AZ ‘Birther’ Bill Passes Senate – Requires Presidential Candidates to Show Proof of Citizenship

If Barack Obama wants to be included on the ballot in Arizona in 2012 he will have to show proof of citizenship. The Arizona senate passed their “birther” bill last night. The bill will now be sent to Republican Governor Jan Brewer who will sign it into law.
AZ Central reported:
The Arizona Legislature has become the first in the nation to pass a measure requiring presidential candidates to provide proof of citizenship in order to get on the state’s ballot.
House Bill 2177 got final approval Thursday night from the House. It will be transmitted to Gov. Jan Brewer, who will then have five days to sign it, veto it or do nothing and allow it to become law.
If Brewer chooses to veto the bill, Republican lawmakers could attempt an override vote. The bill would become law if two-thirds of legislators supported the override.
“It’s essential that we bring back the integrity to the office,” Rep. Judy Burges, R-Skull Valley, said during a recent debate on one of the so-called “birther” measures.HB 2177, sponsored by Rep. Carl Seel, R-Phoenix, would require presidential and vice presidential candidates to provide the Arizona secretary of state with documents proving they are natural-born citizens.
Those documents can be either a long-form birth certificate or two or more other permitted documents, including an early baptismal certificate, circumcision certificate, hospital birth record, postpartum medical record signed by the person who delivered the child or an early census record.

If a single state with a presidential primary has such a law in effect at the filing deadline date, it will either force BHO to 1) produce the documents; 2) find a convenient excuse to not run for reelection; or 3) throw up the greatest storm of organic refuse in an effort to intimidate that State into giving him a pass.
Such laws, like implementing solid procedures and practices to guarantee the integrity of the voting process and the count, are an essential component to reducing the influence of the socialists in government. It is sad that Republicans are not as interested in taking these measures as they need to be.

I had to give my birth certificate last summer to get a replacement Social Security Card. I’ve had to do it my whole life. I had to give my two children’s to get into kindergarten. Why is everyone acting like this is such a foreign idea?
Did it ever occur to any of you after 9/11 that someone might try to infiltrate the White House or other office to destroy the country from within? I know it sounds crazy but have four airplanes hijacked in one day, slitting the throats of the pilots to take over the cockpits, and then flying the planes into buildings and a farm in PA killing thousands probably would have at one time.

I don’t think it’s asking a hell of a lot for him to release records so people can know his true background. For this reason alone, he isn’t fit to be where he is. He never deserved the title of President of the United States. He was elected for one reason only. It’s his complexion. He isn’t brilliant, he was the least qualified, and he’s as detestable a human being as they come.
If you can’t produce this, you have no business being anywhere near the highest office in the land. I think people are more afraid of what else Mr. Trump is going to find out, not just his birthplace or who his real father is. There are rumors he dropped out of Occidental because of drugs and bad grades, and never attended Columbia. How are we to know? We can’t even see this “Brilliant” man’s college transcripts.

As much as I respect Levin the issue is not whether or not BHO was born in Hawaii. It is whether or not he is “natural born” according to the requirements of the Constitution.
Since BHO’s father was a subject of Keyna at the time of BHO’s birth, if that “legitimate birth certificate” shows that fact, then we do have an issue, for according to the law in effect at the time, both parents must be US Citizens in order for their child to be natural born. BHO’s father was not.
Now, of course the person who BHO told us is his father in his two autobiographies might not really be his father. Given how much money that BHO has spent on legal teams to resist the release of any records of his youth, we have to ask, what does that “legitimate birth certificate” say that he does not want us to know? If his biological father was Frank Marshall Davis, then no problem! Davis was a citizen even if he was a communist.

The president of the United States is the most powerful individual in the world. As such, it is important that he meets all the legal requirements needed to hold that office. So far he has not presented physical evidence that he does. Anecdotal evidence from Hawaii officials or his grandmother or journalists are no substitute for physical evidence that will withstand legal challenge all the way up to the Supreme Court.
Arizona is on the right track in demanding that candidates be able to demonstrate the needed qualification, but ultimately the same sort of citizenship vetting it proposes needs to be uniformly applied by all states. What’s needed is a formal set of uniform procedures that includes full FBI background checks, perhaps overseen by the Supreme Court and backed by the major parties as a precondition for them even to submit the name of a candidate. Let the normal rules of discovery apply, with documents submitted in evidence, and testimony of submitting officials be taken under oath. No proof, no name on the ballot. Why should it be otherwise?
It’s time to stop playing games with our presidential elections and normalize the procedures for qualifying candidates. It is unconscionable that this hole in our election system has gone unfixed as long as it has.

uh, yeah there is evidence of Obama spending millions to cover it up – court records don’t just go away, and defenses cost actual money to present. Look up Alan Keyes, or better yet, Democrat Philip J. Berg (the first to file a suit back in 2008) for an example of Obama spending big money to keep his records completely sealed.
And no, Jan Brewer would be protecting her state from any future potential fraud if she signs such a bill. That is a worthy cause, no matter where you stand on Obama. A Left-Wing blogger wrote this off stating “he might have got it while visiting his father who was going to school in that state”.
-First problem, his father didn’t go to school there; he went to school in Mass.
-Second problem, Obama specifically states that he saw his father only once after the divorce; when Sr. went to HI in 1971 – 6 years prior to the number even being issued.
-Third problem, the SS# seems to *also* connect to a CT citizen who, supposedly, died in HI (of all places!) in 1981. Now, SS#s are not reused though – So how did Obama get it to start using in 1986 in Chicago?
-And the Forth, and possibly most interesting problem; let’s just assume there is nothing nefarious over this SS# thing for a moment – but wait, then how did he work for Baskin-Robbins in 1975 if his SS# wasn’t even issued until 1977?

I understand there is at least a 50% chance that Gov. Brewer won’t have the guts to sign the bill.
Also, you can fully expect the Obama Messiah to get some Federal Judge to declare the bill unlawful.

What will become even more obvious IF Gov. Brewer does sign the bill, is the lengths that Obama and his supporters on the right and on the left, will go to in order to evade the issue and to smear anyone who brings it up as a loon.
On a side note, have you noticed how Fox News and other media outlets have suddenly circled their wagons around Obama on the birther issue?
