Mission Accomplished!

After blaming the tea party for the mass slaughter on Saturday one tea party leader is receiving death threats. The sheriff’s office told Tucson tea party leader Trent Humphries to stay home.
The Tuscon Tea Party leader started receiving death threats since the shootings at the Safeway on Saturday.
Talking Points Memo reported, via Free Republic:
Trent Humphries, the leader of the largest tea party group in this mourning southern Arizona city, has nothing but praise for the way President Obama has led the nation through the aftermath of Saturday’s mass shooting at a constituent event for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ). But Humphries won’t be there tonight when Obama speaks at a memorial rally intended to unify Tucson after six people were killed in the tragedy.
Humphries says he’s been getting threats at his home from people who seem to hold him and his organization partially responsible for the shootings Saturday.
Humphries told TPM he’s called the Sheriff’s department more than once in the past few days to make them aware of threatening phone calls.
“We got a not-so-veiled threat,” Humprhies told me. “The Sheriff’s deputies told me to stay away from public places.”
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Humphries said the threats have coincided with Saturday’s shooting and began nearly right away.
“We had people say, ‘too bad it wasn’t your family that was killed,’” Humphries told me. Other angry calls have come in as well. “‘The blood of that little girl on your hands,’” Humphries recalled one message saying.
But it was a new call that came in this week that Humphries said had him staying out of public view for a while.
“It was something like ‘we hate you and we’re going to stand against you and we’re going to use our First and Second Amendment rights to stop you,’” Humphries told me.
Nice work, Sheriff Dupnik.

You know, as I reread that statement – ““We got a not-so-veiled threat,” Humprhies told me. “The Sheriff’s deputies told me to stay away from public places.”” – it almost makes me wonder if the not-so-veiled threat came from the Sheriff’s deputies. . . .

This Tea Party Leader should take these threats seriously and so should the authorities, because if these people who are threatening him believe the man who killed those people did it because he are mad that conservatives didn’t like the way Obama was running the country, then they certainly will use the same excuse to think they have reason to kill conservatives. What I don’t understand is how these crazy-ass democrats can explain how a socialist leftard shot up those he would most likely be affiliated with on a political level?

Curry Walker commented:
Well folks it is time to connect the dots. It seems the Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has no problems blaming and politicizing a blood bath caused by a deranged person. Clarence Dupnik has problems accepting the responsibility of the office he holds. Setting aside all of the problems, the sad thing is he may have harmed the case against Jared Loughner. Now to the point his deride against the right wing media is very telling about how he views his job. He does not view the job as a law enforcement position but as a political position. This is a lawmaker has already admitted he selects and chooses the laws of the state that he will enforce. How far would he be willing to carry his left wing politics? Would he and has he overlook law breakers that have threatened people in Prima County? Has he in the past chosen not to enforce the law and record threats of physical harm and report these people to the state and to the federal authorities? It is my opinion if a lawmaker does not enforced laws of the state he should be the first person to be investigated in this horrible shooting. The moment he injected politics into the case he became a law breaker because he may have harmed the case against this deranged perso. Too many times those who is supposed to be enforcing the laws and regulations of the state are given a pass when they fail their duty or choose not to enforce the laws because of politics or back room deals. Clarence Dupnik should be impeached or thrown out of office for jading the case against Jared Loughner . There should be new laws passed by federal and state lawmakers enforcing the firing and impeaching of judges, law enforcement officers, and regulation enforcers that does not enforce the constitution and the laws and regulations of the state. These new laws should impose penalties on those that choose not to enforce the laws of the state. Now folks we would then see a major change in the way the laws and regulations were enforced in this country and the violence would be quelled because those who is protecting the society is doing their jobs instead continuing to politick and make back room deals after an election is over.

Lets see Dupnik says that the tea party and right wing radio caused Loughner to kill all those people. Well now that the leader of the Pima county tea party is getting death threats and should something happen to him, can we then put the blame on Dubnik. Dubnik has done exactly what he is railing against, but then again the left does that all the time. Crime comparisons with Maricopa county (Joe Arpaio) Muder Pima 7 times more, burglary 5 times more, assault 11 times more, and on and on. Can you see the difference? One Sheriff obeys and upholds the law, and the other picks and chooses what laws he will uphold. The one that upholds the law has the DOJ come down on him, while the other gets phone calls from Obama thanking him for a GOOD JOB. Dubnik has his own kids in jail, and if anything happens to the tea party head, belongs in jail himself.

I agree with Texmom. This is a sort of baiting by the left (somewhat purposeful, somewhat not). Mainstream liberals are doing a great job of digging their own hole and no one on the right or in the center should disrupt their own wearing down of their ‘message’ and influence on this nation. The whole of the left are like children with ADD who have trouble concentrating on one thing and overwhelm themselves. That’s where we need to be…the challenge to their own weak beliefs.

They jumped the shark and hoped a rightwing connection with Loughner would emerge. Didn’t happen, but the accusations took on inertial force and snowballed. Having committed, they don’t seem to know how to disengage a failed attempt to paint the shooting as a political murder by a right wing extremist, something they hoped to create to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. Rush, Hannity, FOX, Beck, et al is killing the left, not by arguing, but by arguing too well. The libs posit this idea or that bill and make this promise and that prediction, and over and over and over, conservative media proves it wrong. For the progressive agenda to succeed, they must be stopped.
It is an old truism that when your enemy is talking stupid, let him talk, and when he is digging himself into a hole, let him dig. The NYT and the network news outlets have been fading fast in the age of the internet and a new media that is no longer ‘alternative’, so quickly has it subsumed the old guard of the NYT, Wash Post, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc., rendering these old giants into jealous pikers and shrill potshotters. They have lost their place at the top of the mountain of influence. Whereas only moving to the center to capture a wider audience could have slowed the pace of their downward trajectory, they have instead moved even further left, and now, with the reporting on the AZ shooting, they have completely abandoned anything resembling journalism and are now simple cheerleaders for the progressive/leftist cause.
I say let them go on with it, grant them their suicidal plunge, and soon Obama and the left will lose the only thing that got them into power in 2008 – the no longer mainstream media. They will still have NYT, Wash Post, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc., but it won’t be enough now that they’ve crossed entirely over and away from journalism.
