Senior US Marine: Multiple Platoons Are Heading to Egypt

My how times have changed.

In 2007 Barack Obama said that “preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn’t a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces there.”

But that disgusting remark was in 2007.
Now Obama is sending several platoons to Egypt.
Egypt is an American ally… At least, it used to be before Obama.
Business Insider reported:

A senior member of the US Marine corps is telling people “multiple platoons” are deploying to Egypt, a source tells us.

There is a system within the US Marines that alerts the immediate families of high-ranking marines when their marine will soon be deployed to an emergency situation where they will not be able to talk to their spouses or families.

That alert just went out, says our source.

This senior Marine told our source that the Pentagon will deploy “multiple platoons” to Egypt over the next few days and that the official reason will be ‘to assist in the evacuation of US citizens.”

Our source was told that “the chances they were going over there went from 70% yesterday to 100% today.”

That ought to go over well with the Egptians.

Don’t the Marines guard the US Embassy? Somehow I think if a bunch of people decide to take over the embassy this time, it won’t quite go the same way as Iran.

I don’t agree with that @8 George. I think the word will be to immediately surrender passed from the Waffle House to the embassy. I mean we wouldn’t want any of those Egyptians getting hurt invading the US embassy would we?

Hmmm… perhaps this is part of some sort of new Obama “muslim outreach” program that includes ‘winning the hearts and minds of our muslim brothers’ through the toppling of non-islamic governments and implementing a caliphate complete with sharia law.

/I’m pretty sure the Marines are not going to be down with that mission, if you know what I mean…

I’m calling bullchip on this one. No way is Malibu sending in any troops. They may get slaughtered. Very realistic chance. The Egyptian army has pretty good personnel with more than enough men to entrust with protection. Seriously does anyone not think that Egyptians seeing a bunch of American troops could ignite a pretty volatile situation or is it a tiny force? Talk about giving the muslime brotherhood some ammo to work with.

Hey I think he’s as dumb as a rock and evil, but there is no way that even the Malibu fumbler, bumbler, stumbler is this dumb. No one is, right? Planted story?

multiple platoons? that just sounds odd. platoons are not untis unto themselves they are the smaller group within a company. a company may deploy but a platoon does not deploy alone. the wording doesnt sound right to me.

within a company you have platoons that carry out certain functions so the company can function as a whole.

Multiple platoons mean that they are being sent to evacuate US Embassy personnel and protect American assets there. Have “non-essential” personnel been evaculated yet? I know that the Snake Department has already told American citizens to leave, so this would be the next step. They are probably worried about a Saigonesque departure followed up by an Embassy take-over like what happened in Tehran in ’79.
