Obama met with young green socialists on Friday at the White House to talk junk science and push his nutty energy plan. Thousands of young green community organizers were in DC this week at the Power Shift 2011 green youth army summit. Obama reminded the kids that grassroots organizing in communities and states will help move our nation on energy and climate.

The Politico reported:

President Barack Obama met with a dozen environmental activists at the White House Friday as his energy agenda continues to come under fire from all sides.

Obama dropped in on a meeting between White House staffers and Energy Action Coalition activists in town for the Power Shift 2011 conference — a gathering of some 10,000 people, almost entirely college students, organizing to promote clean energy and the environment.

The discussion could be seen as an attempt to head off discontent on the left over the failure to pass a comprehensive climate change bill and Obama’s embrace of offshore oil drilling, nuclear power and the use of “clean coal” technology.

Power Shift is organizing a Monday protest in front of the White House.

Courtney Hight, co-director of the Energy Action Coalition and a former White House Council on Environmental Quality staffer, said the group is happy the White House and congressional Democrats were able to stop GOP attempts to block greenhouse gas regulations in the budget bill.

You can be sure that your tax dollars were somehow used to fund this socialist youth indoctrination conference.

  1. We need a President!!!!!!!!!!!! This Liar in Chief does not have any idea on how to lead and most of us would agree that he never acts preseidential. I miss President Reagan!!!!!!

  2. Twitter / Laura Ingraham

Obama will conduct a Facebook town hall on April 20 = going for youth vote on 4/20 day – here’s to “Yes we can” going up in smoke

  3. “President Barack Obama met with a dozen environmental activists at the White House Friday as his energy agenda continues to come under fire from all sides.”

Nothing like meeting with people who want to destroy our energy system, or as Obama calls them like minds.

“The discussion could be seen as an attempt to head off discontent on the left over the failure to pass a comprehensive climate change bill and Obama’s embrace of offshore oil drilling, nuclear power and the use of “clean coal” technology.”

Why would Democrats think that Obama could do this when they controlled the Presidency and both houses of congress? Ahh but now the GOP controls the House he has someone to blame for events from the two years prior.

  4. The last base he thinks can con.

    This guy is pathetic.

  5. “to promote clean energy and the enviroment” bullsh*t. that the front. their real purpose is to promote marxism.

  6. And Algore commented at this conference comparing “global warming” cause to the civil rights cause of the 1960′s. I was at a luncheon in Jackson Ms & heard people speak who rode the freedom buses during that time. They were beaten, had dogs turned on them, & were arrested. All the “global warming” people do is talk & take our money & want to ruin our country. it is a disgrace to make that kind of comparison.

  7. Clueless, exactly like the brainwashed spoiled brat tree-hugging AlGore-worshiping sycophantic choir he’s preaching to. Liberals are so intellectually superior, so absofreakinlutely wonderfully clever as they sit about congratulating each other on their all-encompassing vision and unsurpassed brainpower.
Got news for ya, Lib-children. Everybody’s smart. It’s a basic human condition. The only thing that sets you apart is that your parents worked hard in order to send your sniveling a$$es to school. Or perhaps you benefited from an inverse-apartheid taxpayer-funded grant.
Meanwhile, the real work of America gets done – not by unionistas, not by Joe-college-boy-wonders, definitely not by ’60′s hippie radical-chic urban guerrilla enviromorons – but by Honest-to-God working people who understand that all of life is a compromise, that a balance must be struck between hugging a plant and survival.

    Punks pi$$ me off.

  8. “.. Liberals are so intellectually superior, so absofreakinlutely wonderfully clever as ..” ahhhh and not a lick of common sense among them.

  9. Indoctrination is indeed the operable term here.

  10. They’re tellin’ me the world is warmin’ up
And my minivan’s part of the cause
And the science is settled so it’s time for big change
To our economy and our laws

Well if the science is settled then tell me why their
    Computer models can’t agree
And why the world’s cooled down for the past several years
While they’re hidin’ their data from me

    Despite their erudition
    And academic pedigree
The Best and the Brightest look instead
Like a box of dim bulbs to me

They’d put us in the soup lines over
    Parts-per-billion probabilities
The Best and the Brightest look instead
Like a box of dim bulbs to me …
… Like a box of dim bulbs to me

  11. Remember how the UN claimed (in 2005) that there would be 50 million climate refugees by 2010?

    No trace of them, whatsoever.

  12. Oh, also notice how these “leaders” are mainly female. So my question goes out: how many of them have an engineering or physics background?

    Very likely NONE.

  13. Save the photo. It will be a good one for the slideshow in ten years – for the Disillusioned Leftists Conference of 2021.

  14. Wonder how many non-black, non-Jewish kids are in that room? I don’t know why these two demographics are the biggest suckers for liberal propaganda???

  15. Obama’s embrace of offshore oil drilling, nuclear power and the use of “clean coal” technology.

    Huh?

    Let’s try this:

Obama’s embrace of offshore oil drilling in Brazil, nuclear power in France, and the use of coal in China.

  16. On second thought I think I was being too harsh on Politico. I can see their point now. Obama has not shut down all oil drilling, closed all nuclear power plants, or banned the use of coal. My apologies to the author(s) of this piece.

  17. Oh, also notice how these “leaders” are mainly female.

    I count one male.

  18. Even the lowest level street agitator knows how important it is to nurture the budding hatred your sycophants have toward your enemies. They must not think, they must obey and follow.

  19. “I count one male”

You mean outside the suit next to him who looks like he”s an advisor or putting the thing on?

Is that a male two seats from the back in the left? Sometimes hard to tell with the left…

And in reality, its likely impossible to tell how many may have switched around a couple times in their past – they could all be males for all we know!

  20. StrangernFiction, that’s why I said “mainly” instead of “all”.

  21. Politicians if they had taken chemistry, physics and algebra in high school would understand that the Laws of Physics and Chemistry cannot be politicized, they are what they are.

  22. Greg, they can ignore the laws if it helps them gain power. German chancellor Merkel is one such example. The woman is a physical chemist, but the science section of her brain has been turned off by years and years of political indoctrination back in Communist East Germany, and even more years as a political animal. Today that science section in her brain is dead and she’s driven by hunger for power.

Yep, that’s the Angela Merkel who said just a few months ago that the wealth of the German people comes from the Euro (instead of hard work.)

If I had a say, which I don’t, of course… I would make it that lawyers would be banned from politics, that everyone who wants to be a politician would either have to serve a certain amount of time in the armed forces and/or have a scientific background (in which they did actual research and publishing.) Plus term limits not only for certain positions like in parliaments or as presidents, but in politics in general. Let’s say, maximum time you’re allowed to stay in politics in general: 20 years. You reach these 20 years, you must resign from your position and your party. You can remain a member, but without any executive power.

  23. Who’s John Galt?

    Ron Paul 2012.

  24. Andreas … coming from the research/publishing arm of the scientific community may not even be enough to assure sound judgment.

Might I suggest a background of actual engineering design/development instead … where they have delivered working solutions that other people actually USE to solve the problems they face?

One of the reasons I think I have gravitated towards conservative views is because, as a practicing engineer, my ideas are tested against objective reality on a near-daily basis, with a more timely and direct feedback of consequence than what you get from research/publishing, and certainly more timely/direct feedback than you get in the social-science/education/political processes.

That experience has spilled over, outside my professional capacity, to guide my judgment when it comes to evaluating the other areas of the society I live in.

I think our leaders would benefit from being exposed to the feedback in such experience.
