Senator Lindsey Graham told Face the Nation this morning that Congress might need to explore the need to limit some forms of freedom of speech.
“Freedom of speech is a great idea but we’re in a war.”
(At 2:28 mark)
Sometimes Lindsey sounds just like a democrat.
Once again, from Newsmax:
Sen. Lindsey Graham said Congress might need to explore the need to limit some forms of freedom of speech, in light of Tennessee pastor Terry Jones’ Quran burning, and how such actions result in enabling U.S. enemies.
“I wish we could find a way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war,” Graham told CBS’ Bob Schieffer on “Face the Nation” Sunday.
“During World War II, we had limits on what you could do if it inspired the enemy,” Graham said, adding certain speech can “put our troops at risk.”

The last time Graham ran for office, there were 2-3 websites created by Republicans trying to get him defeated. Obviously, the good citizens of Graham’s state are not real bright as they put that clown back into office. Someone should have reminded them Graham’s stance on the Shamesty Bill that created such a stir that people shut down the Congressional switch board screaming “Do Not Pass That Bill.”
Graham’s elitism is what bothers me the most. He thinks that he is so much smarter than the rest of us, and he should be able to tell us how to live our lives. He is a big government RINO who wants to dictate, not serve the people and carry out their will.
Wanting to suppress the free speech of an American citizen to pander to a bunch of cultists seems like something Graham could really get behind.

One question Lindsey, you have now voiced your opinion about limits on free speech based on how our sworn enemies see us, so please when the American Flag is burned on some Ivy League collage campus where is your concern for those in America that are offended?
Having said that I would agree that there are times certain information that may effect military operations should be withheld, and in the past the media on the most part tried hard not to cross that line. However today the media has no loyalty to the nation and will expose information as their handlers dictate. The Unified Theory of Obama
[For as long as I can remember scientists have been trying to put together a Theory of Everything which would explain and connect all the knowledge we have of physical phenomena. So far they haven't been successful, but they keep trying. I wondered if it would be possible to explain the many contradictions of Obama and the mystery of his origins and incomprehensible nature of his domestic and foreign policies to better understand him and predict why he seems to be steering the ship of state onto the shoals
I think I've finally got it, though a night of watching old movies -- "The Man in the Iron Mask" and "The Prince and the Pauper" -- helped me along.
Barack is not one person. The man we know as Barack Obama is really two people, identical (possibly conjoined at the head Janus-like but later separated) twins. Don't laugh. I'll explain.]
Obama’s Energy Security Blueprint:
No energy, no security, but a very pretty blueprint
[As National Review said, “It’s magic! The president is one-third of the way

["How can we possibly confront Islamist radicalization if the President's principal advisor on counterterrorism cannot appropriately identify political Islam as the problem?" said Jasser. "Al Qaida is merely one of many tools of militant political Islam. It is the ideology that they adhere to that we must be at war with and counter frontally in the public sector, because it is at war with us.
As we have seen over the past year, the common thread of theo-political Islam is what drives militants around the world. Mr. Brennan and the President must provide leadership in articulating the real threat and addressing the root cause of Islamist terror. I’m beginning to think, in order to maintain our freedom of speech, that it’s past time to use some classic psychological desensitization techniques on the Mideast ‘Muslim street’.
We Americans, because of the proliferation of, say, burning American flags, have pretty much gotten used to everybody on earth doing it, so we are pretty much now “desensitized” to it. We actually tolerate lots more of that stuff in 2011 than we did in 1950, right?
So…the solution is…we need to burn MORE korans, lots and lots of them, every chance we get. After awhile, the “Muslim street” will realize it’s just the way life is, tire of slitting throats to no avail, and “get used to it.” THEY will become desensitized and violence will decrease…
If however, we legally stop the burning korans, make it against the law, eliminate our own freedom of speech, then the ‘muslim street’ will be ever more incentiviized to become even more violent.
None of this is rocket science.

American soldiers were down in the dirt fighting (and dying) with all their might on many fronts during WWII battling two vicious enemies who were way beyond being inspired to fight harder by any actions or statements coming from American civilians. At that time the Germans could have cared less if any American had publicly burned a ‘Mein Kampf’ book. Same would go for Japan had any American publicly burned any item symbolic to the Shinto religion.
Hollywood was churning out war movies and news reels at the time that had plenty of dialog, which under stupid ol’ Grahamnesty’s way of thinking would be considered inflammatory and urging on the enemy. Where the heck does Lindsey get off making a ridiculous statement like this about what people were and weren’t saying about our enemies during WWII???? Has never seen any WWII related movie that was made during the early 40′s?
Germany and Japan were fully and irrevocably engaged in a war they were both incredibly determined to win. The opinions of any American didn’t mean squat to them. Our most current enemy (islam) is cleverly utilizing the opposite tactic to beat us down and Grahamnesty has played right into their hands. I now fully consider Lindsey Graham a full-on aider and abetter to the enemy by declaring that he believes Congress should consider putting limitations on our freedom of speech.
