The Libyan rebels are guilty of many of the same war crimes as the Gaddafi regime.

John McCain called today to increase military support to these same rebels.

US secretary of state Hillary Clinton announced yesterday that the US would provide $25m of non-lethal items such as vehicles, radios and medicines to opposition forces.

Neither of which are sequiter to the discussion, And every naval aviator has had a bolter or bad landing on a carrier, what do you think, it’s easy or something? I am no McCain fan as far as politics, but he is still a distiguished veteran and military hero. So if you are going to bash the man, try to, at minimum, get one thing correct will you? Google “USS Forrestal Disaster”. Which now that I think about it is probably what you are referring to, which shows a COMPLETE lack of knowledge on your part.

    How, exactly did McCain’s A-4 start, with it’s tail sticking out over the fantail affect an aircraft ‘behind’ it? McCains A-4 was on the opposite side of the deck from the F-4 that fired the Zuni rocket, which occured due to a power surge when switching between external and internal power prior to launch. Frakkin civilians I swear to God. Not too bright are you?

    If you are going to bash the man, for Christ’s sake have at least one ‘fact’ that is in the ballpark of reality. I despise his politics for the most part but he was a good pilot and survived things that would destroy a normal man as a POW. So give the man his due and quit just making shyte up or quoting the first thing that fits your preconceived notion as fact. It just makes you look ignorant, lazy and uninformed.

I simply quoted a different account of the incident and linked to the source, which included statements from witnesses and survivors. This was THEIR account. Since most of those who know what actually happened are dead, we may never know exactly what happened. I regularly correspond with POWs who were at the Hanoi Hilton when John McCain was there. Some of them I SERVED WITH.

    I didn’t mention any of my own firsthand knowledge, I simply quoted a different account of what caused the Forrestal disaster. I didn’t disparage McCain for his service, and I would appreciate it if you not disparage ME, either. Civilian? ME? I am now. What does that have to do with my post?

    There were 4,400 crew onboard that day, I am certain there are a great many of them still with us.

    So you are pen pals with some former POW’s huh? Any of them on the Forrestal when the accident happened? I didn’t think so. If they were you would probably have some basic knowledge of what occured that day.
