Report: Sheriff Knew About Loughner’s Actions & Previous Threats – Failed to Act

The sheriff failed to protect the community from this lunatic despite previous threats.

On Saturday evening Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik told reporters that the Tucson Safeway shooter had made previous threats.

There are now accusations that Dupnik knew about the previous threats by leftwing pothead Jared Loughner and did nothing to protect the Tucson community from this homicidal young man.
The Clolla Jumps:

The sheriff has been editorializing and politicizing the event since he took the podium to report on the incident. His blaming of radio personalities and bloggers is a pre-emptive strike because Mr. Dupnik knows this tragedy lays at his feet and his office. Six people died on his watch and he could have prevented it. He needs to step up and start apologizing to the families of the victims instead of spinning this event to serve his own political agenda.

Jared Loughner, pronounced by the Sheriff as Lock-ner, saying it was the Polish pronunciation. Of course he meant Scott or Irish but that isn’t the point. The point is he and his office have had previous contact with the alleged assailant in the past and that is how he knows how to pronounce the name.

Jared Loughner has been making death threats by phone to many people in Pima County including staff of Pima Community College, radio personalities and local bloggers. When Pima County Sheriff’s Office was informed, his deputies assured the victims that he was being well managed by the mental health system. It was also suggested that further pressing of charges would be unnecessary and probably cause more problems than it solved as Jared Loughner has a family member that works for Pima County. Amy Loughner is a Natural Resource specialist for the Pima County Parks and Recreation. My sympathies and my heart goes out to her and the rest of Mr. Loughner’s family. This tragedy must be tearing them up inside wondering if they had done the right things in trying to manage Jared’s obvious mental instability.

Every victim of his threats previously must also be wondering if this tragedy could have been prevented if they had been more aggressive in pursuing charges against Mr. Loughner. Perhaps with a felony conviction he would never have been able to lawfully by the Glock 9mm Model 19 that he used to strike down the lives of six people and decimate 14 more.

This was not an act of politics. This was an act of a mentally disturbed young man hell bent on getting his 15 minutes of infamy. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department was aware of his violent nature and they failed to act appropriately. This tragedy leads right back to Sherriff Dupnik and all the spin in the world is not going to change that fact.

I don’t know if the reason he was protected was the relative in the ccounty’s employ or what. You would think that what comes out of this might be the end of the knee JERK response from libs.

Watch the interview he did with Meghan Kelly. She demolished him in the most professional way possible. Having someone question his wisdom is something he clearly is not used to. When she would ask him a direct question, about his needing to tamp down the rhetoric, at least for legal reasons, he looked liked she’d smacked him.

Jarred’s mother is a public sector employee of Parks and Recreation. This means she likely puts on a brown shirt park patrol uniform, and knows all the law enforcement officials in town. The most pathetic part of the past couple of days has been jerks like you and many on the Left (including the mainstream media) that have tried to pin this tragedy on conservatives. Let me say again, the shooter is to blame for the tragedy, but if this information is correct, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department would definitely share at least some of the responsibility for not preventing this awhile ago. First in the first interview the Sheriff rather than give the facts as he knew them, opted to inject his personal feeling, a unfortunate result of that action puts the work of his investigators in question, do the results represent honest hard work, or is someone put in the position of providing results that will not make his boss look like a complete loon. Second I can hear the defense attorneys biting at the bit. This was not the place nor time for his actions and will cast doubt on all aspect of the case. I’d rather see justice for the victims rather than talking point for the media.

ARS 13-925 contains no provision for immunity from civil liability for expert witnesses or treating medical professionals to either the prohibited possessor or to third parties for harm caused by negligence in rendering the expert opinion or testimony or evaluation regarding the patient’s mental health status.

Conservatives always seem surprised by the activities of the Left. In the last three years of running HillBuzz, I honestly have come to believe that’s because conservatives are by and large really good people by nature. They are stunned, perpetually, by the actions of the Left because the Left consistently does things conservatives can’t imagine one human being doing to another. Because they would never do these things to people, conservatives can’t imagine other people ever doing them.

I’ve noticed Liz is a whiner who wants the world to be sunshine and lollipops ,as long as the sunshine is her preference and the lollipops are in her favorite flavors. while Echo thinks of himself as being soooooo much more intellectually superior to the rest of us however he is always trying to direct the course of the thread, as when he just started accusing me of homophobia. Where that came from I have no idea, and I will neither confirm or deny my opinion or even if I have an opinion regarding gay people.

Those that know this FREAK all say he was a dangerous person. The College he went to tried to toss him, the teachers were afraid to turn their backs on him. One instructor told him to get out of his class, he refused to go. The police had to remove him, and still the school couldn’t expel him because they said “He had not yet done anything wrong. Maybe you can help him write posts that don’t look like they were written by a 5th grader.

His mother works for the county, just maybe one reason he wasn’t handled more severely, but then again might not have had anything to do with it.
