Nuts… CBS Blames Global Warming for Midwest Snowmagedon

It must be global warming.
I took this photo of the snow plows on Highway 40-61 in St. Louis during the monster storm yesterday.
The CBS Early Show blamed the record snow and cold on global warming climate change today.
These crazy leftists just won’t quit.
The Media Research Organization reported:
Speaking to physicist Michio Kaku on Wednesday’s CBS Early Show, co-host Chris Wragge fretted over the recent series of severe winter storms and wondered: “…nine storms in seven weeks, why is this happening?…a lot of people want to talk about global warming and thinking that that may actually come into play here. Is that accurate? Is that having an effect on what’s going on?”
Dr. Kaku agreed with the suggestion: “Yes. It seems to violate common sense, but as the Earth begins to heat up, that means more moist air in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico on average. Which creates more precipitation, and eventually more snow.” Wragge followed up: “Is this going to continue?” Kaku argued: “…on average, temperatures are going to rise. Remember, last year was the hottest year ever recorded in the history of science, next to 2005, since 1880. So the Earth is heating up. We can debate exactly what’s driving it. But, hey, get used to it. We’re going to have more energy sloshing around the Earth, more extremes, and swings.”
Just how long are we going to hear this nonsense?

I love their idea that global warming will cause the northern hemisphere to freeze because the higher temperatures will cause the Greenland Ice Sheet to melt suddenly. That water will disrupt the Gulf Stream. Thereby causing Europe to freeze…… While its warm enough to melt Greenland……
They love to put out all these logic steps and keep forgetting about how warm its SUPPOSED to be and therefore, there should not be ANY snow….as they predicted in earlier years.

Whatever the weather happens to be, the idiots on the Left will change the narrative to fit the facts. A couple of years ago these same jerks claimed that snow would be a thing of the past. They are wrong, and the reality is just more of the same, they will use whatever event that occurs in an effort to gain more power on behalf of the government. It’s all about control, and I don’t mean of the weather or climate.

Dr. Kaku’s thought experiment sounds nice, but no proof. Actually, raw unadjusted temperature data shows we have been cooling for more than a decade. Data from NASA from 1999 shows the down trend, but after their recent adjustments, wala! It is magically an uptrend ! Global temp data isn’t reliable and adjusted to whatever the adjuster wishes, little own assigning a cause to whatever the trend is, up or down.

Okay, I’ll accept that more moisture dragged off a warm body of water will produce more precipatation in the form of rain or snow. That still doesn’t explain prolonged freezing temperatures in Texas and Florida. In fact, it actually points to global cooling. Oh darn, I fell into the broader “climate change” trap!

Since 1880 ??? “Science” is only 131 years old? C’mon. Kaku’s statement about temperatures may be exactly correct but is so highly misleading as to be baloney on stilts as regards climate change.
There have been even warmer periods on earth e.g, as recently as the Medieval warming period, and many before that in geologic time. Yes, the earth is warming – again. So what? Yes, the climate is changing. So what? Climate is ALWAYS changing. Always has been. Always will be.
I think national policy should be guided by the answers to three questions: (1) do humans have any significant effect on climate? (2) can humans reverse climate changes by any significant degree? and (3) is the degree of change humans could effect worth the projected expenditures? All the evidence so far suggests the answers are “no” and “no” and, therefore, “no”.
My suggestions–spend our money (if we have any left) on something useful. And stop wringing our hands about it unless the answers to the questions above change.

Nearly 90% of the weather data collection stations do not meet the standard for placement (sunlight, alternate heat sources, etc.,). Since they set a standard, they must feel like they know what it takes to collect reliable data, but obviously choose not to. Must not be important to their plan, I guess. Fix that, then talk to me. There’s something missing from their hypothesis: If the earth was heating, therefore causing more precipitation, wouldn’t the precipitation cool off the earth? I know, I know…I’m thinking more cyclical that the scientists!
You cannot simply just say that THIS happens and have no result …If THIS happens, then THAT is the result. If it’s warmer causing more water in the atmosphere, then the water absorbs heat from it’s environment causing a cooling effect. It didn’t rain…it snowed. Therefore the air is cooler, which cools down the oceans when the winds go over it..hence they cool down.
The cyclical nature of weather is being ignored.

Ok, at least we’re getting somewhere. Now we know that climate means the weather in a 131 year period. So let’s go back in the climate records and see what the temps were at 131 year intervals. The extremes in each 131 year interval detemine the climate, ok? Is that how it works now?

Michio Kaku is a physicist, and apparently a very talented and well-respected physicist at that, having contributed substantially to the formulation of “string theory”, which is thought to be well along the way to a unified “theory of everything” — i.e., an explanation for the natural processes that cause our universe to happen. (I’m not a physicist, or a formally-trained scientist, although I am a mighty skeptic.) Kaku’s as close as science can get to explaining God, and that means he’s no fraud. He also has a wonderful enthusiasm for science, and a talent for explaining things in terms that a layman — or an undergraduate, as he’s a teacher at CUNY — can understand.
That combination of real science chops, enthusiasm, and teaching ability makes Kaku a natural for popular science-education television. I happen to be a fan of such programs on Discovery Channel, History Channel, and National Geographic, and I’ve noticed that Kaku is one of a core group of maybe 12 popular scientists who show up on nearly every program — certainly everything to do with astronomy and planetary science. (Michio Kaku, Phil Plait, Michelle Thaller, etc.) I think this is why they’re asking Kaku to comment on global warming — oops, “climate change” — over at the CBS Early Show. He’s findable by television producers, not camera-shy, and won’t confuse everyone with jargon.
That doesn’t mean the guy needs to accept every such invitation. As noted above, although a hell of a planetary physicist, Michio Kaku is not a climatologist. He could do us as all a favor and take the opportunity to shut up — and introduce the public to a real climatologist who also can explain things succinctly.
That would spare everyone the spectacle of the mouth-breathers among the readers of Gateway Pundit calling him “Dr. Kaka” (I see what you did there), thus undermining the very valid criticism that Kaku is talking out his ass on the global warming issue.
