The red apple does not fall far from the tree.
Jesse Jackson Jr. wants the “right to economic security” to be added to the US Constitution.
He says it will happen one day.
Via The Right Scoop:
In fact, THIS IS part of the Soviet Constitution:
Chapter 7: THE BASIC RIGHTS, FREEDOMS, AND DUTIES OF CITIZENS OF THE USSR
Article 39. Citizens of the USSR enjoy in full the social, economic, political and personal rights and freedoms proclaimed and guaranteed by the Constitution of the USSR and by Soviet laws. The socialist system ensures enlargement of the rights and freedoms of citizens and continuous improvement of their living standards as social, economic, and cultural development programmes are fulfilled. Enjoyment by citizens of their rights and freedoms must not be to the detriment of the interests of society or the state, or infringe the rights of other citizens.
Article 40. Citizens of the USSR have the right to work (that is, to guaranteed employment and pay in accordance wit the quantity and quality of their work, and not below the state-established minimum), including the right to choose their trade or profession, type of job and work in accordance with their inclinations, abilities, training and education, with due account of the needs of society.
This right is ensured by the socialist economic system, steady growth of the productive forces, free vocational and professional training, improvement of skills, training in new trades or professions, and development of the systems of vocational guidance and job placement.

[The thing about "wealth" is that there is more than one way to measure it. Traditionally it is measured in dollars, but there are many other scales. You can be "rich" in ways that have nothing to do with money. For example:
Rich in friends—A person who cultivates friendships and who is a joy to be around can have hundreds of good friends and can be rich beyond the wildest dreams of others.
Rich in health—A person who spends time eating right, exercising and relaxing from stress can be extremely healthy, and this health can be far more valuable than any amount of money.
Rich in strength—A person who works out with weights every day, runs, swims, etc. can be rich in strength and will have an attractive body.
Rich in family—A person who devotes time to his or her spouse and children will have a strong and happy family that is rewarding throughout life.
Rich in knowledge—A person who reads and studies will become rich in knowledge.
Rich in skill—A person who practices anything daily (a skill, a sport, prayer, whatever) will become excellent in that skill area. Excellence has its own rewards.
Rich in character— A person who works hard at being honest and truthful in all situations will become rich in character and will be trusted by everyone.
One funny thing about all of these different areas ]

There is a fundamental difference between Liberals and Americans.
Liberals believe the Constitution gives them rights such as the right to abortion, to privacy, to sodomy, to universal health care etc.
Americans believe the Constitution limits the power of government. By limiting the power of government, our GOD given rights are protected.
Free Speech, Congress shall make no law, except Sen. McAmnesty’s campaign finance law
Gun Rights, shall no be infringed except for reasonable reasons like if the government wants to ban guns because they scare the children, like Pres. Bush’s Solictor General advocated.
Unreasonable Searches, the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, except at the airport where little girls are gate raped.

Edouard commented:
To say there must be a constitutional “right” in America to anything economic is to reestablish the legal enslavement of American workers as a consequence.
To undertake forced uncompensated labor — with the benefits of that labor accruing, by law, to others who may be non-workers — is indeed to be a slave.
It’s the same thing as “the right to health care”, which effectively converts workers in the health field into slaves. If health care is a right, then care providers are legally bound to offer their commodity as an enforceable duty — because those who have been granted the so-called “right” are legally entitled to receive that commodity, whether paid for or not.

I think have to disagree with you, public school has dumbed down the children by skipping the three R’s and are teaching social education. They have been preparing for many years to have an ignorant populace that serves the ruling class that has no true interpretation of history (which evolved into social studies), geography, english language, etc.
When they started ignoring the taxpayers and passing bills that they didn’t even know what was in it was when the ruling class took the reins of the country. Democracy died in Wisconsin two weeks ago. They have union workers as their enforcer. What they haven’t done yet is taken peoples spirit, and they can not take that without a fight. If it comes to the fight, that is when they will find out that they’ve overplayed their hand.

Amazing how far the damn Communists have gone. If we have a right to work it follows we have a right to work at any wage we negotiate with an employer, but try it in the U.S. with it’s minimum wage law. Jackson is gonna have to wait a while, that will never be in the Constitution.

in a free country nobody can have a right to anything that someone else has to work to provide. for someone to have a right to a part or all of the fruits of someone else’s labor is slavery. they patriots fought a revolution to have the right to the fruits of their labor, liberals has been fighting for over a hundred years to take that right away. yet you can’t find one UNION LEADER(not union worker)in america who will say a word about it. marxism is a monarchy without the titles.

Wow, that’s great! Just put new “Rights” in the Constitution and magically jobs, houses, Doctors will appear, why that is just awesome. Uh who pays for all these “Rights” Jesse Jackass?
Sorry Jesse Jackass rights don’t come from Government and as Walter Williams brilliantly reminds us, “a right is something that exists simultaneously among people. A right confers no obligation on another…There is no Santa Claus or Tooth Fairy. If you don’t have money to pay for decent housing or medical services, and the government gives you a right to those services, where do you think the money comes from?”
