Unbelievable. Obama’s been in office for only 2 years and already they’re playing Red Chinese commie songs at State Dinners in the White House.
How’s that for hope and change?
The US was humiliated in eyes of Chinese by a song used to inspire anti-Americanism.
The Epoch Times reported:
Lang Lang the pianist says he chose it. Chairman Hu Jintao recognized it as soon as he heard it. Patriotic Chinese Internet users were delighted as soon as they saw the videos online. Early morning TV viewers in China knew it would be played an hour or two beforehand. At the White House State dinner on Jan. 19, about six minutes into his set, Lang Lang began tapping out a famous anti-American propaganda melody from the Korean War: the theme song to the movie “Battle on Shangganling Mountain.”
.
The film depicts a group of “People’s Volunteer Army” soldiers who are first hemmed in at Shanganling (or Triangle Hill) and then, when reinforcements arrive, take up their rifles and counterattack the U.S. military “jackals.”
.
The movie and the tune are widely known among Chinese, and the song has been a leading piece of anti-American propaganda by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for decades. CCP propaganda has always referred to the Korean War as the “movement to resist America and help [North] Korea.” The message of the propaganda is that the United States is an enemy—in fighting in the Korean War the United States’ real goal was said to be to invade and conquer China. The victory at Triangle Hill was promoted as a victory over imperialists. The song Lang Lang played describes how beautiful China is and then near the end has this verse, “When friends are here, there is fine wine /But if the jackal comes /What greets it is the hunting rifle.” The “jackal” in the song is the United States.
The name of the song is “My Motherland,” originally titled “Big River.” In an interview broadcast on Phoenix TV, the first thing Lang Lang is quoted as saying is that he chose the piece…
…His choice was known in advance to CCP officials is very likely.
Here is the pro-commie song from the movie “Battle Triangle Hill.”
This song was played for Obama and Hu Jintao at the White House State Dinner:
Unbelievable.
I’m sure the Korean War veterans will love this.

Now that George bush is gone we are so much more respected around the world.
On a more serious note, when the Chinese premier sees fit to openly humiliate the president of the United States while a guest in that same country, at a state dinner no less, then the true state of relations with the PRC is much worse than any of us suspected. Make no mistake about it, this was done for China’s domestic consumption.

Stuart commented:
No one should delude themselves. This was a planned insult. If you think that at some level the communist party of China didn’t plan this, or that this was some sort of spontaneous outburst on the part of the pianist, than you are foolish. Nothing at this level of engagement is spontaneous, its all scripted. Were this music a spontaneous choice by the pianist he would face hard times on his return to China. I will wager he is instead treated like a hero. Remember China is a country where “face” is of the utmost importance, and the United States just lost face big time.

The United States is a socialist country now, and many Americans actually didn’t want to concentrate on getting rid of Obama based on his ineligibility to hold Office according to the Constitution, but instead concentrate on the issues. Well, how is that working out for anyone. You can’t put a Marxist/Muslim leader at the helm and not expect the guy to put Amerians under socialist rule and Islamification.
Donald Trump made an interesting point about China needing America’s purchasing power to keep own their economy strong and growing. Although the U.S. owes China a lot of money, China has been getting rich off the backs of American workers, industry, and purchasing power. China needs the purchasing power of Americans to keep their industries and workers going strong, and as long as China devalues their own dollar and Americans keep buying their merchandise, they are going to continue to grow their military and economy. Maybe it is time to stop purchasing Chinese wares and bring those jobs back to America. Let’s face it, if China doesn’t have a large military, the U.S. could tell them to take their loans and shove it, but now with China’s large and growing military, the U.S. will have to put up a fight if they default on the loans.

“My Motherland” was called as “A Big River” (Chinese: 一条大河) by the author initially; it represented the hundreds of rivers that flowed by the homes of the Chinese people. The title was changed when it was published with movie.
Although the song was written for the movie about Korean War in 1950s, there is no mention of the war at all. It describes a soldier (or anyone who is away from home) thinking about his home and his family. Thus, this song is extremely popular even when the movie itself is almost forgotten.

