“Well, speaking of last night, that was a tough speech to sit through and try to stomach because the president is so off base in his ideas in how it is he believes government is going to create jobs. Obviously, government growth won’t create any jobs. It’s the private sector that can create the jobs. His theme last night in the State of the Union was the WTF, you know, “Winning the Future,” and I thought OK, that acronym, spot on. There were a lot of WTF moments throughout that speech.”

While I don’t wish to speak too harshly about President Obama’s state of the union address, we live in challenging times that call for candor. I call them as I see them, and I hope my frank assessment will be taken as an honest effort to move this conversation forward.
Last night, the president spoke of the “credibility gap” between the public’s expectations of their leaders and what those leaders actually deliver. “Credibility gap” is a good way to describe the chasm between rhetoric and reality in the president’s address. The contradictions seemed endless.
He called for Democrats and Republicans to “work through our differences,” but last year he dismissed any notion of bipartisanship when he smugly told Republicans, “I won.”
He talked like a Washington “outsider,” but he runs Washington! He’s had everything any president could ask for – an overwhelming majority in Congress and a fawning press corps that feels tingles every time he speaks. There was nothing preventing him from pursuing “common sense” solutions all along. He didn’t pursue them because they weren’t his priorities, and he spent his speech blaming Republicans for the problems caused by his own policies.
He dared us to “let him know” if we have a better health care plan, but he refused to allow Republicans in on the negotiations or consider any ideas for real free market and patient-centered reforms. We’ve been “letting him know” our ideas for months from the town halls to the tea parties, but he isn’t interested in listening. Instead he keeps making the nonsensical claim that his massive trillion-dollar health care bill won’t increase the deficit.
Americans are suffering from job losses and lower wages, yet the president practically demanded applause when he mentioned tax cuts, as if allowing people to keep more of their own hard-earned money is an act of noblesse oblige. He claims that he cut taxes, but I must have missed that. I see his policies as paving the way for massive tax increases and inflation, which is the “hidden tax” that most hurts the poor and the elderly living on fixed incomes.
He condemned lobbyists, but his White House is filled with former lobbyists, and this has been a banner year for K Street with his stimulus bill, aka the Lobbyist’s Full Employment Act. He talked about a “deficit of trust” and the need to “do our work in the open,” but he chased away the C-SPAN cameras and cut deals with insurance industry lobbyists behind closed doors.
He spoke of doing what’s best for the next generation and not leaving our children with a “mountain of debt,” but under his watch this year, government spending is up by 22%, and his budget will triple our national debt.
He spoke of a spending freeze, but doesn’t he realize that each new program he’s proposing comes with a new price tag? A spending freeze is a nice idea, but it doesn’t address the root cause of the problem. We need a comprehensive examination of the role of government spending. The president’s deficit commission is little more than a bipartisan tax hike committee, lending political cover to raise taxes without seriously addressing the problem of spending.
He condemned bailouts, but he voted for them and then expanded and extended them. He praised the House’s financial reform bill, but where was Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in that bill? He still hasn’t told us when we’ll be getting out of the auto and the mortgage industries. He praised small businesses, but he’s spent the past year as a friend to big corporations and their lobbyists, who always find a way to make government regulations work in their favor at the expense of their mom & pop competitors.
He praised the effectiveness of his stimulus bill, but then he called for another one – this time cleverly renamed a “jobs bill.” The first stimulus was sold to us as a jobs bill that would keep unemployment under 8%. We now have double digit unemployment with no end in sight. Why should we trust this new “jobs bill”?
He talked about “making tough decisions about opening new offshore areas for oil and gas development,” but apparently it’s still too tough for his Interior Secretary to move ahead with Virginia’s offshore oil and gas leases. If they’re dragging their feet on leases, how long will it take them to build “safe, clean nuclear power plants”? Meanwhile, he continued to emphasize “green jobs,” which require massive government subsidies for inefficient technologies that can’t survive on their own in the real world of the free market.
He spoke of supporting young girls in Afghanistan who want to go to school and young women in Iran who courageously protest in the streets, but where were his words of encouragement to the young girls of Afghanistan in his West Point speech? And where was his support for the young women of Iran when they were being gunned down in the streets of Tehran?
Despite speaking for over an hour, the president only spent 10% of his speech on foreign policy, and he left us with many unanswered questions. Does he still think trying the 9/11 terrorists in New York is a good idea? Does he still think closing Gitmo is a good idea? Does he still believe in Mirandizing terrorists after the Christmas bomber fiasco? Does he believe we’re in a war against terrorists, or does he think this is just a global crime spree? Does he understand that the first priority of our government is to keep our country safe?
In his address last night, the president once again revealed that there’s a fundamental disconnect between what the American people expect from their government, and what he wants to deliver. He’s still proposing failed top-down big government solutions to our problems. Instead of smaller, smarter government, he’s taken a government that was already too big and supersized it.
Real private sector jobs are created when taxes are low, investment is high, and people are free to go about their business without the heavy hand of government. The president thinks innovation comes from government subsidies. Common sense conservatives know innovation comes from unleashing the creative energy of American entrepreneurs.
Everything seems to be “unexpected” to this administration: unexpected job losses; unexpected housing numbers; unexpected political losses in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey. True leaders lead best when confronted with the unexpected. But instead of leading us, the president lectured us. He lectured Wall Street; he lectured Main Street; he lectured Congress; he even lectured our Supreme Court Justices.
He criticized politicians who “wage a perpetual campaign,” but he gave a campaign speech instead of a state of the union address. The campaign is over, and President Obama now has something that candidate Obama never had: an actual track record in office. We now can see the failed policies behind the flowery words. If Americans feel as cynical as the president suggests, perhaps it’s because the audacity of his recycled rhetoric no longer inspires hope.
Real leadership requires results. Real hope lies in the ingenuity, generosity, and boundless courage of the American people whose voices are still not being heard in Washington.

