If you spot these dangerous loafers please proceed with caution.
Call 1-608-266-3212 at once. (Wisconsin Highway Patrol)

State troopers were sent out this morning to retrieve the AWOL state democratic senators.
TMJ4 reported:

According to the Wisconsin senate majority leader, the Governor’s office is sending out state troopers to go after Wisconsin’s Democratic Senate members to bring in a vote on Governor Walker’s budget bill which would dramatically limit government workers union’s ability to negotiate many of their benefits.

“They are prepared to dispatch state troopers to go out to some of the residences of some of the senators,” said Republican State Senator Scott Fitzgerald on Newsradio 620 WTMJ’s “Midday with Charlie Sykes.”

“We don’t know that everybody is out of state. These troopers are going to go and try to escort these senators back to the chamber.”

The State Patrol cannot go after the Democratic senators who have left the state, and Democratic State Senator Jon Erpenbach told “Wisconsin’s Morning News” that all 14 Democratic Senate members have fled Wisconsin and have not announced a timetable for their return.

UPDATE: 64% of Americans agree with Governor Walker that government employees should not be represented by labor unions.

UPDATE: The Wisconsin democrats are hiding in Chicago!

UPDATE: Here’s a picture of the car they’re driving.

  1. Caution: The lefty radicals may be escorted by armed and dangerous union thugs!!!

  2. Walker- Texas Ranger.

  3. These crazy Dems must be made to pay out of pocket for these shenanigans – bus, driver, hotels, bars, food, gas, and take non-paid vacation time, etc.

  4. IF I lived in WI, I would be furious that my tax dollars were going to pay for these so-called legislators failing to show up to do they’re jobs OR to the teachers who decided to skip school (and in some cases bring students along for the experience of participating in anarchy at the StateHouse).

What is really infuriating to me is that BHO and the DNC are busing in all these SEIU and ACORN and OFA goons ……….. and the media is silent. Not surprising, just infuriating.

If these protests go nationwide ……………… Greece in full and living color.

  5. We are furious and we aren’t remaining silent!! This may be the hill the silent majority is willing to die on…or at least climb and scream “NO MORE”!

  6. Get those bastids and make them pay in the next elections.

  7. Rush is calling for an investigation into the use of tax dollars for the striking teachers, etc.

  8. The only way Gov. Walker can send the State Police after those Dem legislators is if a court has issued a Writ of Mandamus. See Section 3455 of the Wisconsin State Law. Once a Writ of Mandamus has been issued fleeing the State to avoid being compelled to appear in the State Assembly becomes felony Interstate Flight to Avoid a Court Order.

While the Wisconsin State Police do not have the Jurisdiction to arrest those Dem Legislators in Illinois, the Wisconsin State Attorney General can then issue a Felony Interstate Flight arrest Warrant and send it to the Illinois State Attorney General and request that the Illinois State Police execute it and extradite those Dem Legislators back to Wisconsin.

If that happens and those Dem Legislators are arrested they face a near certain Felony Conviction and removal from office according to Wisconsin State Law.

Gov. Walker isnt screwing around with these guys…

  9. Tar & Feather them, then drag their sorry butts back to vote!

    ________

Good for Rush! I would also question the use of DNC funds for this.

  11. And the Dems rediculed Sara Palin for leaving her state. ???????????

Look what we have NOW. This VOTE is most important for Wisconsin and
    they RUN the other way..

Elections look even better come NOVEMBER…….

  12. Use the union dues to pay for the insurance and pension and they probably wouldnt cost them a dime

  13. “9.10(1)(a)
    (a) The qualified electors of the state, of any county, city, village, or town, of any congressional, legislative, judicial, town sanitary, or school district, or of any prosecutorial unit may petition for the recall of any incumbent elective official by filing a petition with the same official or agency with whom nomination papers or declarations of candidacy for the office are filed demanding the recall of the officeholder.”

  14. Every state in the union should pass a law that states that any elected official who does this to avoid doing the duty of the office that they sworn an oath on should be immediately removed from office and a special election should be held within 30 days to fill his or her seat.

  16. Walker should sue the media for collusion – for refusing to disclose the location of these renegade Dem state senators.

