Former Governor Mike Huckabee didn’t appreciate Glenn Beck’s comments this week labeling him a progressive.
Via Huckpac:

This week Glenn Beck has taken to his radio show to attack me as a Progressive, which he has said is the same as a “cancer” and a “Nazi.” What did I do that apparently caused him to link me to a fatal disease and a form of government that murdered millions of innocent Jews? I had the audacity—not of hope—but the audacity to give respect to the efforts of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign to address childhood obesity. I’m no fan of her husband’s policies for sure, but I have appreciated her efforts that Beck misrepresented—either out of ignorance or out of a deliberate attempt to distort them to create yet another “boogey man” hiding in the closet that he and only he can see. The First Lady’s approach is about personal responsibility—not the government literally taking candy from a baby’s mouth. He seems to fancy himself a prophet of sorts for his linking so many people and events together to describe a massive global conspiracy for pretty much everything. Sadly, he seems equally inept at recognizing the obvious fact that children are increasingly obese and that we now see clinical evidence of diseases in children that as recent as 20 years ago were found only in adults, such as Type 2 diabetes. The costs to our nation are staggering in increase health care expenses, but it even effects national security with now 75% of young men between the ages of 17 and 24 are unfit for military service primarily due to obesity! His ridiculous claim that John McCain and I collaborated and conspired in the 2008 campaign is especially laughable. Is he not aware that McCain and I were competitors—not cohorts? Beck needs to stick to conspiracies that can’t be so easily de-bunked by facts.

Evidently, Huck didn’t like being called a progressive, huh?

  1. Huck is just another RINO with an ego the size of Texas. He thinks that because he has made some “conservative” statements, it wipes out his record in Arkansas. It doesn’t.

Unfortunately, Huck doesn’t see the hypocracy in Michelle Antoinette Thunder Thighs’ program. It does not push personal responsibility, it pushes schools making decisions for parents. Another one of Obama’s attempt to make this nation totally socialist.

Maybe Huck should have pointed out that the children of parents who are on food stamps are the most obese in the nation and how many more families are now on the food stamp program since Obama took office? Nah, why would Huck defend conservative thought? He is trying much too hard to win over the liberals, along with the mushie middle.

  2. I think Huck is a wee bit sensitive to the weight issue.

  3. I did’nt trust him during the primaries. Huck is a RINO and not what America needs. His time has come and gone.

    powder is dry

  4. Seems to me Michelle’s approach to diet is not the strictly voluntary variety Huck paints. Maybe no outright federal laws yet, but coerciveness and basically bullying has the likes of Walmart adjusting its food choices. It’s the old bandwagon effect, and Michelle is on that wagon leading the band.

    http://dailycaller.com/2011/01/24/wal-mart-caves-to-government-bullies/

Laws will follow, following the Obamas’ reelection, if that (God forbid) happens.

Wake up, Huck. And this is not the only example of your progressive tendencies.

  5. Glenn Beck is a clown with no regard for facts. Just because he hates Obama is not a reason to overlook his disregard for truth,

  6. I really don’t care much for Huckabee.

I’m of the school that thinks people who put on TV shows shouldn’t be President. Can’t explain why I think that, but I do.

Also, he’s just too “nice.” Can’t explain that one much better either. It’s like he has this “nice” sort of world-view and thinks that means everything else fits into it.

And he’s too religious for my taste. That one is hard to explain, too, since I’m fairly religious.

Altogether, I don’t care for him. But if they put him up for president, I will vote for him, as I would vote for a potted plant before I vote for the lunatic we have now.

Give us an example of a prediction that Beck has made that has not come to fuition????

He cites his sources and backs it up, come on troll, back it up.

    powder is dry

  8. Huck is a first class weasel. On SO many grounds.

  9. Huckabee is correctly identified by Mr. Beck. It is pure irony, harsh, but truly accurate.

Does Huckabee not remember his own record?

He taxed and spent more than Bill Clinton over the same two term tenure. Huckabee had a disastrous liberal Pardon agenda, which routinely set free dangerous criminals. Mike Huckabee even tried to provide Illegal Immigrant Adult Education with taxpayer funding.

But we will never forget Huckabee’s expression in regards to the Republican’s most admirable efforts in fighting the GWOT. Mr. Huckabee sounded just like Obama, attacking GW Bush. It was ugly.

And yes, Mr. Huckabee, you did placate John McCain at every turn, and often tried to gang up on Mr. Romney for you couldn’t handle it. They both repeatedly lost the debates to Romney, and it was clear the Huckster played the game, even when McCain boldly lied about Romney’s position on Iraq.

Then, to really make an egotistical scene, Huckabee refused to step aside when the race was clearly – unfortunately won by the Maverick. Huckabee is one of those embarrassing posers, who has exploited all with an Identity, much based on religious association.

This is a dishonest Politician who could not even be honest about his own education. What degree did you get Mr. Huckabee?

