Thanks Barack… Nation’s Mood At Lowest Level in 2 Years

As gas prices continue to soar to record levels and the GDP continues to slide, the nation’s mood is at the lowest level in two years.
The New York Times reported:
Americans are more pessimistic about the nation’s economic outlook and overall direction than they have been at any time since President Obama’s first two months in office, when the country was still officially ensnared in the Great Recession, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.
At a time of rising gas prices, stubborn unemployment and a cacophonous debate in Washington over the federal government’s ability to meet its future obligations, the poll presents stark evidence that the slow, if unsteady, gains in public confidence earlier this year that a recovery was under way are now all but gone.
Capturing what appears to be an abrupt change in attitude, the survey shows that the number of Americans who think the economy is getting worse has jumped 13 percentage points in just one month. Though there have been encouraging signs of renewed growth since last fall, many economists are having second thoughts, warning that the pace of expansion might not be fast enough to create significant numbers of new jobs…
…Disapproval of Mr. Obama’s handling of the economy has never been worse — up to 57 percent of Americans — a warning sign as he begins to set his sights on re-election in 2012. And a similar percentage disapprove of how Mr. Obama is handling the federal budget deficit, though more disapprove of the way Republicans in Congress are.

And it is only going to get worse. . . with gas now EXCEEDING $4 in most parts of the country and the dollar weakening due to the funny money QE2 (Quantitative Easing) is pumping. . er, no dumping, into the market. . so inflation is going to go up. . . way up (see food prices lately?).
And the recent unemployment of NEW claims still is above 400K. . . while housing continues to see prices fall. . . (the Misery Index doesn’t track this. . .beacuse if it did, it would be worse than miserable!!)

He may have an astronomical amount of “security” when he goes out of town – but honestly, I think a lot of it is getting his friends some of the benefits of the perks. When the gas prices spiked under Bush (they reached 4.05 here in Phoenix) Bush took off the drilling restrictions and the threat of new supplies from America brought the prices down. They got down to 1.43 here and stayed normal till this freak was elected. Same old game plan force the prices up by placing restrictions both on development and drilling, and then blame it on the oil companies and speculators.

Obama is at war with the energy sector. the higher that oil prices climb, the more taxes government can rake in.(you people didn’t think the Saudis were the only ones benefiting from higher prices did ya?) the states are broke doncha know and they want your money to pay for hefty union pensions and dog parks in Manhattan. I chuckle at all these feint hearts on our side who postulate there’s no way Odinga’s approval could fall below his “floor” of ca. 45% or so. The Wookie and the two punishments may be his firewall for Black support for a fake ass brother who doesn’t know the difference between Weezy and ‘Lisabeth, but there is no such firewall for him with Hispanics, or with ‘low information’ (translation: morons) single female voters, and both those demos still have to buy gas.

He has made us all aware of how quickly all things in America can fall apart -and if you look at gas prices, food prices, foreclosures and everybody’s trouble finding a GD low wage job in all kond of small towns where he says we “cling to guns and religion”…..