Chisum commented:
TBogg,
Dipping into the kool-aide again I see.
Hmmm, who to believe, TBogg the Obamite or Yang Jingduan, former Chinese military doctor?
Tough call.
“My Motherland” having been played at the White House will be seen as a propaganda triumph in China.
“In the eyes of all Chinese, this will not be seen as anything other than a big insult to the U.S.,” says Yang Jingduan, a Chinese psychiatrist now living in Philadelphia who had in China been a doctor in the Chinese military. “It’s like insulting you in your face and you don’t know it, it’s humiliating.”
Yang sees Lang Lang choosing this tune as an expression of the deeply anti-American propaganda that is constant in China.
“This deeply anti-American chauvinism has been fanned by the CCP for years; Lang Lang is expressing the feelings of this generation of angry young people,” Yang said.
A well-known example of such feelings was seen on Sept. 11, 2001, when Chinese chat rooms were filled with young people celebrating this act of terror as an American defeat.
Excited at this coup, patriotic Chinese have been circulating the clip for the last several days. One netizen wrote “the right place, right time, right song!”
Iconoclast commented:

The Spy Who Quit
[And you're not concerned about the propaganda used when they do go wrong?
... I'm genuinely worried, hurt and saddened after loss of civilian life, be it one or more. But what is the alternative? I'm not looking at it politically. I'm looking at it as a human being.
One of the alternatives is to more aggressively
negotiate with the Taliban. That's what Karzai has --
My view is there must not be a deal with the Taliban.
Ever?
Ever. There must be a process. And according to that process, based on that process, Taliban should become part of the society and play according to the script of democracy. They should be demobilized, disarmed, reintegrated the way Northern Alliance was. ... And also they should denounce violence. And that process will bring a lasting stability. Minus that, if there is a deal, deals never bring stability. They create fragile peace. ...
What I have been saying so far -- and I have been misinterpreted -- that if there is a deal, we will resist against the deal, "we" meaning all the forces who fought the Taliban. ...
And if our enemy after 10 years is brought back to do a deal, what did we fight for all these years? We were not tissue paper. [You can also watch Saleh's keynote remarks at the 2010 Jamestown Foundation Terrorism Conference, in which he talks more about these views.]
Can you recount the key conversation that you had with
President Karzai over this idea of negotiating with the Taliban?
President Karzai does not look at his Cabinet as weighty enough to
incorporate their views. It’s one-way conversation. Either you have
to agree with him or you are considered rude.
You have expressed to him in private your opposition to his views?
Yes. Not a position for the sake of being impolite or rude, just
for the sake of bringing into his attention potential dangers. …
I stand for pluralistic society. And that pluralistic society can have Taliban as a player. Why not? But I don’t want the Taliban to dominate us, the country, because the leadership in Kabul has lost confidence.
You had this conversation with Karzai over negotiations?
Yes.
Can you recount it for me?
President Karzai said, “Yes, I also want defeat of the Taliban.” But nine years, why [are they] undefeated? Why I am destroying parts of my country because some expendable Taliban are hiding there? …
He said: “I gave a chance to everybody to contribute to defeat of the Taliban, and I don’t see the result. It is over. I want to make peace.”
And you said?
I said, “We all want to make peace, but we do not want to Talibanize Afghanistan.”
And he said?
It’s a very difficult question. Why should a president treat his subordinate as a counterpart in negotiations? He would be presidential. He says: “I have decided I cannot go business as usual. Yes, take the risk. I want peace with Taliban.”
And he is no longer badmouthing the Taliban. He calls them “brothers.”
And you objected to this to his face?
Yes.
And you told him what?
I told him the Taliban have no message, no vision except intimidation, spreading fear, bringing exclusion in the Afghan society, stopping development and destroying pluralism. …
When you made those objections to President Karzai, he responded?
It became suffocating for me, because I got outnumbered; I got
isolated; I lost my political weight, and it led to my resignation. …
Have negotiations started with the Taliban?
I don’t know. I really don’t know.
Were you ever involved in any negotiations or
preparations for negotiations with the Taliban?
No.]
