Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) called out Sheriff Clarence Dupnik for politicizing the Tucson shootings by the the crazy leftwing pothead this weekend.

On Saturday Sheriff Dupnik blamed the “prejudice and bigotry” in Arizona for the shooting.
Later we found out the killer had been plotting against Giffords since 2007.

Good for Representative Franks.
It’s about time.

  1. Thank you for the update explaining the removal of the previous post. In light of all the mis-information being slung about, you were certainly right in removing the piece. This is what keeps Gateway a “class act”.

  2. Boy those guys at the White House and da Press sure are missing Rahm Emanuel’s Leadership at the Office of Crisis Manufacturing and Exploitation.

    roflmao

  3. This is typical Democrat/Liberal tactic. Blame others that their supports are guilty of. This Sheriff knows the criminal record of the shooter. He knows this was a troubled youth. Yet will point fingers at those not guilty as the reason why it happened.
It is the typical divide the country. Just as Germans did in the 30′s. Those same liberal policies being used today so they can keep any communication between groups. Make Conservatives Evil when they are usually very law abiding.
This sheriff is guilty of claiming one group is evil which in fact is good. And his politics are good when it is the policies of his group that actual the root of the problem in society.

  4. Let’s face it – this killer was a socialist, communist, left-wing, democrat. His disease might have been a little more advanced than others on the left, but they are all diseased in the mind.

  5. Proof that libs are politicizing this tragedy. There were 6 innocent people killed, including a little girl. Let’s not ignore the fact that 6 families are shattered and those victims were not all registered card-carrying Democrats. Shameless liberals.

  6. the sheriff was only doing what he is suppose to do. to a marxist everything is political.

  7. [Democrats Will Introduce Legislation Outlawing Inflammatory Language (Video)] quite possibly good ole’ sheriff dupnik would be a good place to start……

  8. Judy Clarke will defend Jared Loughner

Previous clients (all now serving time):
    9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui
    “Unabomber” Theodore Kaczynski
    Atlanta Olympics bomber Eric Rudolph
Susan Smith, who drowned her toddlers in 1994

  9. Sheriff Dupnik calls his opponents RACISTS…yet he says that people are using vile rhetoric.

  10. This is what happens when people and a nation stray from God and the truth.

  11. I must have missed something, but WorldNetDaily, Dr. Jerome Corsi, still has an article up regarding Giffords subscribing to the shooter’s YouTube account. Is this related to the post that was pulled from here?

Did Giffords subscribe to assassin’s YouTube?

“NEW YORK – In a bizarre turn of events, the YouTube website of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords suggests she subscribed to the YouTube channel of her suspected attempted assassin, Jarred Loughner, at some point before the shooting incident.

Given YouTube rules, for Giffords to subscribe to Loughner’s YouTube channel would have required an affirmative action taken by Giffords or by someone with access to her YouTube username and password to establish the subscription link.

Loughner’s YouTube subscription channel under the username “Classitup10″ was created on Oct. 25, 2010, and his last two videos were posted to the channel on Dec. 15, 2010, approximately three weeks before the shooting..

While it is now known that Loughner worked for Gifford’s election campaign in 2007, that Gifford subscribed to Loughner’s website since Oct. 25, 2010, suggests the two may have been in contact more recently.

Oddly, the only other YouTube channel Giffords subscribed to was that of former Rep. Ike Skelton, D-Mo., who lost his seat in November to Republican challenger Vicky Hartzler.

A page from Gifford’s YouTube website demonstrates she had subscribed to only two YouTube users: Loughner (username: Classitup10) and Rep. Ike Skelton…”

  12. I gotta wonder. That FB page was up within an hour of the shooting, I got a screenie of it myself, so who put it up? I think that is a question that needs to be explored.

Are we certain it was not his FB page? Not that it matters since all his other internet ravings show that he was b*tsh*t crazy from the get-go anyhow. And all his friends paint him as a leftist radical.

But you have to wonder who would think to put up a FB page that quickly after an incident like this and what would their motivation be?

  13. Can you believe there is a billionaire out there willing to pay rooms full of political activists to read the posts of a lone blogger in St. Louis?

They are even paid to read the comments.

How many people can say that Gateway?

  14. Again Jim proves my earlier point. Conservatives admit when they’re wrong.

Libs NEVER DO. Ever. Not in a million years.

    =====

Jim, on the same topic: a Day of the Dead decoration is not a satanic altar. No matter what the UK Sun might say. No more “satanic” than holloweeen decorations. That was a seriously desparate stretch. (when absolutely no desparation or grasping is required at this point, given the amount of evidence that this guy was anything BUT a Rightwinger)

The Sun is the Weekly World News of the UK — furthermore, they cannot be expected to know that Arizona and Mexico like to celebrate the Day of the Dead. It ain’t quite Anton LaVey, not by a longshot. I have a beef with Halloween and that “holiday”, but still, it’s common in Arizona. Google “Day of the Dead decorations”. His mom probably put that display up, for all we know.

  15. I see a job in the Obama Praetorian Guard for Sheriff Dupnik

  16. Don’t be so smug there #13, his friends ALL describe him as a committed left winger, just because some putz put up a false FB does not change his political leanings. He worked for the Gifford campaign in 2007, so he remains firmly one of yours.

And if he worked for her do you really think he voted Republican in 2008? Get a grip.

  17. Sheriff D-Dipnik:

We are in the very early stages of this investigation. But, I have read the talking points from Obama’s staff and as a democrat I must agree.

When one party, the Republican party, is doing everything they can to block the other party, the Democratic party, from making America a better place, it is no wonder that some troubled guy shoots a Democrat…oh and kills a few old people, a judge and a child.

