LINDSEY GRAHAM: “Freedom of Speech Is a Great Idea But We’re at War” (Video)

Senator Lindsey Graham told Face the Nation this morning that Congress might need to explore the need to limit some forms of freedom of speech.
“Freedom of speech is a great idea but we’re in a war.”

Sometimes Lindsey sounds just like a democrat.

Sen. Lindsey Graham said Congress might need to explore the need to limit some forms of freedom of speech, in light of Tennessee pastor Terry Jones’ Quran burning, and how such actions result in enabling U.S. enemies.
“I wish we could find a way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war,” Graham told CBS’ Bob Schieffer on “Face the Nation” Sunday.
“During World War II, we had limits on what you could do if it inspired the enemy,” Graham said, adding certain speech can “put our troops at risk.”

The last time Graham ran for office, there were 2-3 websites created by Republicans trying to get him defeated. Obviously, the good citizens of Graham’s state are not real bright as they put that clown back into office. Someone should have reminded them Graham’s stance on the Shamesty Bill that created such a stir that people shut down the Congressional switch board screaming “Do Not Pass That Bill.”
Graham’s elitism is what bothers me the most. He thinks that he is so much smarter than the rest of us, and he should be able to tell us how to live our lives. He is a big government RINO who wants to dictate, not serve the people and carry out their will.

Having said that I would agree that there are times certain information that may effect military operations should be withheld, and in the past the media on the most part tried hard not to cross that line. However today the media has no loyalty to the nation and will expose information as their handlers dictate. An interesting article was published in June, 2010 by the NYSlimes about Graham. It told how Graham, and McCain, went to Obama’s campaign headquarters right after the election to speak with Rahm Emanual. It also said that Graham, while Obama ignored those of his own cabinet, was a “visitor” to the White House 19 times in the first 16 months of the Obama administration. Graham, it seems, is the go-to Republican for Obama. Color me not surprised.
Graham seems to want to be noticed, not govern as he was elected to, and if making outragous statements keeps his name in the press, he’s happy.

I’m beginning to think, in order to maintain our freedom of speech, that it’s past time to use some classic psychological desensitization techniques on the Mideast ‘Muslim street’.
We Americans, because of the proliferation of, say, burning American flags, have pretty much gotten used to everybody on earth doing it, so we are pretty much now “desensitized” to it. We actually tolerate lots more of that stuff in 2011 than we did in 1950, right?

American soldiers were down in the dirt fighting (and dying) with all their might on many fronts during WWII battling two vicious enemies who were way beyond being inspired to fight harder by any actions or statements coming from American civilians. Germany and Japan were fully and irrevocably engaged in a war they were both incredibly determined to win. The opinions of any American didn’t mean squat to them. Our most current enemy (islam) is cleverly utilizing the opposite tactic to beat us down and Grahamnesty has played right into their hands. I now fully consider Lindsey Graham a full-on aider and abetter to the enemy by declaring that he believes Congress should consider putting limitations on our freedom of speech.
What he said in this interview should raise the hackles of every red-blooded American and this idiot man should be shamed, shamed, shamed until he repents and apologizes. Or have himself arrested, tried and put away for treason. What a pathetic crum-bum.

Graham sees everything in terms of politics. He has not a clue about America, Freedom, knows nothing about war (you can not win by air power), would kill hundreds of innocent civilians and make more people hate us.
Elsewhere in this thread Graham has been shown to lie in this interview time and time again. I hope this interview is used to defeat Graham the next time he comes up for election.

The man took virtually the same oath of office as I did several times in the military, “I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same”.
Does this comment subvert the constitution? I think it does. If this comment subverts the constitution, does this not also mean he has commited an impeachable offense? I think it does.
I do not care if Mr Graham is a Democrat, Republican or whatever, he has violated his oath of office and it is time to go!
