Barack Obama told Americans today in his Weekly Address,

“We need a government that lives within its means.”

Barack Obama tripled the national deficit in his first year in office. In his second year the deficit was again a record $1.29 Trillion. This year the deficit will be even higher.

This chart was updated to reflect the recent news that the deficit this year will reach $1.65 trillion. (The Captain’s Comments)

Barack Obama is the last person on earth who should be lecturing on “living within our means.”

He made the same statement two days ago.

    Of course, ‘we’, means you – all other Americans; Obama wants the American people to live within their means, the means he determines, as he takes your earnings away and leaves you without any discretionary monies to spend on your own choices. He would have used the word “I” if he was talking about himself.

    First, if he truly believed this, he would fully support the Republicans’ House budget to cut $61 billion and reject the Dems’ alternate proposal to cut a measly $6.5 billion that they say meets the Republicans halfway. And just that halfway calculation by the Dems explains why they have made a disastrous mess out of the country’s deficit—they can’t do math.

    Secondly, this insincere and phony position taken by Obama is another one of its efforts to take both sides of an issue in preparation for his bid to get re-elected. Can’t you just hear it now? I’ve always said we as a country should live within our means. Listen for it next year. He will say this crap on more than one occasion during his campaign. And he will blame the Republicans and whoever is running against him for standing in the way of this country not getting to fiscal responsibility.

    His actions speak louder than his words. This liar and deceiver has to go.
