Too funny.
Far left television host Keith Olbermann quit because MSNBC wouldn’t give him a raise.
The Deadline reported:
An MSNBC insider told this to Deadline today about Keith Olbermann’s departure Friday:
“This was all Keith’s choice. He has several times over the years said that he wants out of his contract. He never meant it until this year. He started lawyers negotiating twice this year. He stopped them in the spring. Then, about a month ago with the guidance of his new ICM team and a new LA manager (who were making zero $ on his current deal), he once again said he wanted to leave and this time they negotiated the full package.
“Because of all the false threats in the past, it was impossible for the network to know if he was really going to sign the final document yesterday. That’s why promos for his show were still running after he quit on the air. The network couldn’t really believe it or act on it until he said it on TV. They couldn’t tell the promo people to pull Keith’s show out of the cycle until they were sure. His staff learned he was quitting when they heard him say it on TV.
“Comcast has had no impact at all on MSNBC [yet]. Phil Griffin has complete authority. He makes deals without having to consult with anyone. He has made proposals over the years on the fly and in high-speed contexts where he is acting alone and with full authority. MSNBC is Phil Griffin’s network and no one at NBC thinks they have a better idea than Phil about what to do next.”
That’s alright, Keith.
Maybe, FOX News will hire you.
Hah!

Half a million viewers. A 30 million dollar contract. So they were spending what, sixty dollars per viewer over the period of the contract? And then there are all the other expenses on top of that. On average, did the audience members buy an amount of stuff worth way more than $60.00 apiece as a result of the advertizing on his show?
I don’t put too much stock in what anybody at NBC says about the real reason anyway. They have no legal obligation to tell us the truth.

Yep that’s it, Kieth wanted more money and the meanies wouldn’t give it to him. Yep he also wanted more time off so that he could spend more time helping the earth quake ravaged Haitians, yep that’s it, and he also had great ideas for a new fair and balanced show, yep that’s our Kieth.
Chisum commented:
Maybe NPR will hire him.

Good question: who Would hire him? NBC has passed repeatedly, CNN doesn’t want to “appear biased”, and it’s not like the Daily Kos is big enough for the both of them. What’s he gonna do? Go the independent route?
OxyCon commented:
So Olbermann is a quitter! He quit halfway through his contract.
What was that he used to say about Sarah Palin?
Mad Hatter commented:
LOL More money for what, telling lies, and spewing out DNC talking points?
NPR can’t afford to have him on the air since they’re on the verge of getting partially defunded by the Republicans.
He’s too toxic for any network to hire him, he’s his own worse enemy with a catalog of crazy talk to fill up his resume.
Chances are he’ll go to Satellite Radio where he can have an open mic to spew out his anti-anything-conservative hate, and his Obama propaganda. He won’t be on the sidelines during the 2012 elections, since he will try to help Obama get reelected.
Stephen Monteith commented:
Maybe he’ll run for office. What state does he live in, normally?
demoncrat commented:
It’s always about the money with liberals.

bigkahuna commented:
I am doubtful this is true but more likely a story put out by him to make it seem like he didnt get canned.
Either way I could care less as long as he is gone. Although it was fun watching him make an a$$ of himself.
I loved the comment above about him quitting his contract half way through. Hope Sarah nails him with that one
Makakilo commented:
He is the perfect replacement for Robert Gibbs. Too bad Gibbs” salary is relatively modest.

Indeed. It would be richly deserved criticism.

I won’t do a happy dance until Chris Matthews gets canned. He’s next IMO.

Leftist elites are such hypocrites. They go on and on about the supposed evils of greed in public, and then swim around in their giant piles of cash in their mansions like Scrooge McDuck.
Douglas commented:
If he wanted to renegotiate, there was no agreement on negotiation, how is there not a breach of contract? Was griffin dumb enough to sign on a soft slap settlement, when they should have taken everything expected over the next 2 years, plus some as well as a 4 year no compete? I signed a 2 year no compete, and noone knows who I am, so since I quit 9 months into that contract I was no compete for 2 years 3 months.
If the details leak out I would like to know that answer.
If he was fired, then MSNBNC has to honor a portion of the contract, while reducing other punishments within it. I’m curious about that.

30 million a year, eh? How’s that communism working out for you, Keith? Idiot!

Hopefully Comcast disputes Basketcase Olberdork’s contract and take the fraud to TV court…

I guess this means that he will be “holding it all in” now? Isn’t that dangerous?
