Far left Wisconsin loons are now teaching kids how to chant against authority and Scott Walker. Of course, the kids have no idea what they’re chanting about.

Maybe they can also stand outside the police station and chant when they get a speeding ticket. And they can also teach them how to stand outside their places of work and chant when they don’t get the raise they think they deserve…

As a retired educator here in WI, (though I taught in MO) I am appalled by the behavior of these “educators”. What an absence of professionalism! Hitler Youth tactics are alive and well here, I guess. BTW, I had NO collective bargaining my entire career and was paid as well as WI teachers are…. without the dues. Missouri is not known for making teachers wealthy, either. Sad, very sad.

The kids won’t blame the teachers or the schools for staying overtime. They are taught to blame the authorities with their arcane rules. Kids learn by example. They see their teachers getting away with the mayhem of the last few weeks and will act accordingly.

I am so excited about Scott Walker’s voucher school push as I can send my child to a school with a conservative agenda. It is wonderful to know that I no longer have to worry about footing the bill for public education and can now look for a private school that concentrates on teaching my kids how to use the political system to gain wealth and vote for candidates that support my family’s way of thinking. I was becoming tired of having my tax dollars used to fund poor urban disadvantage children and feel much better knowing that I can continue the pursuit of happiness without the strings of helping out the needs of society.

The Democrats, including Obama, are much less interested in giving poor children a good education than in shoring up the monopoly power of their campaign donors in the teachers’ unions, as well as ensuring that children are indoctrinated in the ideology of big-government leftism.

You are an idiot. The changes that Governor Walker made to the law in Wisconsin does none of the above. It means only that public employees cannot be forced to join a union, that the unions will now have to collect their own dues (thereby saving the state a pretty penny), that teacher’s will now have to pay about 1/3 of what the Average Joe pays for their health insurance and, most importantly, that local school districts will no longer be forced to purchase health insurance for their employees from the union-owned health insurance company at twice the price any other insurance company in Wisconsin would charge.
And do get one thing straight: those of us who send our children to private school or choose to homeschool still pay exactly the same property taxes as everyone else pays. There is no discount for not using the public schools.

If a teacher took the kids to a forced political rally I would hover around not only a civil suit but a possible criminal charge. Where does negligence come down in Wisconsin. Moving kids against their will (that is done by using authority) to complete a task not beneficial to the child (but arguably beneficial to the authority) and deny them their constitutionally recognized school time.
Hmmm… Fired, sued, arrested. The administrator that approved the trip, fired, sued and fined.

Have you ever seen someone fired for NO REASON? I once did – a very poor man asked for a factory job where I worked – was hired and began work that minute. Just before noon, his wife came to the office w/his lunch: a single fried egg and a sausage patty in a bowl, covered by a plate. The owner of the factory saw it, got RED FACED angry and went over to the plant and fired the man on the spot. Oh, and he wouldn’t hire blacks (“they shuffle their feet”).
That’s what happens when all the power rests in management, archtop.
And to Earl P. People who forget history are doomed to repeat it – have you guys heard of the Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire? Hence, those who are deemed “Civil Rights Activists” agitate for anything BUT civil rights and, instead, endlessly petition the government for other people’s money. They also seek immunity from criminal sanctions, and race-based quotas for those lacking the requisite skills and abilities.
Likewise, “Labor Unions” don’t do much “laboring:” Their sole function is to agitate for MORE compensation for ever LESS work.
Marsha can romanticize the labor movement all she wants, but the fact that the unionized building trades get $50/ hour is why there are three other non-union guys getting $15 to $20 per hour. The latter have wives and kids, too !
