NPR CEO AND FAR LEFT CRANK VIVIAN SCHILLER RESIGNS.
Breaking–

NPR President and CEO Vivian Schiller has resigned, NPR just announced.

This follows yesterday’s news that then-NPR fundraiser Ron Schiller (no relation) was videotapped slamming conservatives and questioning whether NPR needs federal funding during a lunch with men posing as members of a Muslim organization (they were working with political activist James O’Keefe on a “sting.”)

Vivian Schiller quickly condemned Ron Schiller’s comments, and he moved up an already-announced decision to leave NPR and resigned effectively immediately. But Ron Schiller’s gaffe followed last fall’s dismissal of NPR political analyst Juan Williams, for which Vivian Schiller came under harsh criticism.

NPR just released this statement from NPR Board of Directors Chairman Dave Edwards:

“It is with deep regret that I tell you that the NPR Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Vivian Schiller as President and CEO of NPR, effective immediately.

“The Board accepted her resignation with understanding, genuine regret, and great respect for her leadership of NPR these past two years.

“Vivian brought vision and energy to this organization. She led NPR back from the enormous economic challenges of the previous two years. She was passionately committed to NPR’s mission, and to stations and NPR working collaboratively as a local-national news network.

“According to a CEO succession plan adopted by the Board in 2009, Joyce Slocum, SVP of Legal Affairs and General Counsel, has been appointed to the position of Interim CEO. The Board will immediately establish an Executive Transition Committee that will develop a timeframe and process for the recruitment and selection of new leadership.

“I recognize the magnitude of this news – and that it comes on top of what has been a traumatic period for NPR and the larger public radio community. The Board is committed to supporting NPR through this interim period and has confidence in NPR’s leadership team.”

We’ll have much more on this as the story develops.

and the tax return posted there.There are executive salaries being pd that range from $180K
to 300K. and there is a line that shows revenue of $115,000,000 ( millions)that was fromt hesale of some stations apparently.

Brett Baier just reported that the Board at NPR ousted Vivian. The Board is ticked about comments from both Schillers that they ‘really don’t want (or need) government funding’. Also the Board was appalled by the airing of their elitist attitudes.

If it’s true, as NPR Board Chairman Dave Edwards says, that the entire board accepts her resignation with “deep regret” – then the ENTIRE board needs to go as well. The woman is a disgrace and has led NPR deeper and deeper into a gutter filled with intolerance, rigid and reflexive political correctness, and hate. The entire organization needs a thorough house-cleaning – starting with the board of directors and working all the way down through senior and middle management.

I think the only real, truly heart-felt “regret” that the Board had was the fact that their anointed & chosen leader Vivian Schiller and her crackerjack (er, crackpot?) staff was finally exposed – for all the world to see – as the hate-filled, intolerant, close-minded, bigoted, “far-left cranks” (thanks Jim) that they already knew them to be. How does any of this come as any surprise to any reasonable person who has followed NPR over the years? I’d like to see Congress de-fund the entire NPR/CPB organization and then have locally-run NPR outlets sue the individual board members and hold them personally responsible for the $450 million/year loss due to their negligent oversight of a hate-filled, bigoted, intolerant management team – that is also, by the way, remarkably uniformly white in its color.

So moron, if the statements were true, and truth is the ultimate defense, why did Schiller & Schiller both resign?

Could it just be they really weren’t concerned with the ‘public’ part of National Public Radio, but only a small, belligerant, angry, uneducated minority who happen to be a bunch of Lenin followers clinging to their Das Kapital and their bigotry?
