However, you lost the right to prevail on your preferred policy choices when your party lost the election. One of the great strengths of our system is its ability to shed policies that are out of sync with other conditions over which we have no control. Whether you like it or not, there are substantial numbers of people in your state who think that Wiscon’s course needs to be changed, and our system was set up to allow that to happen, without the lawbreaking that has characterized your actions and those of your supporters.
You are going to be famous for a while, and if we come out of this broader economic mess as I believe we will, Wisconsin is going to be a case study in the kind of behavior we don’t want to see in our Republic, similar to Kent State. As a long time first grade teacher myself, I do not for a MINUTE believe any first grade child made that connection so he is either lying about the story or lying about his wife not preaching the Democratic party line.