  17. Obama did say he wanted to be Lincoln. Will he order troops and declare martial law to put down the rebellion? After he whips it into a frenzy of course and actually gets the other side to respond.

This could very well mean the beginning of the literal end of the USA – and open revolution.

  19. RE: the “poll update”

“Clarus is a division of the global corporate public relations giant Qorvis, not exactly a labor bastion.”

Check your sources before you chant that this is what Americans truly believe

  20. Collective Bargaining of Public Employee Unions = Union members bargaining with politicians they helped elect, spending other people’s money who have no say.

  21. this angers me more knowing that there are millions….MILLIONS…of hard working Americans out there who would LOVE to have any of those jobs in order to support their families. These teachers instead, because of these corrupt unions, have instilled in them a sense of entitlement…..this strike is about benefits!!! They are being asked to contribute into their own pensions, and at a rate that is lower than what the private sector provides! and they are not eliminating unions, they are making it optional. If Unions were such a great thing, why woudl they be afraid of it being optional?

the liberals and Demokkkrats are destroying are country with their spending and laziness. Get to work people! I say, fire all the Wisconsin lazy-asses, have an open job fair, and fill the positions with unemployed teachers. They will immediately have thousands of applicants, the jobs can be filled in a week, and they can have all of the relocation costs for the new teachers paid for by the old fired teachers pensions, which are forfeited due to dereliction of duty.

The USA is in trouble, and if you are not going to help with the productivity of this country, then get out of the way.

Stay classy, lazy liberals, and go pray to your Obama-idol while the rest of us get to work putting this country back together.

  22. FDR was against collective bargaining for public employees.

In a little-known letter FDR wrote to the president of the National Federation of Federal Employees in 1937

“… Meticulous attention should be paid to the special relationships and obligations of public servants to the public itself and to the government. All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations … The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for … officials … to bind the employer … The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives

  23. Dear Governor Walker, give the teachers an ultimatum. Be at work Monday at 8 a.m. or you don’t need to come back at all.

  24. And in Idaho, the state Superintendent of Schools has had his truck vandalized, and he and his family have been threatened by someone claiming to be a “teacher” over the Superintendent’s proposed education reform plan -

    http://www.idahopress.com/news/article_44f83a1a-3921-11e0-ace1-001cc4c002e0.html

Sounds to me like every parent in the country needs to take their children out of the public schools for their own safety. Homeschooling is your right in every state in the nation and it is much easier than you think!

  25. #22decent American – correct. There are plenty of qualified unemployed who would love a teaching job in Wisconsin. I say start mailing your resumes to the Wisconsin Education Dept. You might just get lucky!

  26. Thugs/Democrats going to Chicago?

  27. I just heard from World Net Daily that the Supreme Court is considering taking the latest case to consider Obama’s elegibility to be president. Keep fingers crossed!!

  28. Any reason why the GOP Senators couldn’t get in their own bus, find the cowardly Dems in whatever hotel they’re bunkered in, and convene the Senate right there?

  32. If these DONKS weren’t so pathetic, this might be worth lol..ing about:

Latest nickname for the AWOL Wisconsin Dems: Flee baggers.

  33. thanks #35 Catherine. These Union thug bosses have 2-3 X the salary of the average teacher, and yet these teachers are out risking their careers, and sacrificing their students’ educations, all to make sure that their Union bosses get to keep rolling in the dough?

HEY WISCONSIN TEACHERS……STOP and think about what you’re doing, are you like……CRAZY? STUPID? Is it really worth it? Do you know that the deal that Walkerk is proposing is actually better than MOST other states, and better than even jobs in the private sector?

STAND AND THINK FOR YOURSELF, JUST FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE.

Oh sheesh, can’t believe I’m asking lunatic racist liberals to think for themselves…..

  34. House just voted to defund Planned Parenthood!!

  35. Hockeyman77,
its not a D vs R issue, they need 20 senators there of any affiliation.
there are 19 people there right now so they need 1 more.

  36. All of them fit in that car?

  37. Ah yes, of course – Chicago, the center of the hack universe. How appropriate.

  38. Criminals can always find a Chicago democrat to aid and abet them.

  39. #33, how would that help? They’d still have the same 19 people. They need 20 for a quorum. It doesn’t matter what party they’re in.

