House Republicans May Defund Corrupt UN Human Rights Council

On November 10, 2010, the Lebanese members of the UN Human Rights Council defended terrorist attacks against Israel.
The whole meeting broke out in applause, Just as appalling was that the Obama Administration attendees at the meeting did nothing.

Now, House Republicans want to defund the corrupt UN Human Rights Council.
The Hill reported:

A key House Republican is quickly pressing forward with her goals to scale back U.S. funding for the United Nations.

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told The Hill that oversight would be a key function of the panel, particularly funding to the U.N. Human Rights Council (HRC) that is “a waste of taxpayer dollars.”

“I’d like to make sure that we once and for all kill all U.S. funding for that beast,” she said last month. “Because I don’t think that it advances U.S. interests, I don’t think that that’s a pro-democracy group, it’s a rogues’ gallery, pariah states, they belong there because they don’t want to be sanctioned.”

Supporters of continued U.S. support of and participation on the HRC say that it’s essential that Washington have leverage on the panel, renowned for including countries that have their own records of human-rights violations.

On Tuesday, Ros-Lehtinen will host a panel of U.N. critics and advocates that was originally scheduled for the week that the House suspended most activity in the wake of the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

GOP, Don’t stop with the Human Rights Council, Defund the whole damn U N and make them pay for their own buildings, security etc. This would be a large chunk of the deficit eliminated as well as eliminating their platform on our soil to degrade the United States.
Time for the rest of the world to step up and pay their own way.

Carol No.8 is right, MAY is the operative word. Even if defunding by the US of the HRC comes to pass (eyes turned skyward) it would be meaningless. It would still exist in it’s present form. Money is fungible, the cash provided by the US will simply be diverted from other programs to make up any shortfall.

The UN Human Rights Council has devolved into a bad joke. It has no relation whatsoever to its original charter. There’s no necessity for what they think and do. In fact, the whole of the United Nations is an anti-American, anti-capitalism, pro-multicultural dinosaur. I say we back out of the whole organization and tell them to move the HQ somewhere else. Follow up with defunding NPR, FCC, National Endowment for the Arts…and any money that finds its way into the coffers of any unions of federal workers. It’s all a huge waste of honest, hard-working US taxpayers’ money.

The U.N. is nothing more than a platform from which Communists can project their foreign policy and manage their active measures campaigns in furtherance of economic and psychological warfare, all of which are directed against the United States and its allies. They add insult to injury by having us pay for it. Congress should refuse to appropriate any funds that go to support the U.N. Maybe they will just go to Belgium and free up some parking spaces in Manhattan.

I’ve got a better idea. Defund the entire UN, and then kick their asses out of here. Give them two weeks to pack up and go, then round the lot of them up and send them home, at the expense of their sponsor nations. If those nations won’t pay, throw then in a dungeon and feed them bread and water until they do.

Okay, I guess that’s a little extreme. Give them two months.

Defunding the Bernadine Dohrn committee that was funded by George Soros isn’t impressing me.

Not having Bernadin Dohrn behind bars for that committee, and her affiliation with the Free Gaza Flotillas, is also not amusing me, either!

The delegation from Lebanon knows all about occupation. They used to be a progressive nation that enjoyed a diversity of people and religions until radical Islam laid waste to the nation. So goes Iran and so will go Syria and Turkey. Once free people are silenced and covered in Islamic garb while their culture and education is systematically replaced with sharia tyranny.

Still, attacks here in the west are called isolated incidents and I’m labeled phobic to fuss about it. I don’t have the necessary education to understand that being thrust back into the dark ages is truly progressive. Blame my limited capacities if I can’t see that the UN only has my best interest in mind. Call me an extremist.
