More Bad News for Obama Regime… Americans Agree With Tea Party- Want to Cut Spending

Unfortunately for democrats 77% of Americans agree with the tea party, want government to cut spending.
CBS reported, via JWF:

A new CBS News poll finds that Americans strongly prefer cutting spending to raising taxes to reduce the federal deficit. While 77 percent prefer to cut spending, just nine percent call for raising taxes. Another nine percent want to do both.

Yet most Americans could not volunteer a program they’d be willing to see cut in order to reduce the deficit – only 38 percent could name a program they would support cutting. The top responses were military/defense (six percent), Social Security/Medicare (four percent) and welfare/food stamps (four percent).

Department of Energy. (They haven’t produced any, or anything else.)

Cut all departments by 5% immediately. All departments, all agencies, no exemptions.

Then, start cutting spending.

Remember when they were passing Obamacare,
they said there was $450 Billion waste fraud and abuse in the health system.
Since it was passed, you haven’t heard a peep about it.

CBS is being slick slick slick here. They wrote the ENTIRE piece so they could put ‘military’ as what Americans want cut.

Can we update the 1798 slogan:
“BILLIONS FOR DEFENSE AND NOT A PENNY FOR TRIBUTE!”

For example, The GSA is awash in “stimulus” cash they don’t need to spend ASAP on frivolities. A real comfort to the unemployed who lost jobs due to more government regs, higher taxes.

Eliminate (by allowing a vote of the people) most “non-profit” parasites. These unelected and unaccountable grant-writing machines must go.

Eliminate federal mandates which require state and local funding.

P.S.: Since the private sector pays all public wages and taxes, simply eliminate all taxes from the public sector. Then, reduce government spending by that identical amount. Result: no net pay cut for those public employees still employed and a substantial reduction in the cost of government. For those who might not get it, a public employee tax is a hidden tax paid by those of us in the private sector.

I’m for that. On 9-11-01 the woman who was then president of the American Red Cross was bringing in a salary of $450,000 a year. Any organization who can afford to pay that kind of salary is not “non-profit” in my book and can darned well pay their fair share of the tax burden.

Something I would add to you list – set a definite amount of money for presidential travel and entertainment expense. If the POTUS wants to throw million dollar parties and hot foot it all over creation on vacation, let him do that at his own expense. No more of this paying for a round trip first class ticket while We The People pick up the rest of the quarter of a million cost of a plane ride hidden in the military budget or pay for an entire hotel’s worth of rooms for a Secret Service detail that numbers over one hundred hidden in the Treasury budget.

republicans are aiming to cut 100 billion. with a 14 trillion deficit, this is nothing. hell, obama is raising a billion for his 2012 reelection. who is going to even compete with hi? how much of this “obama money” is going to come from main street? all of this deficit spending had to line someone’s pockets. driving up the cost of oil by not investing or outright prohibiting drilling combined with costly and ineffective energy alternatives has made a lot of muslim countries richer. i am sure some of that money is going to come back to obama for his war chest.

the fight to curb spending begins with stopping obama and the democrats.

Over the past couple of years, I remember reading many blog posts about specific programs or purchases that were a waste of money. It seems that, in addition to the many good suggestions made here in these posted comments, a boatload of $$$ could be saved by going through the expeditures, line by line, red pencil in hand, even when that means going through the bills Congress signed into money-spending law. (Hey, at least those bills would finally be read by someone in Congress, even if not by someone who was in Congress at the time they were signed into law.)

(sorry, but the nation is in urgent need of fiscal change before we can settle back for social changes. )when more people are tuned into jersey shore than the news, we have a problem. i honestly believe people have been conditioned to living inside a bubble. people don’t realize how fragile our world economy is at this moment. until we collapse like ireland or greece, nothing is going to get us out of our malaise. in the news, a survivor of the tucson shooting actually blamed tea partiers and palin as much for his predicament as he did the actual shooter. how can you rescue a nation made up of so many morons?

Everybody pays 25% taxes on his salary. VAT stays at a stable point. The currency returns to the gold standard.

Then the government has to sit down and actually THINK before spending. What do we need? What don’t we need? What can we afford? What can’t we afford? Something the majority of the households in the country have to do.

Germany is, once again, the perfect example. There’s a regiment in Germany, where they can train to fire an RPG… once every month. Well, one man can do it. The regiment has 12 RPGs for the entire year. They also bought a new gunship, but have to list it as “support helicopter”, because the German army can’t afford the missiles for it. Germany has scrapped hundreds of tanks and the number of active soldiers will be even more reduced (below 200,000) within the next few years.

Yet… Germany’s finances are ruined. And it’s like that in pretty much every EU country.

roll all of the govt spending back to when he was in his oats and really a big-time donk. That would be say 93-94 budget. The figures stood at 4.4 Trillion dollars. Anything passed after that yr, is cut. Remember, nothing is forever in govt. A lessening of the rate of increase is considered a tax decrease by the Donks. and if the meat axe gets something valuable then there can be a trade-off

On Glenn Beck, he had Jim Rogers on. Look up on Beck’s site to see Rogers’ cv, but he said that the key is to not cut a little here and there but to take an axe to the budget.Be tough. I hope that section of Beck’s is on his site as this guy is correct.

Our seniors paid into both of these programs, and our politicians stole $2.5 TRILLION from S.S. alone…never paid it back.

One would think these politicians would be honest enough to cut out all things going to foreigners, and start beefing up those funds that were stolen from our seniors!
