Stunner. Barack Obama’s Organizing for America website is helping to organize the “day of rage” protests in Wisconsin.

What a complete shock.

Ben Smith at The Politico reported:

The Democratic National Committee’s Organizing for America arm – the remnant of the 2008 Obama campaign — is playing an active role in organizing protests against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s attempt to strip most public employees of collective bargaining rights.

OfA, as the campaign group is known, has been criticized at times for staying out of local issues like same-sex marraige, but it’s riding to the aide of the public sector unions who hoping to persuade some Republican legislators to oppose Walker’s plan. And while Obama may have his difference with teachers unions, OfA’s engagement with the fight — and Obama’s own clear stance against Walker — mean that he’s remaining loyal to key Democratic Party allies at what is, for them, a very dangerous moment.

The OFA Wisconsin twitter feed bragged about how they used students as props at their protests today.

Of the 21 customers so far today, 21 have said “Fire every last one of the teachers at the protest”. They seem to be especially angered by the signs some of the protesters are showing.     OK, guys, I just spoke with my Congressman’s office and learned that Obama claims that OFA is paid for by “campaign” funds. I asked if OFA involving itself in state affairs, such as in Wisconsin, is legal, and was told that it was questionable.

    So, here’s the deal: the Congressional switchboard is currently open. Call your Republican Congressman/woman and demand they initiate a Congression hearing into the legality of Obama (via his “campaign” website) involving himself in a state issue, such as in Wisconsin.

    Good for them! This is exactly the reason that I believe that ALL public employees should be forbidden to strike or participate in other work actions – no slow downs, sick outs and so forth. If they can’t live with that they they can each and every one go work in the private sector.

    Friday, Gov. Walker made the shocking announcement that he plans to use the government to strip away the rights workers in Wisconsin. And he’s willing to call out the National Guard to enforce his unprecedented power grab.

    We need to send a message to our representatives at the Capitol that Wisconsin is united against Gov. Walker’s assault on workers in our state. Gov. Walker refused to even meet with public employees, something which Republican and Democratic governors have done in good faith for the past half century. Public employees offered $100 million in concessions and Walker responded by refusing to even meet with them.

    Gov. Walker has shoved these abhorrent proposals – such as ending collective bargaining, raiding health programs, and selling state assets to benefit business – in a so-called budget repair bill, but make no mistake: this plan does not create jobs and it will increase our long-term debt.

    Why, when unemployment in Wisconsin is so high, would Gov. Walker propose a plan that would use government to take away the rights of people that still are working? Why, after he increased the deficit with a $140 million special interest giveaway, would Gov. Walker propose a budget repair bill that does nothing to repair the budget?

    With this bill, Gov. Walker puts himself in charge of independent agencies, he strips away collective bargaining rights so he can personally dictate winners and losers and give himself the power to unilaterally cut people from BadgerCare and SeniorCare without a vote of the full legislature.

    It’s unthinkable. But he’s trying to do it. And we have to stop him.

You EXIST because my father and others like him came to the UK to help your country and your navy when you were being bombed to oblivion, when we sent you food (and a lot of Americans died protecting it) because you were starving. And when that war was over your country STILL relied on the United States of America to bail you out financially and with yet more food. Rationing in the UK was worse after World War II than it was during the war. And your country remained in the toilet for decades. I’ve been alive nearly every one of those years to see this at first hand. In fact, it is only recently that you’ve even had enough jobs to approximate going around – or don’t you remember the years when half of all Britons were on the dole?

    Our labor laws are as “advanced” as yours are and I am quite positive that we are not the “only country on earth with no vacation days.” Since you freely admit that you are not either a US Citizen or a US Resident, why don’t you keep your “upper crust” nose over across the pond where it belongs and STFU.
