What a shock.

Ohio Union thugs stormed the Easy Street Cafe last night where a group of Republican lawmakers were dining. The union thugs attacked the owner and threatened the Republican lawmakers. Police had to be called to remove the thugs.
The Columbus Dispatch reported, via Free Republic:
The volatility surrounding the collective-bargaining debate spilled into the night Wednesday when police were called to a German Village restaurant after a group verbally accosted a gathering of Senate Republicans.
After the vote on Senate Bill 5, seven Republican senators, including President Tom Niehaus, R-New Richmond, grabbed dinner at the Easy Street Cafe. As the lawmakers neared the end of their meal, a group of five to 10 union supporters angry about the passage of the bill hours before burst into the restaurant and began shouting.
The commotion eventually led to pushing and shoving with the restaurant staff and owner, before police arrived to calm the situation as a police helicopter hovered overhead. No senators were involved in the physical altercations, and no charges have been filed.
“It could have (gotten physical),” said Sen. Frank LaRose, 31, a Fairlawn Republican who served as a Green Beret. “The group was agitated and they were shoving the owner, and he had nothing to do with this.”
LaRose said it didn’t take special intelligence training to notice that while the lawmakers were eating, a woman walked past the window several times, poked her head in the door and got on her cell phone.
“It was planned,” LaRose said. “They gathered as a group and waited until they had about 10 people before they caused a disturbance.”
Don’t expect this to get much play in the state-run media.
It doesn’t fit their narrative.

Let’s get something straight here.
Whenever there is a threat of physical violence caused by union thugs, other union members are being called in to keep the peace.
At some point, this will have serious repercussions.

Of course there is a difference in how the media reports on the union protestors. The unions are clearly and obviously right and they are fighting on the side of the angels. Sometimes you have to fight hard for justice against evil.
Of course anyone who is conservative is evil, racist and they hate poor people and eat little babies for dinner. They laugh while the poor suffer. So their evil & hate must be exposed.
It couldn’t be more simple.

The GOP aer lucky that is all that happened. These thugs are downright murderers. Look up Richard TRumpka and a murder he was involved in back in the 80′s – funny he is walking free. Wonder how that happened?

They must always press charges! They will be able to get criminal back grounds of those people.

In the 70′s in Detroit, Union members at the news paper companies would drop nails in front moving delivery vans on the freeways. This ended when innocent people were killed in horrible accidents.

Why repubs aren’t fighting back hard just amazes me. It’s inevitable someone’s gonna die.

I agree Patman, someone is gonna die or there will at least be some serious injuries or a house burning down or something. The anarchic atmosphere combined with union goons and an attitude of entitlement is a recipe for disaster. It’s not an “if” but “when” unless it changes course really soon.
JPL17 commented:
How appropriate that the restaurant where the attack took place is the “German Village,” since the union thugs are now modeling themselves on the brownshirts.
Granny commented:
The funniest part of this story has been left out. The gal who followed the Republicans to the restaurant and orchestrated this is a bigwig in the SEIU – and she is married to a Republican senator.

Libs count on us to back down when things heat up because we know what they will resort to. Sadly, I think we are going to see their tactics worsen and a tragedy will occur. Conservatives are no longer willing to concede to liberals because we see the destruction of our country at their hands. We can thank Barry WTF for that.

Note that the restaurant serves alcohol. That means that under Ohio law, concealed carry license holders cannot carry inside that restaurant. I would recommend two things. First, pass restaurant carry in Ohio. Second, stop going to restaurants with alcohol until restaurant carry is passed.

