Top Democrat Clyburn: Sarah Palin Too Stupid to Understand Bogus Charges Against Her

Far left Assistant Democratic Leader James Clyburn (D-S.C.) says Sarah Palin is unable to understand the bogus media charges against her this week.

The Hill reported:

A House Democratic leader on Wednesday lashed out at Sarah Palin, accusing the former Alaska governor of being intellectually unable of understanding why she’s faced criticism related to the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

Assistant Democratic Leader James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said that Palin had missed the point by releasing a statement this morning blasting the media for “blood libel” for looking to assign blame in part to her rhetoric after the attempted assassination of Giffords last weekend.

“You know, Sarah Palin just can’t seem to get it, on any front. I think she’s an attractive person, she is articulate,” Clyburn said on the Bill Press radio show. “But I think intellectually, she seems not to be able to understand what’s going on here.”

Palin broke her relative silence since the attack on Giffords, which some Democrats have said created an environment that allowed such an attack on a member of Congress. Democrats have honed in on the map Palin’s PAC had released, depicting targeted lawmakers in the election with crosshairs over their district.

“Acts of monstrous criminality stand on their own,” Palin wrote. “They begin and end with the criminals who commit them, not collectively with all the citizens of a state, not with those who listen to talk radio, not with maps of swing districts used by both sides of the aisle, not with law-abiding citizens who respectfully exercise their First Amendment rights at campaign rallies, not with those who proudly voted in the last election.”

Clyburn said that Palin didn’t grasp why such rhetoric was so troubling, regardless of the motivations of the alleged shooter of Giffords.

No one wants to be without the means to defend themselves in the event the government decides American citizens are incapable of responsibly owning guns.
Some dude named Madcow on MSNBC last night was screeching about cop killer bullets, high capacity magazines and plastic guns. I guess he’s unaware of the black market created by prohibition laws. If there’s demand someone somewhere will find the means to supply that demand, regardless of the law. And they’ll become wealthy doing it.
I’d say that we’ll eventually learn the lessons of the past, but I’ve yet to see any evidence to support that notion.

I’m not saying Ms. Palin is totally stupid. She is an educated woman but she should take care of business within her own family. Ms. Palin is not politician material and should not make public statements. I am sure she didn’t really mean someone should injure other people but her choice of words can be taken the wrong way by unstable people. If the Republicans do nominate Ms. Palin for a government position, it will just ensure a Democratic win. I plan to vote as I always have. . . by chosing the better candidate no matter which party they represent.
