Cheeky link bait aimed at conservative blogs or earnest ad campaign targeting progressives? It’s the former for the moment, but let’s face it — if the fleebaggers succeed in waiting Scott Walker out and getting the collective bargaining bill killed, they’ll be instantly beatified on the left. Tales of their exploits shall be passed down in hushed tones from one generation of six-figure-income unionized public workers to the next. Why, without the “Wisconsin 14,” kids will be told, mom and dad would have had to struggle the way the chumps in private employee unions do. There’s tourism gold waiting to be mined in that kind of hagiography. Imagine visiting Rockford and sitting at the very same table where that moron accused Republicans of disrupting the democratic process by not letting him vote by phone — after he’d fled Wisconsin.

A pilgrimage to Rockford to see where Cheap Trick was born was already on my bucket list, so yeah, I’ll find some time for a “here’s where the battle to rein in spending died” tour while I’m there. It’s history!

    The moron might be on to something. The republicans might legally adjourn and close the capital building the connect every one via video conference. Just as there is no law compelling attendence there may be no law defining presence for a qurom. By giving them access by providing them with the information to join the internet video conference and announcing it to the media there may be no where in the world to run away to. Virtual presence maybe recognized at law. Millions of legal transactions happen everyday on the internet. The protesters would be left with only the media as spectators.

    Rockford? I used to spend time in Rockford, years and years ago. They used to have a hell of a good air show…. It moved to Wisconsin.
    Well you could always tour the Chrysler plant. Oh, thats right, the UAW killed that deal. I think it shut down.

    We use to have a saying here, Escape to Wisconsin, but the Dems for years have raised taxes and kicked businesses out left and right. So the saying morphed into Escape from Wisconsin. The Dems took it to heart.

    My kid goes to college in Rockford, its not a bad town to visit the Ice Hog games are a great time ,they’ve got the Burpee Museum which is a must see if you’re into prehistoric bones and fossils.
    Good food throughout town,if you like italian food skip Olive Garden and go to Lino’s or Giardonno’s for great food and pizza.
    Was visiting not to long ago my kid and i went to a hamburger joint called Beef A Roo,And actually seen Rick Nielsen in there getting lunch.
    The Clock Tower resort where these nitwit dems took refuge is a very nice hotel with a water park ,the best hotel in Rockford, they really did get the best out of the taxpayers dollar……..

    They should have worked in that Al Capone use to hideaway in Rockford too! Chrysler plant is still still up and running. We still have a great air show every year. Now, if we could get the politicians in line, it would be a great city once again… I won’t hold my breath.
