    I have often thought the reason unions sought law enforcement was for no other reason to create distrust between the people and law enforcement. In the 60′s and 70′s Socialist tried very hard to drive a wedge between the people and the military, a tactic that failed miserably. Next best thing have the police beholding to those who make the laws, not those they are sworn to protect. Then again WTF has expressed a desire to have a national police force as well armed and trained as the military. That one little item on his wish list should have been a big tip off to his agenda.

    It’s really sad our country has come to this, and the useful idiots can’t ‘wake up’ from their trance. Even when I was a teenager smoking grass and drinking I knew I was screw up and had flawed thinking.     As the military families of that generation can tell you, it succeeded admirably at the time – and an entire generation of young men who chose to serve rather than run to Canada or buy themselves out with Daddy’s money has been literally discarded as a result. It is our biggest national shame in recent memory. (You might have noticed that neight WWII nor the Korean War resulted in near the number of discards that Vietnam did.)

    If our military is treated with more respect today, it is because of members of my generation who vowed that our children would NOT be treated the way The Vietnam Vets were.

    Please don’t lump ALL of us in together. I have no collective bargaining agreement, but I have a decent paycheck, I have decent insurance, and I have decent retirement. Could they be better? Sure, but I am not about to screw my city, state and country! I’m blessed to have a job and I realize that. I would NEVER strike or threaten to strike, if I wanted to get rich then I got into the wrong line of work.

    I realize many law enforcement are in unions, but not all of us are. Some of us remember why we got into this job in the first place.