“Follow the money” is actually good advice when looking at this issue. The State requires employees to join unions, then collects all dues for the unions as an automatic payroll “tax”, then the unions use that money to fund 20% of the total re-election costs for the Democrats who collude with them in this big money racket. Follow the money indeed.
And look at this for overall donations – http://www.opensecrets.org/overview/topcontribs.php
Teachers have two unions in the top 5 in overall political donations.
Koch Industries is #42. they are big, but tiny compared to the unions who own the Democrats.
Radegunda commented:
Troll, since you’re so obsessed with the Koch brothers, and your fevered little brain imagines that they’re secretly programming our every thought, why don’t you tell your lovely, peaceful government union friends to divest themselves of their substantial holdings in Koch Industries businesses? Isn’t it EVIL to have the slightest connection to the Koch brothers?
The obsession with the Kochs is hilarious. Lefties are so accustomed to taking their marching orders from some powerful master, they can’t imagine how other people (i.e. conservatives) actually think for themselves.
jzaik commented:
Holy Sh#t! These people have some chutzpah. What makes them think that they can literally beat the crap out of people? This is civility?
donh commented:
Follow the money ? There is no conservative corporation that stands to make a fat profit by commanding Gov. Walker to balance the budget. Corporate welfare is the agenda of the fascist left who forced without the legitimacy of a democratic vote we tax payers assume ownership of failing Unionized car companies to keep your bloated pension plans from being voided in bankruptcy. It is fascist public service unions who demanded the democrat party alligned with liberal Bush family republicans buyout bankrupt giants like AIG because your pension plans held large stock stakes in these corrupt corporations that were at risk of becoming worthless. So again people who do not have union organized political clout, the small private citizen, has to carry you by not only paying our taxes to the government , but by having to put big bloated wasteful corporations under pubic ownership because their stock certificates and bond papers finance your retirement.

More mob rule like in Germany and Austria in the 1930s.
@Walker’s a Koch head: you have an actual argument or are just going to spew the usual leftwing crap?
SamRitter5000 commented:
In moving against the Public Employee Unions, Gov. Walker is fighting a very winnable battle as he stands up for the taxpayers. Even many private union members can see that the PEUs are very different from them.
But when other states take on those same private unions, it makes it harder for conservatives to win. We must fight one battle at a time. Otherwise, Right to Work will become our Obamacare. Check this out:
http://samschaos.blogspot.com/2011/03/for-gop-right-to-work-obamacare.html
Trying to bite off too much at one time will cost us if we are not careful. The GOP needs to think before going into battle against the private unions.
tommy mc donnell commented:
more people who didn’t hear obama’s wonderful speech on civility in arizona. i wonder how many of the people in OFA and SEIU and the AFL-CIO were in washington planning these demonstrations while obama was giving that speech. and i hate to say that because i’m a union supporter but sometimes the truth hurts.

Why Does Mainstream Media Leave George Soros Alone?
Wisconsin’s battle over the union label continues to resonate nationwide. Lefties complain about conservative funders David and Charles Koch in often obscene fashion, making juvenile plays on their last name and prank calls like troublesome children. The so-called mainstream media are heavily invested in that strategy, calling the Koch brothers some of the “biggest bankrollers” for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
It’s a theme that almost defies reason. The Kochs openly support things they believe in – especially free markets and limited government. To media types, those beliefs are suspect or even audacious. To the left, they’re criminal or anti-American. Both groups claim to question everything.
Everything, that is, except who funds the left. When that gets mentioned, there is either complete silence or cries of conspiracy at the mere mention of the name George Soros. Yet Soros has given billions around the globe for decades to push his own beliefs. His impact on liberal politics here in the U.S. is unparalleled.

I know there are good people out there who happen to be union members–I pray they are looking into what and who their leaders associate with–and realize that the global communism and “workers of the world unite” goals they have means lowering the standard of living for American union members to the enth degree.
And all the while, they are using your union dues to make themselves rich, while getting you to say “tax the rich more”…knowing they’ll get a “pass” on tax increases & its the middle class that will end up paying more. Do you not get it? If you’re union and pay dues & taxes, then you ARE the tax payers that will pay higher rates! You are paying the union leaders to get you to screw yourselves! Wake up!

It would have been a short fight. In 1974, I went to a party with the bookkeeper at my job. He was a mild mannered guy who live in the next apartment to me. We got there an I was in the living room of this party, where I didn’t know anyone, he was in the kitchen when he apparently hit on the wrong gal. Somebody yelled to me, “hey, there’s five guys going to kick your friend’s a$$ out back. By the time I ran to the back steps, all five of them were out cold. I saw the last one get a roundhouse kick to the head and saw his eyes roll up on the way down. The guy never mentioned he was a Green Beret. I guess he never mentioned it to the thugs, either.

Take this what you will, the States need to make adjustments and you will have to change!!!

Having worked as a non-union office worker in a construction trade union shop, I can tell you that many union workers have done time and have extensive criminal backgrounds. One of our foremen could not work on any project where children were likely to be present-schools, etc., another foreman had served in prison for burglary and assault with a deadly weapon, a journeyman did time for driving the getaway car in a bank robbery.
I don’t know how picky public unions are about the caliber of people they accept into their membership, but the construction trade unions will take anyone who walks in the door and leave it up to the employer to be responsible for background checks and drug testing.