  40. 29 more days until they are Illinois residents

  41. I see the french-dems escaping to the security of Chicago Bear fans are doing it in a foreign car. I thought demwits were all for the UAW union worker? What’s up with the Japanese car demwits?

  42. If they choose to flee Chicago and head back to Wisconsin, it only seems appropriate that they head to the Little Bohemia Lodge.

Hey, it worked for Dillinger for a while.

  43. “Flee-Baggers Are Hiding In Chicago”

Check Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod’s house for details.

  44. Fleebaggers!!! I like that!!!But maybe it should be fleabaggers-you sleep with dogs, you get fleas!!!

  45. Perhaps the gov needs to just go ahead and fire the teachers? I understand that might not be his first impulse, but does he need the legislature in session to just fire them. How about a deadline for them to get back to work, a la Reagan and the air traffic controllers? Then, boom.

  46. What the DNC and unions are engaging in is more commonly called TERRORISM!

    ter·ror·ism /ˈtɛrəˌrɪzəm/ Show Spelled[ter-uh-riz-uhm] –noun

    1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.

    2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.

    3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.

All three of these definitions clearly define their actions!

  47. Chicago as a “Sanctuary City” for fugitive Democrat legislators? Its not just for illegal aliens anymore!

  48. But of course. Obama has a safe house there.

  49. Citizens of most states have the right of referendum. Therefore, in 2012, the following two questions should be put on the ballot in every such state:

    1. Should public employees not involved in public safety or emergency response enjoy the right of collective bargaining within this state?
    2. Should public safety and emergency response employees enjoy the right of collective bargaining within this state?

This could pit the public employee unions against each other. Divide/conquer.

  50. They are doing exactly what the Texas Eleven did when they ran off to NM for 46 days to avoid a vote in 2003.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Eleven

  51. Why the outrage? When given lemons, make lemonade. The WI state republicans should see this as a godsend to pass every piece of legislation that only requires a simple majority to pass. After the shock wave hits the democrats they wi rush back and it will be too late to undo the legislation and then hit him with the spending cuts.

  52. The real question is, at what point can these legislative seats be declared vacant and special elections scheduled? And how does that get done; there must be some provision. Let’s have 14 special elections in Wisconsin on the question of whether legislators have to come to work, and whether the public employee unions are the real rulers of the state!

  53. Let’s take a look at the union boss salaries these idiots are risking their own jobs for:

    AFSCME – Geral McEntee – $479,328/yr

American Federation of Teachers – Antonio Cortese – $320,136/yr

National Education Association – Reg Weaver – $417,858

    IAFF (Firefighters) – Harold Schaitberger – $318,574/yr

    SEIU – Andy Stern – $306,388/yr

    AFL-CIO – John Sweeney, Int. Pres. – $309,472/yr and Richard Trumka, Secty – $260,781/yr.

This is salary, not salary plus expense accounts.

Nothing like laying your own job on the line for greedy union bastard bosses.

  54. This story is absolutely delicious from an American perspective.

  55. Oh yeah, pass the popcorn.

  56. And what is Jesse Jackson, the great divider, going to accomplish by infusing himself into this mess? That’s right! Throw race into the mix! Oh goodie. More anarchy and chaos! I wonder, will Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and Sean Hannity be blamed when the first shot is fired in that unruly crowd because so much anger and hatred has been thrown into it that people can no longer control themselves? We’ve got the President, the DNC, out-of-state union people, and now Jesse Jackson, all inserting themselves into something they have no business getting into, and this boiling teapot is eventually going to explode. But hey…. it’s Sarah’s fault, right?

  57. #41: Well, they *are* clowns, after all.

  58. There needs to be an executive order immediately suspending any issuance of payments for payroll and/or expenses to these AWOL state employees (legislators and teachers). All payment should be held until full evidence is provided that their absence was authorized (e.g. doctors notes). In cases where there is evidence that employees were not ill, any doctor issuing a note should also be on notice that they may be investigated for criminal acts should they provide fictional representations.

My family and I are extremely incensed: hard working, tax paying, government union subsidizing private sector employees are FIRED for skipping out on work without an authorized excuse. We also don’t have FREE health insurance and FREE pensions. In fact, we pay the overwhelming majority for ours.