  10. The FACT the Huckleberry IS a Progressive is not new news to anyone that ever actually listened to him.
And just like with Mccain, during the primaries the left will be voting Huckleberry.

  11. “And just like with Mccain, during the primaries the left will be voting Huckleberry.”

    Yep, agreed, well said.

I do know a few of their other favorites. Many I encounter are eager to face a few of Our Celebrities (some will not be happy – the fashion often plays it differently).

But these ugly Democratic Partisans are eager for those they feel they easily can stereotype. Delaware is a prime example. It is sad, for they use these ugly stereotypes, a genuine bigotry, to justify their voting, ignoring the basis – or the disastrous offering of the Democratic Party.

For example, a guy like Christie scares them, as he defies the stereotype, and is very capable, serious, etc. The issue isn’t just getting some conservative offering, who plays the game, it is about finding a sound Candidate. We simply cannot offer more image based hype. I was so opposed to McCain, and we simply cannot take that path again either, an aged Beltway Celebrity without any CEO experience who enabled the disastrous Democratic Party for his entire career. We can, must, find the best.

I doubt it will be the fashionable offering, and like in NJ, when the ideal Lonegan lost to Christie, I hope clearer heads will prevail.

  12. There’s just something about The Huckster I don’t like. I believe it’s spelled RINO.

  13. @Alana, Ronald Reagan was on the TV, too. Just sayin’.

  14. Chisum that picture of the Huckabuck family? Why on earth would you ever make such a monstrosity pubilc???
How many blue striped tents were sacrificed so that the HUCKABUCKS could cover themselves adequately.
Here’t deal with Wide a$$ Obama and Huckabuck. Mind your own farking business. Why is it LIBS allow babies to be stabbed in the head with scissors, but want to dictate what I can eat. Why is it okay for a man to stick his penis in another mans rectum, but FRENCH FRIES are off limits???

  15. Just stfu and go away Huckabee.Everyone sees right through you.

  16. I am not voting in the general if Huck is the nominee.

  17. I’m From Arkansas…

…and Huck is a Progressive who is basically Conservative on ONE issue. Abortion. everything else..he is pretty much a Tax raising, big nanny gov’t, John McCain wanna be…

He doesn’t even live in Arkansas anymore…the place he left in his wake, that he helped raise taxes Each and Every Year he was governor.

…and we won’t even get into how Ark became a “Sanctuary State” for illegals..and under him.. with a few years, whole counties in this state have had a 80% demographic change to Spanish only Speaking residents.

  18. I remember something about Huck and Bill Clinton turning the public schools in Arkansas into a dietary “reform” worthy of what Michelle Obama is trying to do to all of the states. It was passed because Huck thinks since he is no longer a big fat fatty, no one should be, and since he could do it, he made changes with Clinton to govern what they kids ate at school.

He’s no different than Michelle. They just love to tell others what to do.

  19. Libby see you had a sleep over at Barney Franks place , my question is why would’nt he let you eat french fries ?

  20. Libby McLibtard,

Unfortunately I have no answers to your questions.

But the picture was illustrative, no?

  21. Can’t forget Huckster whining through the 2008 primaries. Don’t know why Fox News keeps his sorry ass on cable.

  22. Hey Cutler!!! How you doin!? Barney Frank just called, he said he found a Vanderbilt Class ring wedged in his anus. You missing a ring??

  23. For a Christian man who is to love his church as Jesus loves his church, Mike Huckabee has an odd way of showing his love when he proclaimed that ‘he is as pro-life of them all BUT we must continue funding Planned Parenthood’s abortion industry’.

Mike Huckabee, if Planned Parenthood needs money to fund abortion then they should solicit charitable funds from private individuals who make their own choice to fund that industry rather than using government power to fund that industy by extorting from others who would rather give the blessings God has given them to be used where they feel is needed.

Progressives rob human beings of their God-given right to be charitable of heart and Mike Huckabee should know better than to extort by force in the name of doing charitable good.

  24. my, how the boogeyman does squeal when the light comes on!

it’s a perfect example of what i’ve said before. Huck’s claws came out in this attack but the delivery was in the usual “aw shucks” fashion.

    Sunlight is the best decontaminant.

  25. I cannot seem to disconnect Huckabee from the ‘social justice’ rhetoric of the progressives.

  26. The Huckster is a statist.

  27. Apparently the truth DOES hurt.

And some people think that because they are pro-life, that makes them a conservative.

    Not so much….

  28. Huck is a Republican who wears the Democrat Jackass on his T-Shirt. I understand why he is mad. Hell, he worked hard trying to convince people he was a real Conservative. To have the truth come out like this must hurt like hell.

