What a shock!
Big Lib Claire McCaskill suddenly disapproves of the individual mandate in Obamacare.

That isn’t what she said when 71% if Missouri voters rejected Obamacare.
The day after that vote she lectured Missourians about the benefits of the mandate.

But for some reason, Claire is now distancing herself from her vote.
That’s weird?
Politico reported:

Speaking on MSNBC Wednesday morning, Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill suggested that Democrats should ditch the individual mandate required in President Obama’s health reform law.

It’s a proposed amendment to legislation she supported that’s deeply unpopular in Missouri just as she ramps up for a challenging reelection bid.

“There’s other ways we can get people into the pool — I hope — other than a mandate, and we need to look at that,” McCaskill said Wednesday morning on MSNBC.

In August, 71 percent of Missouri voters approved a referendum opposing the federal health care measure.

McCaskill clearly can’t walk away from her vote, but she’ll likely spend a good part of the next two years explaining ways it can be improved or altered.

  1. Aw, Claire. Are you f***ing with us?

  2. Hairbag McCaskill is ON HER KNEES!

She knows that she’s in a world of hurt come 2012.

She’s praying that her constituents have short memories.

  3. Missouri don’t forget she is Obama’s senator first and your senator second.

  4. Me thinks she is just now realizing her huge brain fart….

  5. It’s the ‘Show Me’ State, right?

In 2012 just show ‘em her voting record, nuff said.

(maybe throw in a few of her nutty quotes for good measure)

  6. She’s al-Bama’s “Wonder Woman”. This picture sums her up to a T:

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0608/11142.html

  7. My, my, my Claire. Aren’t you sorry now you didn’t bother to read the bill and refused to listen to your constituents? Let me give you a cluebat: YOU work for US. We hire you. We fire you. Most of the time we “trust” you to take care of our business, but when 71% of us tell you what we want, then had darned well deliver unless you would prefer to find a new job.

As I’ve been saying for a long time now:

Health insurance is NOT health care

  8. Hey, at least it’s a back step in the right direction..??…

  9. Claire knows she is toast in the next election. Took her a while to figure that out didn’t it. 71% of us voted in Prop C to destroy Obamacare. Claire is a slow learner.

  10. Jim ….. needs to challenge McCaskill for her seat in 2012. I think Jim would make a wonderful SENATOR.

  11. I am soooooo looking forward to 2012! It will be interesting to see how she votes on the repeal of Obamacare…

  12. Obamacare will not work unless there is the compulsion factor. This socialistic model can only get off the ground if everyone is forced to participate, most especially the young who statistically are the healthiest. Their forced premiums are used to pay for those who are the sickest who generally are seniors.

  13. She is not distancing herself. In fact she is mighty proud of her contributions to Obama’s marxist revolution.
She has in place the Medi-rationing that she wanted so bad and she knows it will survive the courts and appeals.
The HC law is done, now she can move on .
Thats all she is doing . MOVING ON towards her next goal. For which she needs to fight an election.

  14. Jim ….. needs to challenge McCaskill for her seat in 2012. I think Jim would make a wonderful SENATOR.
    +++++++++

    Hear hear !!!

  15. She is such a……what is that word again? Hmmmm…..I think it rhymes with “bunt”…..but I cannot remember the exact word….

  16. Jim, please, I’m beggin’ ya. Tweet Claire Bear with “too little, too late; buh-bye.”

  17. Someone needs to come up with a candidate other than Jim Talent or Sarah Steelman to run against her, or…she will be re-elected. Steelman is a RINO, period. Talent was a politician first, just like Claire. Can we just find someone who is interested in the country first without their own self serving interests being first. I know both Talent and Steelman, so I do know how they are without telling too much about myself of course.

  18. Reminds me of when someone with white powder on their nostrils and upper lip swears they gave up cocaine months ago.

  19. “There’s other ways we can get people into the pool — I hope — other than a mandate, and we need to look at that”

Well it works in the movies, right Claire. What an incredibly stupid and totally predictable statement.

  20. “There’s other ways we can get people into the pool — I hope — other than a mandate, and we need to look at that,” McCaskill said
    ++++++++

So WHY didn’t you do that
    BEFORE
    passing Obama-scare ?

  21. Why can’t they just admit that they want to move use toward an european social democracy? List the benefits vs what we have now. I’d respect their opinion if they just came out and said it.

  22. use=us

  23. Claire I stood outside your office with a protest sign on multiple occasions. You didn’t listen and you were the 60th vote on this legislative albatross. Later you would tell your chief of staff to call us Nazis. Now you want to distance yourself? TOO LATE, YOU LOOSE 2012. You should have voted NO when you had the chance, but you were too busy kissing party a$$ trying to move up in the Washington polical world.

I don’t care if you break with your party on every vote from this moment forward, you are gone in 2012.

  24. The people of Missouri do not deserve to have a dipsh!t like her in the senate. It’s a darn shame. What were they thinking?

