What sad news.

Geraldine Ferraro passed away today. She was an attorney and US Representative. She was 75.

During the 2008 election Geraldine Ferraro was viciously attacked by the left for suggesting that Obama was winning because he was black.

Of course, the far left savaged her after these “racist” comments.

She will be missed.
CNN reported:

Geraldine Ferraro, a former congresswoman and vice presidential candidate, has died, according to family statement. She was 75.

In 1984, Ferraro was the first female vice presidential candidate from a major U.S. political party when she ran with Democratic presidential candidate Walter Mondale. They lost by a landslide to Republican presidential candidate Ronald Reagan and vice presidential candidate George H.W. Bush.

In what became the first of Reagan’s two terms in the White House, the Reagan-Bush ticket won the popular vote 58.8% to 40% and then nearly swept the electoral votes, 525 to 13.

  1. My sincere condolences to the family of Geraldine Ferraro. Although we differed politically most of the time, I always thought she represented her views with dignity and class. She was a Democrat who really did seem to love America and want to serve it well, and that will be missed.

  2. ++

    aww, RIP Geraldine..

    sincere sympathies to all concerned..

  3. What a gracious, lovely person. God bless her, her family and friends.

  4. “They lost by a landslide to Republican presidential candidate Ronald Reagan and vice presidential candidate George H.W. Bush. In what became the first of Reagan’s two terms in the White House,…”

Wouldn’t it be the SECOND term race against Reagan seeing as the first was against Carter?

  5. Rest in peace Mrs.Ferraro.You will be missed as you were one of the old time Democrats that truly loved and respected our country and wanted to make it better. So unlike the ones that are now in the party that apologise for all our accomplishments and hate it and want to tear it down..My condolences to the family.

  6. A real Dem bites the dust. Lover of her country who always speaks the truth. May you meet the face of God.
    Rest in Peace.

  7. She was right. Obama was ONLY elected because he was black. He ONLY got to Harvard Law Review and Won a Nobel prize because he was black.

So many media elites wanted to commit reverse racism that they simply didn’t care what his qualifications were in any other area. Now they discover he’s a jive talkin moron, but they’ve committed themselves to helping him.

If they hadn’t been so willing to apply the soft racism of low expectations, they would have realized he was a moron.

  8. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

  9. RIP, Ms. Ferraro

  10. G-D speed. Ms. Ferraro. Servant to the good of the republic.

  11. RIP, Geraldine. If it hadn’t been for Mondale and that you were a democrat, if you ran with RR and were his vp, you would have been president instead of GHWB, EASILY.

You told it like it is. That’s something you can’t do these days.
I salute you and hope that you will watch over this country and put a good word in for us with the Big Guy considering that now 6 states according to a recent poll are Godless (except for the muslims of course).

I think this is why Mrs. Clinton is not running. All her support team scaffolding is dying off. Its a different ERA and women are only wanted if they are quiet and not Sarah Palin or Michelle Buchmann.

  12. Mrs. Ferraro and I share something in common: We both have multiple myeloma. It is a nasty and difficult cancer to detect and it can do damage without presenting any obvious symptoms. There is at this time no cure. Some, through certain treatments can go into remission, others like Mrs. Ferraro can die from complications like other cancer sufferers.

God Bless Geraldine and her family. Cancer sucks and it wrecks lives.

  13. While Mrs. Ferraro and I had little in common politically, we were in lock-step on the things that really matter — faith, family, character, and protecting our country.

She took a lot of heat from her Democrat cohorts when she became a paid commentator for FOX News. I liked her grit. She was always respectful when debating her colleagues across the aisle.
