Shameful: Obama Parties It Up While Americans Stranded in Libya

Never let an international crisis or even a botched charter boat evacuation get in the way of a good party…

‘The ferry carrying American and international citizens from Libya to Malta is finally underway,’ U.S. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley tweeted.

According to the State Department there are 285 passengers on board the Dolores, including 167 U.S. citizens and 118 people of other nationalities.

President Obama has been under intense criticism for his muted response to the bloodshed in Libya, with speculation that Colonel Gaddafi had intimidated the White House into silence by blocking the evacuation of U.S. citizens.

And last night, while the Dolores remained stranded, the president enjoyed a White House pop concert in celebration of Black History month.

If you had an iota of critical thinking ability you would know that it’s okay to deride a president for inaction but NOT for having a social moment on any given day, unless there’s a REAL pressing issue at hand. One could ridicule a president, such as Bush, for every golf outing if one wanted to be so officious, because at any moment a president is doing something that is concurrent with a downturn or tragedy in his nation. You can ridicule a president who takes a whole month off (read: W) or sets a record for vacation days while in the White House (again, George Herb’s sprout), but not for doing something fun or social on his free time. I said the same thing to my liberal friends who cherry-picked complaints about every little thing W. did, because every little thing he did occurred as an opportunity cost of saving the nation, bringing in new jobs, etc. There are things you can critique Barack on, but his occasional socializing shouldn’t be one of them.
