FactCheck.Org: Obama Repeatedly Lied In Critique of Ryan Plan

Obama didn’t just misrepresent one or two things. Obama lied throughout his critique of the Ryan Plan. And, he did this after he invited Rep. Paul Ryan to sit up front for the speech.

No wonder Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) was so upset after Obama’s horrible attacks and lies.

FactCheck.org reported, via Free Republic:

President Barack Obama misrepresented the House Republicans’ budget plan at times and exaggerated its impact on U.S. residents during an April 13 speech on deficit reduction.

- Obama claimed the Republicans’ “Path to Prosperity” plan would cause “up to 50 million Americans “¦ to lose their health insurance.” But that worst-case figure is based in part on speculation and assumptions.

- He said the GOP plan would replace Medicare with “a voucher program that leaves seniors at the mercy of the insurance industry.” That’s an exaggeration. Nothing would change for those 55 and older. Those younger would get federal subsidies to buy private insurance from a Medicare exchange set up by the government.

- He said “poor children,” “children with autism” and “kids with disabilities” would be left “to fend for themselves.” That, too, is an exaggeration. The GOP says states would have “freedom and flexibility to tailor a Medicaid program that fits the needs of their unique populations.” It doesn’t bar states from covering those children.

- He repeated a deceptive talking point that the new health care law will reduce the deficit by $1 trillion. That’s the Democrats’ own estimate over a 20-year period. The Congressional Budget Office pegged the deficit savings at $210 billion over 10 years and warned that estimates beyond a decade are “more and more uncertain.”

- He falsely claimed that making the Bush tax cuts permanent would give away “$1 trillion worth of tax cuts for every millionaire and billionaire.” That figure — which is actually $807 billion over 10 years — refers to tax cuts for individuals earning more than $200,000 and couples earning more than $250,000, not just millionaires and billionaires.

- He said the tax burden on the wealthy is the lowest it has been in 50 years. But the most recent nonpartisan congressional analysis showed that the average federal tax rate for high-income taxpayers was lower in 1986…

If factcheck.org is ripping Obama as the Liar in Chief his dinghy is really leaking. Fact Check Dot Org has proven time and time again to be a partisan group of the Left that is funded by The Annenberg (spelling?) Foundation, which Obama has a long association with. I hope and pray that the Republican that runs against this farce of a leader will not be so weak that they lose because not since Jimmy Cartedr have we had such a vulnerable, weak President. Any kind of decent Republican who is not a RINO like John McCain has ALWAYS been his entire political career. This country is so in need and has a strong desire to have a real leader who builds up our country and inspires it’s citizens like Ronald Reagan was and did that Obama will not only lose but replace Jimmy Carter (which he really already has) as the worst President ever!

The 2012 election is shaping up to be a battle between profligate spending towards total collapse vs. budgetary discipline leading the country towards economic recovery. The GOP needs to get its head out of its arse and make Paul Ryan its candidate because there is no one better suited to embody the conservative position, save Sarah Palin. Draft Paul Ryan!

I believe that the Democrats made this claim after they pillaged Medicare, with the long term effect of bankrupting it.

The Democrats did this by double accounting, another way of lying

All that today’s media does is regurgitate. The repeat like a parrot what they hear with no analysis and no critique and no skepticism… at least when it comes out of Obama’s mouth. It’s a race to see who can report/regurgitate first, and when that’s the only/main goal there’s no time for analyzing or fact checking, because you have to beat the competition to broadcast/print.

This is a lie within a lie.
Don’t forget that the CBO scoring for this reflects four years of front-loading, i.e. the tax/fee for Obamacare will have been collected for 4 years before the “benefits” start. In other words, this estimate is for 10 years of cost but only 6 years of “benefits”.
The reason the CBO says it becomes more and more uncertain after that is that as more years of “benefits” go on, they catch up and pass the pre-paid 4 years and the program nosedives into a net cost.
