It figures.
The far left representative who wants to restrict threatening language has a photo of himself wearing boxing gloves on his website.
It’s the first picture you see.

Commenter Arch found this:

In Politico, Brady, an uneducated union thug, will “introduce a bill that would make it a crime for anyone to use language or symbols that could be seen as threatening or violent against a federal official, including a member of Congress.”

On his website, the first image we see is Brady man wearing a boxing glove. What, exactly, do boxing gloves symbolize? It’s just hilarious – Brady as Rocky!

  1. How is he going to define threatening? Just disagreeing with your Rep. is that a threat in his mind. So I guess pitchforks and torches and tar and feathers would be okay.

  2. “Just disagreeing with your Rep. is that a threat in his mind.”

Bingo. Just as I said in another thread. This is just the begining and anyone who stands against ridiculous legislation like this will be branded a hate monger.

    It’s already started.

  3. Do not give in! Stand up! Let’s Roll!

They want us to roll over and obey them! It will be a cold day in HELL!

  4. Why does he restrict it to just federal officials? I’m sure he will be addressing the violent language and imagery in video games (which this suspect reportedly spent a lot of time playing), Hollywood movies, television and music … right? (crickets) Oh I forgot it’s only tea partiers that have the ability to motivate, initiate violence.

  5. Another thing to keep in mind about this – “Federal official” means virtually anyone who works for the Federal government.

We already have specific laws in place that make it a crime to threaten or harass. People can and have been prosecuted under those laws. To make it a further crime to use language that “may be perceived” as threatening is superflous.

Let’s hope this is just grandstanding.

  6. Exactly Ginger! What does he think this is going to do? Protect the Royalty in this nation?

If things get a little heated at a Town Hall meeting, what are they going to do? Arrest everyone? Will they be scouring the web arresting people who hate them? They will be awfully busy at DU and the Huff and Kos..

You would think this would at least make them do the right thing, be an honest Joe, treat people the way they want to be treated. Its our govt that is mostly the thugs and bullies.

  7. http://michellemalkin.com/2011/01/10/the-progressive-climate-of-hate-an-illustrated-primer-2000-2010/

The most comprehensive list yet, detailing violence from left against right.

    You’ll be amazed.

  8. WTF is the Republican Party leadership on this scorched earth blame campaign the Liberals are waging? Are they retreating into their standard take the high road crap or will they play some freaking OFFENSE for a change and push back on this despicable crap the left is spewing? This is beyond comprehension.

  9. So will rap songs be included in the “hate speech”? Why doesn’t anyone link the violence and guns that rap songs worship to crimes by 22 year olds, after all thats who listens to it? Are they condeming rappers as well? Oh thas right, Jay Z and Kanye be on the White House favorite guest list.

  10. Leftists and Muslims will, of course, be exempt.

Holder and Napolitano showed us 2 years back who the enemies were.

  11. “Throughout his legislative career, Congressman Brady has consistently earned an “A” or 100 percent rating from the AFL-CIO, NAACP, The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, the Human Rights Campaign and every other national human rights organization that scores Congress.”

In other words he’s a committed communist.

  12. Here is another one that the reading of the Constitution at the opening session of Congress seems to have been a waste of time and energy. I doubt that sending him a copy of the Bill of Rights will any good either. The political agenda of the left supersedes the Constitution, that they swore to support and defend. When you cannot trust a man’s word or his oath of office, he is no better then garbage.

  13. “In Politico, Brady, an uneducated union thug, will “introduce a bill that would make it a crime for anyone to use language or symbols that could be seen as threatening or violent …”"

So next time President Obama says “if they bring a knife, we bring a gun” he can be prosecuted?

These people listen all day to CBS or NBC and are totally unaware that the violent speech is largely coming from the LEFT.

How about Kanjorski’s (D-PA) call in November to assassinate Governor Scott of Florida? Katie Couric would rather die than criticize or mention specifically this kind of crap, which has been going on since George W Bush was elected.

  14. obama has been spouting hate speech since the world first heard of him 3 years ago. No suprise, considering his radical background and mentors, but the Democrats are very hypocritical about this whole issue.

  15. Perhaps Brady is wearing boxing gloves to prohibit from continually biting his fingernails….

…in nervious anticipation of the NEXT “beating” (dare I use that pugelistic term?) that the Libtards are going to get at the polls?

Must strike utter terror into the hearts of Statist, prol-controlling power-grabbers everywhere.

  16. Jayne on the left coast #1

‘How is he going to define threatening?’

He can start here with the picture of a gun pointed at Sarah Palin, or the picture showing her getting punched, or..

  17. This is the insidious growth of the power of government, which the Founders studied and knew well.
In the beginnings of our nation any citizen could walk right into the Executive mansion.
We have now arrived at the point where any further increase of the special protections afforded the members of the Federal .gov will actually make them a specially protected class as a whole.
As if the highest of them haven’t already exempted themselves from the laws they pass for the rest of us, and as if they don’t pay themselves very well (with our monies, and sometimes from demonstrable corruption) for their labors.

  18. Well not wanting to upset the speak police I can only say, I must now leave, the wife wants to take a dip in the hot tub, and I must take the dog out for a nature call.
