Here’s more on that new national tone…

A Madison Theater is running a play where right-wingers are invited to dinner and then murdered.
It’s art.
620 WTMJ and The Daily Page reported:
Five lefty graduate students in Iowa City gather for weekly dinners to revel in their shared (and sometimes smug) world view. The first dinner we witness ignites a surprising shared mission when one of the students invites the truck driver who offered him roadside assistance to join them. This young man, a patriotic Desert Storm vet, first startles the group when he insists on saying grace before the vegan meal and then goes on to praise Hitler, alarming and repulsing the other dinners. Threats and violence ensue, and one of the hosts stabs him.
As he lies bleeding on an area rug, the quintet, after some debate and initial hand-wringing, decide that they have done society a favor by eliminating him and silencing his dangerous words. They also decide that since participating in protests and sit-ins has been a futile way to fight the power, this new dinner party/murder method may be a more effective technique in coping with right-wing adversaries.
Soon a parade of special guests is invited to dine, and when their dinner conversation proves repellent, they are given poisoned wine and buried in the backyard. Our smarty-pants grad students toast themselves for making a difference each time and feel vindicated when they learn that their first victim, the trucker, was implicated in a heinous crime. The death toll grows, and the tomato plants seen through the patio door flourish.

These are graduate students?
My 7-year old can come up with a better story than that.
So much for Iowa schools. They breed idiots.
squeaky commented:
the only thing they don’t appear to notice is their own hypocrisy.

And to think, it feels like only last week the Dems were shrieking about civility.
Thank heaven for that second amendment. Seeing this makes me think of conceal-carry. Gun beats knife.
Rider-Soldier, NEA was NEVER about art. It was about supporting liberal ‘artists.’ See, for example, the cross in a jar of urine scenario.

I saw this on cable one night. It is already a movie or the play is adapted from the movie, don’t know, doesn’t matter. Turned the movie off when I saw where it was going. Funny thing is you HAVE to be a leftist who fantasizes about murder to enjoy things like this because they are usually poorly written, extremely one-sided pooring pieces of mental masturbation with no sub-plots, no twists, no mystery, no likable characters, and no point.
PeterJR1961 commented:
Sounds like they have made a play out of the movie “The Last Supper”(1995).

2 things -
#1 – Hitler was athiest so it would be reasonable to assume his followers would be also.
#2 – Anyone pretending to be rightwing immediately give themselves away as totalitarian leftists if they have any affection for Hitler or NAZI Germany (including the Workers party ala 1920′s that became the NAZI party).

This is just terrifying really. We have a generation or 3 raised in Fabian socialism/humanism, a complete lack of God, no respect for human life, no understanding of empathy or compassion and a hatred for freedom of thought.
This is the generation that will be in charge of us when we’re elderly and powerless.
squeaky commented:
in the 1995 movie version a rush limbough inspired character “norman” turns the tables so to speak.

I think it’s accurate to say that:
1. Any speech by anyone even remotely conservative and even indirectly critical of the Democratic party and/or a Democratic president is hate speech that incites violence.
2. Actually showing the murder of a sitting President in a film, or a play showing conservatives being killed is “art.”
Got it?
Bubbatroid commented:
Oh that is rich. The modern liberal mind – of course, the obvious next step after saying grace is to praise Hitler! Doesn’t everybody do it that way??!?!!?
“They’re on to us, guys! Quick, hide your copies of “Mein Kampf!” He he.
I especially love the part about stabbing the truck-driving Desert Storm vet to death. Yeah, that’s credible – vets everywhere are shaking in their combat boots at the sight of those three! (especially the guy with the socialist Euro-trash glasses on the left. Oooh! Scary! “PLEASE don’t stab me, hip lefty socialist Euro dude!”)
Let’s not be too hard on the chitlins – this is simply the way that liberals play “cowboys and indians.” Some folks just hit puberty much (much much) later than others!

right wingers never supported hitler. they fought him. now the left, thats a different story. they allied with hitler, the non-aggression pact. they demonstrated in this country againist the imperialist war againist dear adolph. you can’t blame these young college students for not knowning this, the non-aggression pact has disappeared from our history textbooks.
Eddie Kovacs commented:
Same thing I thought. Do you know how that one ends? (I’d say “spoiler alert” but chances are you’re not going to watch it through to the end anyway.) One of these hated guests finds out the wine at the meal is poisoned, and slips the poison into the left-wingers’ drinks instead. After they’re all dead, we hear a voice-over from their last intended victim saying now he’s thinking of running for President.
In other words, like Easy Rider, it has a happy ending if you’re looking at it from a certain point of view…

They have just modified a 1995 movie of the same name. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113613/

Let them play act, it’s about as close as these panty-waste drains on Mommy and Daddy’s wallets will ever get to confronting real hard working Americans. Also, it let’s us know who and where they are…
Joanne commented:
I guess they believe it is just fine to kill conservatives and the world would be better without Christians to boot. The idiots actually think a Christian would praise Hitler…..sorry you stupid socialists, Hitler was praised by his idiot socialist followers just like your idiot selves. This is what happens when a nation takes out the Lord’s Prayer from schools and indoctrinates the children into nothingness.

It was done better by Hitchcock with Jimmy Stewart in “The Rope.”
That is to say, Hitchcock evicerated the narcissist self-righteous, elitist Lefties.
Peter Warner commented:
The plot line line described:
‘This young man, a patriotic Desert Storm vet, first startles the group when he insists on saying grace before the vegan meal and then goes on to praise Hitler, …’
That is entirely self-contradictory, until you realize it is personal projection. Many of the liberal-Left are weak-minded, they innerly admire Hitler and other tyrants for the power they held. This is a display of inner phantasies, and it is truly disgusting.
As Tommy McDonnell wrote above at 18, many good people put their life on the line fighting the Third Reich, many of them of devout faith, and many of them paid the ultimate price in that effort. This ‘art’ is urinating on their memory.
Those involved in this production would do well to repent.
Best regards, Peter Warner.

“The Last Supper” in turn was a ripoff of “Arsenic And Old Lace.”
Can you imagine a play about a pair of conservatives who whack a parade of moonbats? Me neither.

On the bright side, in the film version, the evil ‘Rethuglican’ beats them all at their own game. Their faces, when they realise they are the ones about to die, is priceless.

Just Leftist wish fulfillment.
Iconoclast commented:
Like the rest of the left wing commentary, premised in delusion. Combat vet overwhelmed by pencil-necked vegans? Polar bear brought down by seals? Even their fantasies fail as fantasy. I expect we will soon see a new aphorism in our lexicon: “worthless as a liberal.”
Rose commented:
This is how they amuse themselves – they are Death, of Death, and Death is all that fills their empty hearts and minds. Same as ever Marxists ever were or ever will be.
They are putrid refuse.

But what about Sarah Palin, and her eeeeevil crosshairs map? What about the Tea Party? What about talk radio? What about the climate of violence? Pay no attention to those liberals behind the curtain, just shut up and be civil!
(Because we all know how much Desert Storm vets lurve Hitler—yah, right! /Sarc.)
JDubya commented:
This is just another regurgitation of a 90′s indy film of the same fame.
The movie had that hideously-chesire-mawed Cameron Diaz and other less-known, soon to be Burger King commercial fill-ins. Of course, it was stupid as well.
Nice to see a bunch of low budget grad students in theater cannot come up with an original idea of their own.
Here they come Hollywood and Broadway!

What? Another liberal piece of navel gazying crap in an attempt to call it art? Yawn… sigh… come on children, keep trying, maybe someday you’ll get it…. So boring and typical…. oh well. Pathetic.