It’d be one thing if they did it with their money, but it’s ours, and we don’t have any more we can give.

  59. FLEE BAGGERS! Will Anderson Cooper pick up on this euphemism?

  60. Obama, Friend of Workers … NOT

The Obama administration rescinded most of a federal regulation Friday designed to protect health workers who refuse to provide care they find objectionable on personal or religious grounds. The Health and Human Services Department eliminated nearly the entire rule put into effect by the administration of President George W. Bush during his final days in office that was widely interpreted as allowing such workers to opt out of a broad range of medical services, such as providing the emergency contraceptive Plan B, treating gay men and lesbians and prescribing birth control to single women.

  61. I’d think it would have to be a member of the WI senate who petitioned a WI court for a Writ of Mandamus, haven’t heard anything about that. But the WI constitution provides (Art. IV &sect: 7) each house “may compel the attendance of absent members in such manner and under such penalties as each house may provide.” Anyone know what the senate’s current rules on this are?

Recall and Impeachment are other possible avenues.

Attending the senate in response to a Call of the House would certainly seem to fit the definition of ministerial act.

  62. taxpayers have no rights to negotiate a contract between the teacher’s union and the politicians. we see the aftermath of a negotiated contract when our property taxes go up. seems like fascism to me.

“Where’s the Cash? We Need It Fast!” – a wonderful chant from another group of striking teachers.

  66. Should have said, Fox News needs to report on these salaries these goons make!!!

  69. Given that three of the Dems are women, doesn’t this qualify as a violation of the Mann Act?

  70. #

Jackson: Capitol protest “a real Martin Luther King moment”
has this guy been on the wrong side of everything. he was running around a few months ago touting the merits of obama’s “green jobs” agenda.

reminds me, i saw a posting questioning the need for a black history month. in the article was embedded a picture of a black girl who believed MLK freed the slaves. all i can think about was, damn it teachers, get back into your classrooms and do your job!

  71. No more free ride. Everyone should have skin in the game. These union thugs bottom feeders has got to stop sucking out taxpayers money.

  72. Hmmm. What would libs do if it was the other way around? Oh I know, they would surround these people’s homes with hundreds of goons and terrorize their families. They would ring doorbells of their homes and of their neighbors.

  73. Maybe the run away demo rats are at “Mans World” where the fraud goes a lot! Now he does not have to ….they come to him! :)

  74. Gov. Walker should start the layoffs of state employees. since the state senators are derelicts, they will receive the blame for the layoffs.

on another note, Speaker Boehner’s statement about Obama’s meddling with state affairs is so right on!

  75. FRIE THEM FOR INSUBORDINATION

  76. fire (typo)

  77. There’s a Tilted Kilt on Wabash in downtown Chicago, somebody should head over there!

  78. With the laws in place in this country, both Federal and State, there is no longer a need for a union, let alone a federal employees union. Only two things can come from this, either the union wins and the country devolves into chaos, or the people win and we start down the road to recovery. It’s your choice America.

  79. who is paying the bill for them to stay at these 300 dollar a night hotels? Are they getting a “government related” discount?
Similarly, who is paying for the teacher’s buses, the buses that took kids to the capitol and who told the kids to go, did they have their parents permission, who paid for the meals etc?
Presumably the local press has these stories, but they need more publicity.

  81. Love it…let’s all start using the term FLEE-BAGGERS for dems and libs…they are kind of like the French…when the heat is on, they run…

  82. So did any of these slim balls take any government owned property with them, IE lap tops, cell or satellite phones (all GPS traceable). If they have crossed state lines with state property, is there not some local law violated.

  83. I totally agree with decentAmerican commentary. Fire these teachers that do not care about their students and only their pockets. Their are plenty of recently college graduated trained teachers looking for work and more will be graduating. They cannot find jobs that are being held by teachers who are not teaching yet have ten year. Wisconsin’s education system needs new blood, teachers who are willing to work and not this crap about being paid for every extra thing they do.

  84. 64% of Americans support the governor? Look at the how the poll was conducted before you post. Only 1001 people (registered voters) were surveyed, so now 640 people represent 64% of Americans? Please explain how 640 people = 479,697,734 people (64% of America). Be realistic. Loyalties lie with those that serve you best

  85. “If you spot these dangerous loafers please proceed with caution.”

