At least he’ll have more free time now.

(Jack and Jill)

RINO cap-and-trader Republican Jon Huntsman was thinking about running for president… until today.
That was before the Daily Caller published his signed “love letters” to Obama.
The Daily Caller reported:

Jon Huntsman, President Obama’s outgoing ambassador to China, is considering running against his boss in 2012 as a Republican.

But two handwritten letters from Huntsman obtained by The Daily Caller raise the question of why he’s not campaigning for Obama instead.

“You are a remarkable leader,” Huntsman wrote to Obama in an Aug. 16, 2009 note, underlining the word “remarkable,” “and it has been a great honor getting to know you.”

The letter thanks Obama for “the graciousness and kindness you have shown me and my family – particularly your confidence in my ability to represent you in China.” Huntsman said he was “leaving behind a state we love – but anticipating an extraordinary experience in Beijing.”

Count this guy out.

  1. I never counted him in based on the fact that he was complicit enough in Obama’s sham “presidency” to serve as Ambassador to China under him. You can tell a lot about a man by the company he keeps.

  2. Wipe your mouth off and get the hell out of here.

  3. Most of the Presidential candidates thus far are RINO’s, and I guess we can now include Trump in that list.

Americans better count on Palin entering the race because she is looking like the last hope for breaking the Progressive/Socialist death grip on the US.

  4. The spooky dude is picking all of the candidates, on the left and the right.

Pick the candidate that is the wild card. The random outlier that the left and right do not like.

Oh gee, I just described Palin.

Think folks, We got McCrazy and Obama either one was going to be bad but the Republican party hated Palin. (she is and was the not bought off politicain)

    Powder is dry

  5. “You are a remarkable leader,” Huntsman wrote to Obama in an Aug. 16, 2009 note, underlining the word “remarkable,” “and it has been a great honor getting to know you.”

Did he at least wipe his face before writing that?

  6. So… this would-be president leaves a paper trail documenting his man-crush on Obama? Pretty stupid. I don’t like voting for idiots.

  7. Hey, the guy is like the 53+ % that voted Obamao into office…his journey and testimonial should at least be interesting…Blind love and admiration for a candidate like Barry S. was something even McCain seemed to have in 2008.

  8. I been saying, it skips a generation.

  9. Is this the Huntsman Glenn Beck admires so much? Maybe that is a different Huntsman.

It is odd the way Beck always attacks/disrespects straight shooters like Michelle Malkin, Bachmann and others. It is odd. Now he is piling on Trump and the “birther” issue.

Why would he be doing that?

  10. Good. Another one bites the dust

Let me know when we’re to go full tilt boogie with Sarah Palin in 2012. :-)

  11. @Sally, I do believe this is the son of Jon Huntsman Sr.

  12. Sally: Not Glenn Beck’s dear friend, but, is his son.

  13. Mrs X- thanks.

To follow up on my question about Trump-

What harm is there in allowing Trump do some damage on the eligibility issue? Why should anyone who really wants transparency care a wit about giving Trump a bullhorn?

    Let him go!

    He is “trumpeting” issues like

    - let’s have tariffs on goods coming in from China and India
-let’s obtain oil for “free” from Iraq and Mexico for what we have done for them
-border security (or lack of it)
    - the eligibility issue (and millions spent on covering tracks)
-why are we still in certain areas of the middle east?

Let the man speak. No one else is talking about these things on the broad stage.

Anyone trying to shut him down now is suspect..

  14. I never heard of him before. How ironic. The presidential candidate who’s only known for his announcing that he’s not going to run for president.

  15. Sally #11, Mrs. X #13
Confirmed: This refers to John Huntsman Jr. Not senior.

My wife was employed by his opponent, Scott Matheson, when Huntsman ran for governor against him.
I almost voted for Scott, as I perceived that Huntsman was actually to the left of Matheson, a Democrat. Matheson is now a federal judge, so I will watch and see if my instincts were correct. People in Utah instinctively vote Republican. Usually that works out all right, but sometimes not so much. Sometimes the Republicans serve up some real clunkers.

  16. “What harm is there in allowing Trump do some damage on the eligibility issue? Why should anyone who really wants transparency care a wit about giving Trump a bullhorn?”

If Trump blew his Birth Certificate bullhorn in 2008, then your point might have meaning.

“let’s obtain oil for “free” from Iraq and Mexico for what we have done for them”

Further; after eight years of outrageous BushMcHitlerforHaliburtonoil accusations Trump advocates taking ‘free’ oil? Would it not be easier and sanier to take Sarah Palin’s wise advise by drilling our own oil resources.

” let’s have tariffs on goods coming in from China and India”

Hoover did that, imposed tariffs, yet ‘businessman’ Trump is trumpeting that insanity?

Desperation causes people to make bad decisions and Trump is playing on this desperation; don’t be foolish.

  17. Pardon me her *advice*

  18. You’re burying the leed: Who leaked the “handwritten letters” with the express intent of killing Huntsman’s campaign before it started, and why?

