Lib Rep. McCarthy Who Knows Nothing About Guns to Introduce New Legislation Banning Guns (Video)

Don’t ever let a horrible slaughter at a supermarket go to waste.

Far left Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), pounced on the shooting massacre in Tucson Sunday, promising to introduce legislation as soon as Monday targeting the high-capacity ammunition the gunman used.

In case you are not familiar with this far left democrat, she is the same representative who introduced an assault weapons ban in 2007 to regulate semi-automatic assault weapons including weapons that have pistol grips, forward grips or barrel shrouds.
Of course, she had no idea what a barrel shroud was even though she introduced the bill.

I must take issue with your title. Although I don’t agree with her, she does know something about guns. Her husband was killed by a madman on the Long Island railroad about 17 years ago. I think her son was also wounded quite severly. I lived in New York and took that same train. It was a horror that had an impact on everyone that rode the rails for severel months.

This is nothing new for her. She does this on a regular basis. In fact the tragedy she suffered was the reason she was elected in the first place.

McCarthy’s husband was murdered in a gun free city. His murder is a perfect example of the folly and harm of gun control. In NY, 99.92% of the population are not allowed to carry guns legally. How did gun control and being defenseless protect his life?

We need to start forcing the liberals and the corrupt bastards, how did gun control help? Prove gun control works. They can’t and won’t even try.

We should really focus on mental illness and changing the laws so that people who are sick are committed to a hospital for help. The Liberal path of forcing mentally ill people on the streets harms the patient and society in general. Hinkley, Chou, and now this nut-job demonstrate the failure of our mental health program. Liberals and their policies caused this and all of the gun control in the world would have stopped it.

How does it happen that in a state with very liberty-oriented concealed carry laws does a crowd of several dozen gather and nobody is carrying except a person hell-bent on killing as many as possible?

Criminals don’t obey laws, that’s why they’re criminals. If they could get what they wanted through legitimate means, why risk incarceration? If you live in a gated community, or guarded building/facility, or can afford private security, a gun isn’t high on your list of protection options. As soon as you’re mugged by the reality of living among the lumpenproles, the gun option may start its ascent on that enlightened list. Peace out!

Here’s another way of looking at the gun control issue.

Imagine, if you will, a grade school classroom with 30 kids and one teacher.

Now, let’s say the teacher creates three for the classroom, rules the kids must follow, rules that keep the classroom orderly and conducive to learning.

The three rules are

1. No talking during lessons
2. Stay in your seats during lessons.
3. Respect your fellow classmates.

Now, suppose that despite those rules, ten out of the thirty kids repeatedly do not follow them and continually disrupt class. In addition, they push the other kids around.

Okay–now suppose that in order to punish the ten kids for not following the rules, the teacher decides to create more rules of conduct.

The ten kids still don’t follow.

So the teacher creates even more rules.

In every instance, the twenty kids who actually follow the rules are finding themselves saddled with more and sometimes stricter rules.

They’ll follow them, of course. They’re good students.

But those ten kids repeatedly do not.

And the teacher creates even more rules.

Think about this for a moment.

As a solution, does it make sense?

Go ahead. Think about it.

No. It doesn’t make sense.

Here’s the thing: this is exactly what gun control is doing.

The ten kids (criminals) are breaking the three rules (established gun laws) so in response, the teacher (gun control advocates) create more rules to make sure the three rules are being followed.

Now let me ask you: if you thought the classroom example didn’t work, what makes you think gun control efforts will?

In 2009 a madman in Tokyo killed more than 9 people in Akihabara. He did it in broad daylight with two LEOs not far away. The LEOs had no idea what was going on until they saw him attacking a person. They only saw several people down. When they realized what he was doing, they finally engaged him.

He was using a knife. And according to the two LEOs the attacker was moving so fast that they didn’t know what was going on in the beginning.

So when are we going to ban knives, which are THE number one “tool” for killing and hurting people?

I know the crime stats in my country. The amount of permits has more than doubled in the past years, the amount of crimes with legal guns has dropped sharply. Legal guns are the least used “tool” for crimes in my country, even though there are more than ever before by now.

In the case of the Akihabara attacker some people said “it would have been worse if he had a gun.”

Then I tried to imagine that scenario. The two LEOs would have heard the shots and could have engaged him earlier, maybe saving lives. Somebody with a gun could have stopped him.

And, most importantly, whenever I hear this “argument”, I tell people: “tell that to the families of the victims.”

We continue to see every day what utter incompetent, unintelligent, shallow people we have elected to represent us.

The problem we have with respect to the AZ shooter is a MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEM that continues to go unaddressed despite how painfully obvious it is. Way before Son of Sam, Jeffrey Dahmer, Harris and Klebold, Seung-Hui Cho, and many others, we have allowed very obviously mentally ill people to walk amongst us and wreak havoc.

Senseless killings will continue to occur as long as we elect politicians that don’t even have the vision to see what is in front of their very eyes. It is neither appropriate nor compassionate to allow severely mentally ill people to walk the streets. Until we establish policies and to stop the denial, the real problem will remain tragically unaddressed. Mentally ill people will go without care, people will die and stupid politicians will try to ban barrel shrouds instead of addressing the obvious issue.

Murder rate per 100,00 people in Wash DC, where guns laws are among the tightest: 24.