  25. Be careful here folks – she has her “Mothers Voice” and she can use it.

    http://bungalowbillscw.blogspot.com/2009/08/claire-mccaskill-threatens-town-hall.html

    …Lee

  26. Perhaps its the number of states suing the Feds about the individual mandate issue that has her spooked. Wonder if she’s up for re-election in the next two years–and if Obama is an albatross around her neck. The Dems motto is I’ll stand with you as long as you’re strong enough to carry me.

  27. We’ve got a lot of work to do to vote out Statist RINOs and Dems. We need the enthusiasm to be as intense in 2012 as it was in 2010.

The person who said Claire is Obama’s senator first, and Missouri’s second, is right on the money. She’s got to go. Butter her up. She’s toast!!

  28. Claire didn’t listen and now thinks we are stupid with short memories. Voter payback will be hell, Claire. Can’t wait.

  29. I live in MO and Claire is my rep. I have observed her actions and her words for at least a couple years now. I have stated this before and I will state it again…Claire McCaskill will say whatever she has to say to placate her audience and maintain her political power; however, she will undoubtedly act and vote along the liberal progressive party line. Do not believe a word that woman says. Claire McCaskill is a very deceptive political animal.

  30. Does not matter I am going to do everything I can to see that woman not re-elected in 2012.
She was a complete cow to everyone at her first town hall meetings to push obamacare .. Then she became a big P@#$y and hide behind Unions who had people beaten up for her.

She is done.. I can’t wait to make her unemployed.

  31. Remember when she told us it was her teenager her mocked her into supporting Obummer over Hillbilly?
Doesn’t she know that if any of the bill is dropped, the whole bill is null and void?

  32. If you look up “Democrat” in the dictionary, one of the definitions is “hypocrite”.

  33. “In August, 71 percent of Missouri voters approved a referendum opposing the federal health care measure.”

Let’s hope these 71% vote against this FOOL in 2012.

  34. This was brought up on Cavuto. The host was quick to mention she’s up for re-election. She must think we’ll forget Dec 24, 2009, when she voted for Obamacare.

  35. She may flip, she may flop, but come 2012 she will be out!!! She isn’t fooling her constituents.

  36. they all had a choice, vote for what the majority of the people wanted or vote for what the party wanted. they chose the party and you don’t get a do over.

  37. Smoke and Mirror’s…

  38. Start scouting the MO Tea Party meetings and field a candidate. iCaucus.com is another Constitutional group that puts candidates through extensive interviews before giving them their blessing. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is an iCaucus candidate.

It’s already getting late in the season for a political run against her in ’12. You all will need a good grassroots effort, but you can definitely get your candidate elected.

Eric Cantor had an excellent libertarian candidate run against him this past November, but the challenger had no $$ and almost zero name recognition. About two weeks before the election, our local talk-radio station had an interview with him and every caller afterward was excited as all get-out and wondered why they didn’t know about him!

Eric Cantor knows about him. He knows the people of his district are gunning for him. He started his fundraising effort the day after the election to ensure his sweet gig in DC. You’ve GOT to start early.

  39. I can now remove my nickname from Senator John “I was for it before I was against it!” Kerry and apply it to Claire McCaskill because she has earned it: Senator Sandal (fip flop).

  40. I think she looks better with her “makeup” on…

  41. Pure Claire Bear: centrist talk/lefty walk. Didn’t want to listen to us during the “debate”, I will not be listening to her. Ever.

  42. Well, 4 months is like 100 days ago, so who can understand it?

    ………………………

Which Eric Cantor are you talking about?

  44. We must punish the political elites that don’t support the repeal of Obamacare … maybe we could torture them by reading our ONE AND ONLY Constitution to them every day until they know it. Too many of them think they can do anything they want…maybe we can take some more of them out in 2012 if we can keep SEIU and Acorn from being the official vote counters!

  45. Way to little, way to late, you lying hag.

  46. Don’t worry, Clair, we won’t ask you to train your replacement-

  47. McCaskill explained that she voted for healthcare (against the wishes of her constituents) because it will “stabilize costs for families, allow hundreds of thousands of Missourians to access health insurance, stop private insurance abuses, and significantly reduce the deficit over the long term.” (I saved her letter so I can throw it back in her face.)

Since Obamacare passed, healthcare costs are increasing, insurance abuses continue, Obamacare will increase the deficit over the long term (deficit reduction was a flat-out lie based on accounting trickeration). And we recently learned that access to Obamacare for high-risk patients is too costly and only a fraction of eligible candidates have signed on.
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/12/27/AR2010122702343.html?sid=ST2010122702477

I’d like McCaskill to explain if her vote was ignorant or devious.

THE Eric Cantor. He’s pretty shady and weaselly to boot. If you check his record for TARP and other stupid things, he’s got nothing to brag about — in fact, Paul Ryan votes pretty much the same, and they’re supposed to be “young guns.” Ha!

Eric latched on to the public service teat after only a few years out of law school. Our local talk radio host sometimes subs for Beck, and he’s got loads of info on Eric and the nifty deals he has steered to the family business (mortgages) since going to DC.