  19. ++

they keep telling US third parties are bad for US, and they’re right.. /s/

    ==

  20. I knew even before these letters that he could not be trusted. If you work for Obama, if you praise Obama, that is an automatic NO! No one with good character could either work for him or be friendly with him. We are known by the comapny we keep. Don’t put it past them to put an infiltrator into the mix. Obama is an infiltrator. Huntsman could have never won after working for this sleaze.

  21. Huntsman is a dead man walking if he thinks he’s got a shot at the presidency. Come the 2012 elections, the country is going to be running to the polls. Some unfortunate imbeciles will vote Obomba back in. The rest will be so vehemently against what he has done that people like Huntsman, with his dripping adoration of Prez. Shout Out, will be nobody’s cup of tea.

for fair & balanced outcomes, we need the Tea Party to even the score.. :-)

  23. A diplomat sucking up to his boss. Nothing new, just incredibly dumb that he wrote it down.

Yes, bg, I am a high school teacher. It’s lovely and quiet for a change. I wish he would do it again.

  25. Already not an option. Obi’s boy in China.
    Nuff said.

  26. “Jon Huntsman, President Obama’s outgoing ambassador to China, is considering running ‘AGAINST’ his boss in 2012 . . . as a Republican.”

Not so bad when “against” is actually “for.” How many candidates are stealth leftists? Everybody blowing in the wind. What I always loved about Reagan was that he led the country, instead of adjusted himself to the tides of “hope and change . . . ”

Anyway, gotta be careful about those “as a Republican” types, who ain’t nothin’ uh thuh sort.

Isn’t it just loads of fun that the free world pretty much hangs in the balance on this one? As a former leftist, I can tell you that Obama’s army (under general Soros) will do anything to keep him or similar in power in 2012. They NEVER EVER EVER EVER want another Reagan, or anyone close to, so infiltration into the Republican Party, the Tea Party, the Independent Party, etc. is all calculated and previously planned.

  27. One more thing: this guy Huntsman looks just like McCain did around Obama. Total in awe kiss-up.

    Blech.

  28. Problem is, this puss sounds like damned near every other Republican in DC!!!

  29. He can take The Donald with him.

  30. These people are politicians…what do you expect? They succeed becuase they understand the power of telling people what they want to hear and holding their nose when kissing cans.

Unfortunately, most people are clueless and can’t see through it…that’s precisely why it works.

Want real change? Need to throw 90%+ of all politicans and maybe 95% of all lawyers into unemployment and refuse to let any of them work again. Do that and you will see a positive transformation in this country.

oh i think it’s a good idea, what’s not a good idea is they never shut up
about the opposition, ergo, can you say hypocrites?? i mean, what are
they trying to do, stop the “bullying” (of which i’m 110% for) or use the
bullied as an excuse for their political “bully pulpit” bashing.. gah!!

  32. Its a good thing we found out that this one wears a skirt…

  33. This guy is Romney, without Romney’s experience. He has nothing to recommend him.

  34. I have no problem with Huntsman serving in the Obama Administration. Huntsman loves China and it was a wonderful opportunity. One I bet many Democrats wouldn’t pass up if a GOP President offered them an ambassadorship if they really thought they could make a difference. China is an extremely important part of our foreign policy. It’s not like he was the Ambassador to the Canary Islands. The problem is, Huntsman sounds like he wanted the job to please Obama verses doing it to serve America and hold Obamas feet to the fire. And the suck up letters, while understandable for someone ambitious, killed any chances he could’ve had to even be appointed VP in 2012 or anything of the sort.

  35. When Obama’s new campaign manager met with potential donors, of all the potential GOP contenders, for some reason he targeted Huntsman Jr. Huntsman Jr is the GOP potential nominee this administration doesn’t want to come up against in a general election. Where do you think this “exclusive” came from that got leaked to the Daily Caller? He’s the only one with foreign policy, gubernatorial and business experience of the bunch. He’s conservative, but moderate enough on some positions to pull in Independents and even disappointed Dems. If the GOP wants 4 more years of Obama in then put up Bachmann, Palin, Huckabee, Trump. If they want Obama unseated, they’ll look more at Huntsman. A tea party conservative will get their butt kicked in a general election- so you can stick with principle or decide to unseat Obama.

Better late than never. I’m not saying to support Trump’s run for POTUS or to oppose it. Just saying there’s no harm (except to Barky, potentially, that is) to let Trump have the bullhorn for a while, get ourselves a soda and a comfy seat, and see what damage he may be able to inflict upon the first Kenyan POTUS.

  37. First of all, you guys don’t have to be so vulgar. Second, Huntsman would have lost anyway. Mitt Romney has a substantial lead over him in his own state (and by substantial, I mean HUGE). Third, what’s wrong with Huntsman thanking him for letting him be Ambassador to China? It’s a great gig; anyone would want it, under any president. I’d be willing to accept that “honor to meet you” line as boilerplate language for anyone writing a letter to their new boss; especially if that boss was the president. I’m not a Huntsman supporter, but these letters have nothing to do with why.
