You knew this was coming.

The far left cranks at the Associated Press wasted no time smearing James O’Keefe and the NPR tapes that were released yesterday.
The AP claims the video was “heavily edited.”
The heavily edited video shows Schiller and another NPR executive, Betsy Liley, meeting at a pricey restaurant in Washington’s Georgetown neighborhood with two men claiming to be part of a Muslim organization. The men offer NPR a $5 million donation. NPR said Tuesday it was “repeatedly pressured” to accept a $5 million check, which the organization “repeatedly refused.”
The AP obviously didn’t check out James O’Keefe’s website before they wrote their report:

The front page of Project Veritas has a link to full unedited video.
But, why report the truth when you can smear a conservative online journalist instead?
Of course, the fact that the AP would carry water for NPR surprises no one.

Beautiful.

If the video was so “edited”, why did the Schillers have to be fired or resign? Arrogant liars.
RedBeard commented:
“Heavily edited,” in AP-speak, means “please ignore this story, because it looks bad for our leftie friends.”
The Mad Jewess commented:
Amen, Redbeard!!
They HATE O’keefe.
But you all know what? That was only PART 1!!!
There is probably a part 2 & 3 LOL
I cant wait!

NPR CEO Vivian Schiller leaving. Rumor has it she was forced out.
What a great day. O’Keefe is a hero.

Let me add that we conservatives often feel downhearted about many things, including the way young people seem to be lost and misguided by the liberal legion of aevil-doers… but consider this guy James O’Keefe. What a hero and guiding light! I feel like getting a photo of him and putting it up on the wall for inspiration. H.E.R.O.

next, stop funding for this left wing propaganda machines, npr and pbs.
i don’t support their side’s thinking, therefore, my tax dollars should not be sent to these propaganda organizations.
would like to know where these two will be employed next. they are anti-americans and i think they should be watched. vengeance is a dirty trait among liberals.
NickDeringer commented:
So if the video is bogus, why did Schiller resign?
Trish commented:
O’Keefe IS a hero, and the left ALWAYS does this sort of back pedaling when they are caught with their pants down. If it weren’t true, the people who were caught would have had a decent explanation for whatever it is they said; but of course we HEARD the words that came out of his mouth, kind of like when we heard the words spoken by Acorn workers, and they were truly damning! No amount of editing would have made Schiller’s disgusting portrayal of Tea Party members sound any sweeter.
Morons. You cannnot pretend to be morally superior and then actually say this kind of nasty rhetoric. It IS the left who are hate speakers. It is the left who don’t have any tolerance. As Dennis Praeger said, Tea Parties were like CHurch picnics compared to the way the Union protests are turning out!
So, finally we can all agree, NPR is a totally liberal radio network, and liberals are totally fascist!
forest commented:
Heavily edited huh? So it’s pretty much like every MSM story that utilizes video clips except longer and less edited?
I guess they are trying to imply that it was dishonestly edited, but it was good enough for NPR – both Schillers fired.
Tim commented:
Well, guess the jokes on the AP…Schiller has been canned due to the outrageous “edited” remarks.

Hats off to O’keefe et al. You guys are some old school gum-shoe journalists reincarnated with micro-electronics. woot!

This wouldn’t be the same AP that reported on the story of the WI Democraps offering to meet governor Walker at the border without mentioning once that the meeting was not to be in Madison but rather out of state, while reporting that Walker refused to meet with them. That AP. A hole Press.

… oh and Vivian ‘resigned’ the day after it came out.
I’m just guessing here, but I think Mr. O’Keefe had the goods on her in parts 2 and 3, and the NPR board figured they’d better get ahead of the story if there’s to be any hope of saving the Federal cash cow.
Well played, Mr. O’Keefe, well played.

I am curious to know what heavily edited means and doesn’t mean for some folks. If you look at the time stamps, they are all over the place and out of order. And the whole 2 hour conversation is really, really boring. How many have actually watched it in its entirety? Not many from the comments I read here. And for those who think that Ron Schiller was fired over it, he already had put in his notice that he was taking another job before this meeting. He just ended his date earlier after this. Now Vivien, that is a different story. I expect a total changing of the guard over there.
If you watch the full video, you will find out that the fake Muslim Brotherhood / O’Keefe chose the restaurant, and neither Schiller or Liley had been there before. They also took a cab to the restaurant.
Take two groups of people, one with a agenda, one with out, sit them down for two hours, and you will get the tasty tidbits needed to edit a masterpiece of embarrassment like this.

If they had no intention of accepting the 5 million dollars, then what in the world were they doing in a posh restaurant being wined and dined by this fake Muslim organization?

Do you watch the raw rushes in their entirety on which heavily edited MSM stories are crafted? I rarely do even if available. It’s dull. Like you point out in this case, the 2 hour conversation was “really, really boring” – hence the need for editing – pretty much the same as with all video news stories. Although one difference is that O’Keefe often makes raw tapes available while the MSM rarely does.
As you also point out, the NPR people went to meet “fake Muslim Brotherhood” guys. The NPR geniuses went to meet people who they thought were from a group founded by the MB, and were calling for worldwide sharia on their website. No editing can fake that stupidity. No editing can fake Schiller’s blatant misrepresentation and disdain for the Tea Party either. Or his gross and totally unsupportable elitism.
The NPR board isn’t even buying this shinola about “editing”.

what puzzles me is, why now??
i mean, the MB has been influencing NPR since the late
90′s, and for all we know, perhaps much longer than that..

Steve White commented:
With regard to #24, Independent Thinker’s comment on the editing, of course it was edited. 60 Minutes edits their video interviews — you’ll see 20 seconds of what might have been a 3 hour interview with someone. Every news show does that, and it isn’t a problem.
Except when a person’s words are taken out of context.
Which is what the AP accused Mr. O’Keefe of doing.
The correct response? Release the whole interview and let people decide for themselves. With the internet and fast connections this is feasible.
Now, if 60 Minutes would do the same at the CBS website, we’d really be getting somewhere new in journalism.
Rob Crawford commented:

O’Keefe did that. Before the AP drones wrote their story.
The lesson here is that the left lies, always.