No, I did not take any action to stop this guy even though he had written and probably met Congresswomen Giffords. That would amount to profiling. I am against profiling illegal aliens.

As lead investigator I was too busy reading the various DNC talking points memos to ask this guy why he did it because, I already have the answer…

I don’t want to cause a mistrial in the case by speculating on the root cause of this massacre but, lets just say it is Sarah Palin fault.

Now, I must reiterate I have not questioned this troubled suspect because he is obviously a nut case pushed over the edge by the Vast Right Wing Media. He probably should get a well deserved Valium vacation until he is mental able to return to civilian life.

Thanks to President Obama this country is not what it was 70 years ago. I will let the viewers of CNN and MSNBC decide what this bigoted country is. I cannot answer any more questions. Good day.

  18. He was a 9/11 “Truther.”

That itself is more accurate than this “satanic altar” nonsense. Half the people in Arizona are into Satanism if this guy was. And damn, look at the google images on that search term. This murderer’s “shrine” was pitiful and sparse compared to what most celebrants put up.

    Granny was right.

  19. Jim: please understand that I am not asking for a retraction of that whole post.

An “UPDATE” might be in order, though, given what we have recently learned about the Day of the Dead decorations. UK Sun? Seriously?

  20. NY Daily News. My bad.

I get them confused sometimes, since they both have that same “supermarket tabloid” mojo in their design, style, and editorial decisions.

  21. If Dupnik were acting as a responsible law enforcement official, his only comment to any question should be that he can not comment on an ongoing investigation. To do otherwise could cause problems when the case is brought to trial. He is clearly not acting as a responsible law enforcement official. He is acting like a two bit political hack who gets his talking points from the Center For American Progress.

  22. Hey Sheriff Dupnik, the facts are emerging that show the gunman had a history of contacts and perhaps threats against the Congresswoman. When will investigations begin into your failed security coverage of the event? I suppose this happened on your watch right? Your failed security coverage is part of what needs to be explored here. You should have had this guy under surveillance given his past history. You have been negligent in your duties, or so it seems. More investigations into you are needed.

  23. But January made me shiver
    With every paper I’d deliver.
    Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

    I can’t remember if I laughed
When I read the left wing bias crap
But something touched me deep inside
    The day the journalism died.

  24. http://townhall.com/columnists/JohnHawkins/2010/0

    Remember some of these quotes?

How about the one where Maher stated how many people would be alive if Dick Cheney were dead?

  25. Sheriff Dudley Do Right, is no more than a political shrill, he’s done his part for the Socialist movement. Any investigation his office conducts in this case will be highly suspect. He’s staked his claim to the crime, and must now insure that evidence collected fits his narrative, or comes out looking like fool, or worse. In his mind, climbing the rungs of power far outweigh the need for equal justice and truth. There is a phrase the liberal youth of the sixties used when confronting law enforcement men and women, I don’t like it, so just say this man has even less worth in the eyes of Muslims.

  26. The sheriff is highly partisan and irresponsible enough to inject his partisanship into a current case. He is also incompetent, in that he should have been aware of this nutcase prior to last week.

  27. #11

Regarding Rep. Gifford’s YouTube account subscribing to Loughner’s — is there any actual proof the subscription actually happened prior to the shooting rather than afterword?

The most likely explanation is that a staffer subscribed after the event in order to keep tabs on Loughner’s account. A staffer probably had charge of managing that account anyway (rather than a busy congressperson managing it).

  28. There are new unsubstantiated reports that Loughner has made other threats, and no action was taken by the incompetent sheriff’s office. Also note that the same sheriff refuses to enforce AZ SB 1070 regarding illegal alien immigration.

This is not surprising, in that the incompetent sheriff is more interested in blabbering on about partisan politics than in commenting professionally about the status of a high-profile case while he is being interviewed on national television.

  29. Edouard, your questions beg more questions. Did your read the WND article? It explains how the subscription had to be initiated and approved. YouTube would have all the relevant data, so perhaps some aspiring investigative reporter should dig into the case and find all the answers. What would be the motive for falsifying the subscription either in the past or now? Based on the WND article, the “most likely explanation is that” it is an actual subscription, but beyond that, who initiated it and when is yet to be explained.

  31. So when is the stupid sheriff up for re-election? I hope this year and the people in his county has the will to vote him out!

  32. This tragedy has brought some of the best to the fore-
I did not know of Rep Trent Franks – he appears to be one who will hold the line–honorably…
    C-CS

  33. Even Rep. Franks is doing the usual republican tap dance here in an attempt to appear “reasonable”.

He says, (sic) “this is a disturbed young man whose reading material included Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifest. We certainly can’t draw any political conclusions.”

    ??????????????????????????

YES, YOU CAN! He was a left wing nutjob! Call a spade a spade, for cryin’ out loud.

  34. Probably the most obscene part of Sheriff Dupenik’s disgraceful rant is that he actually put blame on the people’s elected representatives when they vote against a leftist agenda in Congress! In his warped mind, it is wrong to prevent Democrats from imposing their notion of “making the country a better place” (even when they use unconstitutional means).

Where was Dupe’s outrage when Democrats obstructed conservative legislation and even filibustered judicial nominees? Oh, and let’s see what he says when Democrats in the Senate block everything passed the House. Or when Obummer vetoes legislation passed by both the whole Congress.

Sheriff Dupe has revealed himself as a totalitarian. He believes that nobody should be permitted to speak publicly against the leftist agenda or vote against it, even when their constituents elect them to do exactly that.

Dupenik, I hope your flacks are reading this: You are a menace.

  35. His favorite books include The Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf. All together now:

  36. NOT THAT THERE’S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!