That conventional wisdom needs to be subjected to a national CTL-ALT-DEL … and Ms. Palin might just be the best person to make that happen.

Many people watching tonight remember a time when finding a good job meant showing up at Bill Ayers’ house for a fundraiser — or teaching ACORN hacks how to intimidate businesses. But the world has changed: more people frown on domestic terrorism and rampant vote fraud than in the old days.
And the world operates faster now: China and India are moving towards capitalism, which gives us the opportunity to redistribute our wealth to them. See, we tilt towards a command-and-control economy, impoverish ourselves, which means we use less of the world’s resources. Which is more fair.

That’s why we have to build stuff, you know — towns and roads and stuff. Oh and railroads. Lots of railroads, ‘cuz we’ve got to use less resources which means traveling together like the folks in China and India do. We’ll call it ‘high-speed rail’ ‘cuz it sounds cooler.
To streamline business, I’ve ordered a cursory review of government regulations, while — behind the scenes — I’ve got the EPA pumping out enough new regs to blow your frickin’ mind, man! ‘Cuz I’m a centrist!
Now, hahahahahahahahahahahahaha, I’ve heard tell that some are a mite concerned about Obamacare. If you have any issues or ideas for improving it, we’ll air ‘em on C-Span so the whole American public can see ‘em. For five whole days before we vote. It’ll be awesome.
And we have to freeze spending, right where it is. Even though that means we’re spending roughly 48% more each year than we take in. ‘Cuz I’m a centrist.
It means we’ll have to reduce health care costs like Medicare and Medicaid and that new, unsustainable health care takeover we just passed. To do so we’ll have to centralize all decision-making in a streamlined, efficient government bureaucracy consisting of 135 agencies, offices and bureaus. Lean and mean, baby, lean and mean.
And we’ve got to talk about Social Security. Not do anything, hell no! Look what happened to Bush after he tried to work on it! Now, if we could just get our hands on all of those IRAs and 401(k) plans… we could guarantee every American a retirement income for life. We’d put it away, stash it in a foolproof lock-box. A vault. Locked away, safe and sound. Oh — and we’ll tax the hell out of the rich, ‘cuz I’m a centrist.
In the coming months, we’ll develop a proposal to merge, consolidate, and reorganize the federal government in such a way that we’ll preserve all of those bureaucrats who vote Democrat every election, but will look like we’re more efficient because we’ll be regulating even more than we do today.
And thanks to our tough foreign policies, Iran’s poised to get nukes, North Korea’s nutcase dictator is sinking South Korean ships, Hezbollah’s taking over Lebanon, China’s launched its new stealth fighter with stolen technology, Russia’s got a new czar, and pretty much everyone is laughing at us. Except the Zionists. They’re not laughing, believe you me.
Constitution. Founding Fathers. Blah blah blah. Centrist. Look at my watch. You’re mesmerized. You’re falling into a deep, deep sleep. Repeat after me: I’m a centrist. Cen… trist.
What’s that old Reagan line? Oh, yeah: “Thank you, God Bless You, and may God Bless the United States of America.” The centrist, civil United States of America.