    Yes, they’re smarmy and disingenuous.

  86. If Walker has any stones he has easy and good comebacks.

    1. Issue a proclamation declaring that any senators who are not back in their chambers by Monday Morning have abandoned their offices, which will thereupon be deemed to be vacated.

    2. If they don’t show up, issue writs of election for their vacant seats.

    3. Fire their staffs, move their stuff out of the capitol, change the keys to their offices, and void their parking passes.

    4. Pull his proposed legislation and replace it with a bill that bans unionization for public employees, voids any collective bargaining agreements with public employee unions, and terminates the employment of any public employee who goes on strike, for cause and with a loss of benefits and seniority.

    5. Smoke a big cigar.

  87. You say they’re in Chicago, but the caption to picture of the car says, “Rockford,” which is 70 miles away? Either very incomplete info is causing needless confusion, or someone really needs a geography lesson.

  88. Dean, are you missing the point on purpose? It’s the MACROcosm that’s important, dude, not the microcosm. Who cares whether they’re in Chicago or Rockford? The point is, they’re AWOL!!! They fled their elected positions to avoid casting a vote. Sort of like Obama voting “present” well over a hundred times, rather than actually taking a stand.

  89. “Please explain how 640 people = 479,697,734 people (64% of America).”

Clearly mathematics was not your best subject.

The population of the United States is currently on the order of 310 million. 64% of that number would be about 198 million.

Th mathematical theory behind sampling and poling is beyond the grasp of people who cannot do simple arithmetic. But, its is well known that the counting of a sample of a population produces a distribution of population characteristics with an error bar that is roughly equal to the inverse of the square root of the sample size. A sample of 1000, should produce a distribution with an error of +/- 3.2%.

    It works tolerably well.

  90. how could anyone vote for these people.

  91. #98 479,697,734 is the number of registered democratic voters in the united states.

  92. Did anyone think to check Rahms house….???

  93. i obviously don’t have the popular opinion on this one, but as a wisconsin resident i’m proud of what these people are doing. they’re proving that the tens of thousands of protesters are having an impact and they’re listening.

also, please don’t be ignorant. for those of you saying that the workers should have to be back monday? that’s presidents day. before you get upset you should probably get your facts straight.

    KEEP RUNNING, WISCONSIN SENATORS!

  94. fire the UNIONS! FAT CATs!!!!! TREASON, TREASON!! FIRE the teachers ALL of them!!!!!!
THUGS–UNIONS destroy every business they touch!!!! You can’t compete with unions!!!!
DEMS are evil…tax..tax…tax….we are sic of them and all of the freebies–support illegals..on the backs..of me the taxpayer–laws for me but not them!!! FIRE the dems!!! all of them!!!

I AM sic of supporting illegals and UNIONS!!!!! DOwn with UNIONS!!!!!! AND get rid of affirmative action too!!!!!!

  95. I am imagining mouths gaped, screaming at computer monitors. Blood pressure rising like space shuttles sent to Mars. Paranoia and contempt is the great elixir of hyperbole and exhaustive lack of thought process. Congratulations. Your tax dollars are being spent on the state patrol being sent out looking for legislators who can’t be forcibly returned to the capitol or even state street? Free will is a bitch isn’t it?

  96. Katie – Since you assume no one has to work Monday I take it you are a government employee of some kind also? Those of us in the private sector don’t automatically get the day off. I would suggest the “tens of thousands” of protesters shouldn’t outweigh the hundreds of thousands or more voters. As Obama said, Elections matter.

  97. Media reports fail to show how mild the proposed restrictions on collective bargaining really are. It is my understanding that Wisconsin public sector unions can still bargain for higher salary. They just can’t bargain for higher benefits on top of salary and the worker out of paycheck contribution for medical insurance and retirement would be about average for government workers and low relative to the private sector. The reform also requires unions to be re-certified by the majority of workers every year and eliminates the automatic deduction of union dues from paychecks. This bill would weaken public sector unions, but it wouldn’t outlaw them.

  98. I should print up the poster listed above and pass it out at McCormack Place Hotel and Convention Center with a reward…………..
