During today’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney responded to a question from CBS News correspondent Mark Knoller about when people might expect to hear President Barack Obama address the situation in Libya. Carney said the reason why they haven’t yet: Scheduling.
The Daily Caller reported:

The president didn’t have time to speak about Libya but he did find time to substitute coach last weekend.
Priorities.

    I have to give a little to Obama on this. We have many American citizens in Libya trying to get out and Libya has denied US aircraft to come get them. It could lead to a large hostage situation with this mad man. Until those citizens are out, is it wise to provoke the nut even further?

    Mr LeBaron added that freeing the bomber and making him live in Scotland “would mitigate a number of the strong concerns we have expressed with regard to Megrahi’s release”.
    The US administration lobbied the Scottish government more strongly against sending Megrahi home, under a prisoner transfer agreement signed by the British and Libyan governments, in a deal now known to have been linked to a pound stg. 550 million oil contract for BP.

    However, I’ve heard from a friend who has a friend awaiting USA citizens who are anxiously trying to get out of Libya… so that part is probably correct…

    Do any of you honestly think ANY middle east rulers “fear” or even “respect” the current appeaser in chief? Then why would they listen to the USA’s recommendations on anything anyway?

    And another thing: Obama wasn’t too worried about Americans getting out of Egypt when he was spouting off about Mubarak. So I am not sure I believe he is all that concerned about Americans in Libya either, and not convinced it was the reason for the several days of silence.