  29. Huck strikes me as a progressive too. Just sayin’.

  30. The shuckster protesting a bit TOOO Loudly. Beck struck paydirt. Really really sad when a bogus failed televangelist scam preacher lashes out at somebody who is genuinely trying to spare people from the power of evil . We are trying to defeat the Nanny State and here Huck the sycophant is running around kissing Michelle’s big butt as she takes Happy Meals away from babbies. Obama shakes down McDonalds to hire 50,000 people in one day in return for an Obamacare waiver so he can juice the unemployment numbers…and here Shuckster was supposed to be leading a charge to repeal Obamacare but ends up leading the charge to cave in and sell out on the budget. Shuckster is a biblcal PHARISEE.

  31. Wait, a whiny jerk of a politician who freaks out when someone criticizes him? Sounds a little too like Obama for my taste.

Huckabee is a phony. He is an angry, bitter man who puts on a completely fake persona in public. Sometimes, though, just like Obama, his temper and ego are too powerful to be hidden.

Huckabee is a progressive RINO. Look at his record. He is so awful that if he somehow got the nomination, i would vote third party. He is absolutely the death blow to the GOP if allowed to represent the party in 2012.

Just go away Huckabee. You are garbage and your lazy eye is creepy…..like weird smelling old man, on a bench at the park, mumbling to himself….creepy.

  32. Screw Huckabee. Release more murderers from jail please.

  33. Romney, Huckabee, recycled trash. You cannot trust them. Just like Christie from NJ, who is a social LIBERAL, not good enough to be Pres. I vote for the first Republican who stands up and says that he/she will REPEAL every POS that has been passed since Jan 21, 2009. NOTHING has benefitted the PEOPLE of the US. Huckabee is a white OBAMA who Loves COMPROMISE. No compromise to SAVE our country.

  34. Now you know who at FOX stuck a knife in Beck’s back…Notice how Huck uses the 5 year old analogy of a “boogey man in the closet ” Huck is always talking down to people like he’s the nice daddy and we are all the immature little 5 year old kids..Classic give away tell sign of a nanny state progressive .

  35. Huckaby doesn’t pass the Spirit bearing witness test.

  36. Lt. Col. Allen West 2012

  37. If the shoe fits Hukabee….I trust Glenn Beck. Light is the best disenfectant. Just stick to your nice little show.

  38. Cain/West 2012.

  39. Back in 2007 / 2008, I supported huckster for a short time until I had the opportunity to scrutinize his record and listen more closely to his speeches. This turkey is simply another Juan McAmnesty without the military service creds. Still, even a two dimensional buffoon such as huckwould be preferable to anything the dims can field. If it comes down to him v. the dim, I just hope the election board lets me take a barf bag into the polls.

2008 was SO discouraging. The first time in my lifetime we had a Presidential election without a past or incumbent Prez / VP and the best the system could produce was a RINO collaborator on one hand and an feckless empty suit fraud on the other. At this rate, a random lottery would be about as useful and far less expensive. Only twice in my life have I seen candidates going into the general whom I could support with enthusiasm (Goldwater & Reagan). Our political system discourages quality candidates at every level. We can only hope 2012 brings us an individual with courage, integrity and principle at the top of the ticket.

  40. “The First Lady’s approach is about personal responsibility—not the government literally taking candy from a baby’s mouth. ”

Hah! First off, Huckabee should look at the wide load Michelle is carrying. Second off, Michelle and personal responsibility to not go hand in hand – the woman goes on trips at the taxpayers’ expense, so where is her personal responsibility in that: nowhere.

  41. EVERYBODY KNOWS HUCKABEE IS A SOCIALIST.

  42. Huckleberry is nothing but McVain’s fartblossom.

I’d like to tell ya what I think of the Huckster, but seriously, words simply fail to get putrid enough to get into the same neighborhood with ol’ Huckleberry Schill.

I think one of the creatures I saw described in one man’s detailed description of Hell Itself, really reminded me of the old Arkansas shyster shuck and scam cousin of another famous Arkansas ex-Gov.

Nothing natural to this planet does it so well. A python demon. Seriously.

  43. In 2008 campaign, McCain was Rino #1 and Huckabee, Rino #2. Initially in the GOP contest, McCain was falling far behind. They ganged up to squeeze out Romney who was then the only possible hopeful to give a good fight to Hillary or Obama.
To have McCain win the GOP nomination ensured a DNC win. Unless the GOP leadership was dumb like a bum, a collusion with DNC Socialists would be true.

I agreed with Old Man at No.9. Though articulate, Huckabee is cheap and hopeless.

  44. Well, one perusal of this thread and it’s obvious why Huck keeps leading or staying near the top in all of those “Republican Presidential Contender” polls: It’s the universal love and regard in which he’s held by Conservatives. (glitter, rainbows, skittles, and unicorns go here.)

Do any of you know anyone who would vote for Huck? Even a conservative-ish Democrat?

    Neither do I.

  45. Why would I vote for Huck when we’ve got Mc Cain. Same same, but no military record.