The Demonrats pressured banks to give loans to people who couldn’t afford them and also having the government to guarantee them with AAA ratings to internation bankers/investors (you know, the ones who received a good portion of the Stymulus bailouts). And it continued under Bush’s term where the Demonrat controlled Congress abetted the fraud against Bush’s attempts to try to control it (yeah, right).
But does it really matter who’s president? Bush brought in the Patriot Act which took away more freedoms from americans and NObama has been using the same Bush people, like from Goldman Sachs, to print trillions of $ making it more and more worthless. You need to open your eyes to see the forest from the trees. Now that “the powers behind the puppets” have buried America in a mountain of debt, you can rest assure that somewhere, somehow, the IMF (International Monetary Fund) will come to our rescue. Of course, America can no longer follow the Constitution of the U.S. of America…oh wait, that’s right, the Constitution has been abanded ever since we went off the gold/silver standard many, many, years ago. (Who would’ve thought America would be trillions of dollars in debt if we went away from a gold standard?!)

I recently read a website which analysed BHO’s campaign speeches. The author claimed that their apparent message was nonsense. However, they were superb speeches, if considered as “conversational covert hypnosis”.
Effectively, Obama hypnotised a sizable proportion of the US electorate, by by-passing their critical faculties.
He did this by establishing trust, using techniques used by hypnotists, by telling known truths, then linking these truths to falsehoods. The speeches evoked emotionally charged imagery in his audience. Manipulated emotions were hightened and then linked to covert (subliminal) orders to vote for him.
Many of these people, who were manipulated emotionally, were and are not going to desert him readily. Not for any logical reasons, anyway.
No-one has shown any evidence that the strong emotions which Sarah Palin evokes in her supporters are a result of similar deliberate manipulative techniques on her part.
I think that her connection to people is natural and not contrived, like Obama’s.
I also think that the campaign to misrepresent her, by those who support Obam’s agenda, is a direct consequence of this.
I think that the people in the mainstream media, who support Obama, conciously and deliberately sought to incite irrational hatred towards her and to discourage rational evaluation of her actual political achievements.
This is probably because they recognise her as a woman who can effectively communicate to people about issues which highlight the unamerican and evil nature of the policies which they promote. She does this without using tricks to bypass concious evaluation of her arguments.
I think that Obama is a man who is skillfull at manipulating people and also utterly without concience. It is prudent, surely, to study his techniques and ascertain whether there is a genuine irrational Obama worship by those susceptible. Once rendered available for concious evaluation, these techniques are much less effective.
I think that Sarah Palin, and most Americans may be evaluating Obama’s SOTU speech from the perspective of an analysis of the wisdom or folly of the policies described, or avoided. However, I think that from the perspective of analysis as yet another campaign speech, intended solely to manipulate emotions and deliver a second term as president, then it may be better analysed for its emotional narrative.
You can’t use logic to argue someone from a position which they did not use logic to arrive at.
I believe that Sarah Palin is sincere in her convictions and, contrary to the media reports, that she is good at debating policy. Obama, who is an inspiring orator, when delivering a prepared speech or responding to a question which he has anticipated and for which he has a prepared response ready, seems completely different when he has to debate.
Emotional manipulation and NLP techniques are more difficult to improvise in a debate.
I think that in a presidential debate, Sarah Palin would still retain her connection with voters and the emperor would show that he has no clothes.