This is a stat consistent across the board – where guns are more heavily controlled, gun violence is higher.

No one had the gun or the stones to do other than sit there COWERING and waiting to die. Carolyn wants to give you all the chance to see how it feels to be slaughtered like a swine.

Now, they want to build a mosque to celebrate the 9/11 attacks . . . That was worse than Ferguson.

The UK has very strict anti-gun laws, yet a lot of cops over there are getting shot at almost on a daily basis.

Let me bore all of you with a statistic.

In 2001, the violent crimes resulting in death or injury in Austria were committed with the following weapons:

1% with legal rifles
3% with legal handguns
5% with illegal guns
44% with knives
34% any other weapon like axes, bats, etc
4% asphyxation and strangulation
9% “other”

4% of all the violent crimes in Austria in 2001 were done with legal guns. More people were murdered with knives and other random objects.

The stats also tell us that the number of permits for guns in Austria has doubled between 1982 and 1998, yet the number of gun related crimes and violence dropped by 40%.

There are plenty of self defense cases in Austria where people use guns. Happens several times every year. 2010 has seen an alltime high from what I’ve heard.

Another example:
Feudal Japan was extremely well armed, yet public fights were the exception not the norm. In fact, due to the ~2 million men constantly under arms (not counting all the secret weapons that lurked around in the hands of peasants and criminals, and not counting the ashigaru and samurai women, who were all armed as well) Japan in the Edo period brought forth a very polite society where arts, music, etc, bloomed.

I rest my case.

Guns don’t kill people. I carry at work and whenever I have the opportunity, simply because of how our security situation over here has gone down the sewer. In Germany every 4 minutes a woman is assaulted, and that’s just the official statistic, the actual number is most likely a lot worse.

And if you look at which countries have the most violent crime… you will quickly see that the EU countries with the strictest anti-gun laws are on top. The US usually doesn’t make it into the top ten of such lists.

But guns at home, for defense, are bad. They’re not necessary. That’s what the anti-gunners say.

Let me get this in the words of the Brady Campaign:

According to Sarah Brady:

“To me, the only reason for guns in civilian hands is for sporting purposes.”
(Tom Jackson, “Keeping the Battle Alive,” Tampa Tribune, Oct. 21, 1993)

Her husband,Jim Brady, on handgun ownership:

“For target shooting, that’s okay….For defense of the home, that’s why we have police departments.”
(“In Step With: James Brady,” Parade Magazine, June 26, 1994, p. 18)

Read that second part again:

“For defense of the home, that’s why we have police departments.”

I live 10 minutes -on foot- away from a police station. They would take more than 15 minutes to my place, if I had the time to call them in case of an armed burglary (which I wouldn’t.)

Let me get just one example of what will happen even more often once guns are banned:

18 minutes of hell just so that the anti-gunners can feel morally superior. How many more such cases are there? Must be thousands.

If the leftist who did the killings used a car he could have killed more people. Maybe we should considering banning full sized cars, trucks and suvs because they could have been a weapon of choice and done a lot more damage, automobiles aren’t protected in the Constitution so let’s ban them!

If the killer used gasoline or alcohol and put it in bottles or balloons and added some fire to it then he could have killed more people in a even more horrible way. Let’s ban gasoline, matches, lighters, balloons, glass bottles, plastic bottles and alcohol.

She is going to ban “high capacity ammunition”? Maybe some of the folks favoring her ban can describe high capacity ammunition. The comment suggests that either she or the reporter writing the story don’t have much of a clue about firearms, or just want guns banned and don’t care what they say.

I reload 9mm to .45 Colt and don’t know what high capacity ammunition might be. Shotguns, maybe?

I hate to tell you, but being shot, or shot at, makes you about as much of an expert on guns as getting hit by a train makes you an expert on trains. She isn’t even slightly familiar with the mechanics or operation of firearms, you dolt. Simply using the term “high capacity ammunition” tells us all we need to know, since there is no such thing. There is high velocity ammunition, and there are high capacity magazines, but high “capacity” ammunition is a contradiction in terms. It’s as stupid as using the term “assault weapon”. My definition of “assault weapon” is any weapon that happens to be pointed at me. It has nothing to do with the type of grip it has, or how many rounds of ammunition it holds, or anything else. Using terms like “high capacity ammunition”, and “assault weapon” are terms dreamed up by the anti-gun lobby to put fear in the hearts of uneducated dolts who know absolutely nothing about firearms. Like Representative McCarthy ….

Don’t you wish? In my opinion, the fact that there are so many liberals in America living in their own little fantasy world is the root of ALL of our problems. After decades of this ‘gun control’ insanity one can generally count on gun grabbers to be completely ignorant about guns. I’m sure there’s a few exceptions that then prove the rule. They also do everything they can to ignore or demonize any real world facts that run counter to their belief system. The deal from fear and cowardice. They are a greater danger than the occasional crazy person with a gun.

Taking away firearms will not deter these misfits from their goal! Legislators may take away the availability of acquiring a firearm, but these misfits will instead, utilize other methods such as the one used by Timothy MacVeigh, Irish terrorists, and Al Quaida. Making an explosive device is much easier than purchasing a firearm, and will obviously do greater harm. That is the alternative that most of the anti-gun legislators fail to see!