“Cantor is personally invested heavily into the mortgage industry. According to reporter Neil Simon, Cantor’s “personal ties to the mortgage industry helped play a leading role” in his decision to vote for the bank bailouts of 2008. For instance, before going to Congress, Cantor handled real estate law at his family’s law firm, and continues to own between a $250,000 to $500,000 stake in TrustMor Mortgage, a mortgage brokerage he opened in 1996. According to Cantor’s latest personal finance disclosure, Cantor still earns $5,000 to $15,000 in income from his TrustMor business stake. ”

Stand-up guy that he is, Eric refused to debate the challengers in his district.

  49. Oh, almost forgot. In the lower half of the Commonwealth, about five Tea Party candidates ended up splitting the vote, allowing Robert Hurt to get the nomination and ultimately win the election for VA-5. Pre-election, at a chamber of commerce mtg, someone asked Hurt – Rino, why he decided to run for Tom Periello’s seat. Hurt gave the old song and dance about looking deep into himself and conferring with his wife and family but also conferred with his best friend, who happens to work in Washington, D.C. — Eric Cantor.

Eric oversees some big bucks in RNC re-election $$. He’s already shoring up his war chest for ’12; I’m sure Robt Hurt won’t have any worries on that score either.

  50. McCaskill blow-up doll…blond, red-lipped and BIG….kinda like Hillary’s…Dems should be proud of their yapping women. Nan, Babs McKulski, Jan “Lenin” Shakowsky,Rosa DeLauro, and the pin-up calendar goes on….a sexy gift to our finest fighting men at the front. Lynn Woolsey gives the troops a big peekaboo on the December page.

  51. Lying sack-of-crap. This is the kind of stuff that make politicians respected less than pimps. She is amazing that she could come out with this, a total contradiction of EVERYTHING she said in defense of Obamacare.

I live in Missouri, and I hope my fellow Missourians do have a good memory and good judgment to throw this whore out of office.

Just like listening to Pelosi’s insane blather when she talked of her “accomplishments” when she gave up the speakership, and her lie about how the Dhimmocrats were always keeping deficit reduction in mind (maybe they were, to see how much they could RAISES the deficit)….my mouth just drops open to hear such BLATANT prevarication from Claire. It’s really stunning, to have the nerve to lie so openly and with no apparent hint of shame.

    Unreal.

I can’t really say how contemptible she is. I am really amazed.

So, just wondering why you promote a Libertarian rather than a Republican. That weakens the GOP majority and Libertarians these days have a very bad unLibertarian habit of voting with socialist Democrats, and abortion promoters.
As an aside, haven’t seen the logic of why a Libertarian with so much rhetoric for the individual to be left alone by the government would be okay with abortion, the ultimate government-subsidized denial of the individual, but they are. Like Democrats.

  53. republicans are hoping to save 100 billion this year by cuts alone. are you kidding me? that isn’t even a scratch on a bloated 14 trillion deficit. we could save a trillion dollars if we cut obamacare this year, doubtful, and introduce actual health care reduction initiatives such as tort reform. (funny how tort reform is championed by democrats when the issue concerns car insurance. a lot of hand wringing ensues ,however, when you try to talk to them about applying tort reform to medical insurance.)

Missouri is known to grow democrats alongside their corn, but in 2012; we need to send this democrat porker home.

  54. Granny – I need to correct you. A friend saw Claire on a plane and she was holding up the H/C bill and telling everyone that she was reading it – my point is, she cannot use as an excuse for voting for this garbage that she did not read the bill, because she did read the bill, so shame on her for voting for it.

  55. Bitterclinger – I take offense to your attacks on Eric Cantor. Yes, he does have personal ties to banking and a mortgage business. SO what? You want some rube who just fell off a turnip truck to be in Congress? People like you had better stop eating our young or we will only end up with more Christine O’Donnells and Sharon Angles? Is that what you want? Great, then we will continue to lose those seats. Eric is an intelligent man with solid conservative values. He is also Jewish and has achieved the highest office ever for a Jew in America. THe GOP has really made inroads in diversity this year and I am really proud of that. Perhaps some Jews who do not suffer from the white guilt complex will see that they can vote GOP if they have half a brain in their head.

  56. you are on target GOP KICKS ASS. from jindal to rubio, we need to do a little tooting of our own horn and get on tv and put these faces in front of the media. republican is the big tent brand that doesn’t use color or sex to elect more rich, old white men into national offices. let’s celebrate republican diversity.

  57. Sorry, off topic, did anyone see Weiner vs, Bachman on Hannity last night? The DEMS (sorry true DEMS not progressives) are melting down. They must have believed their own prophecy that they will be in power for generations. The LIES just roll out of their mouths…We need to attack the Lame Stream Media and get “journalist” back into the picture or get rid of it altogether.

  58. Once NAFTA was implemented our jobs started leaving America and going to other countries. Why can’t they put tarrifs on imports to discourage places like Walmart from buying everything from China. It would make the cost of items we normally purchase go up but American’s would be put back to work. That’s a price I’m willing to pay and I think millions of others would too…..
