How horrible.
The regime is shooting people in the streets now.

The regime of President Hosni Mubarak cut off Internet and SMS service throughout the country today.

And, as usual… Barack Obama was late to the dance.

Barack Obama’s response to the situation today was pathetically weak.
The CS Monitor reported:

President Obama spoke up for the first time publicly Thursday on the anti-government protests in Egypt, warning that freedom of expression is essential and that violence is not the answer, either for the Egyptian government or the protesters.

Obama prefaced his remarks by noting Egypt’s role as a US ally, and its peace with Israel, but then used the YouTube forum to offer some encouragement to the youth-driven uprising that began this week against Mubarak’s nearly 30 years of rule. He stressed the importance of free speech, including access to social networking tools.

“That, I think, is no less true in the Arab world than it is here in the United States,”
Obama said. By speaking up, the president added weight to the comments of other administration officials, including Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose statements have grown increasingly sympathetic to the protesters with each day.

This far left liberal is definitely no Reagan.

  1. Tomorrow will be worse. Drudge has the latest stories. Massive, nationwide protests, consisting of Christians, Bedoins, and Muslims, all against the government, will take place.

Tomorrow the regime will show the world whether it is human, or inhuman, one way or the other.

  2. He’s for any uprisings in the middle east that could potentially double or triple the price of crude oil. Liberals are a bunch of pathetic losers.

  3. When Barack’s getting the “3 a.m. call,” he’s taking a pass. Gotta be well rested for 18 holes of golf, four times a week.

  4. Obama, being a leader and man of action, is waiting to see which side comes out on top and will then claim he was right there backing them all the way.

  9. Professor O’Barry wants a kill switch for the Internet in the US as well. Dictators do think alike.

  10. When they cut of telephone service, you know it’s getting serious.

  11. Will non-Mohammedans come out of this with more freedom than they enjoy now? Doubtful.

  12. So many naive dupes, both on the left and the right, support this populist uprising throughout the middle east. They think these protesters actually want real freedom and justice from their tyranical rulers. No, what they really want is an islamofascist regime. Just like with what Iran has now.

The leftist media is lying to you. Most of the world’s muslims are not “moderate”. They’re evil and backwards fundamenatlists who want people who leave islam executed and non-muslim “infidels” systematically oppressed and persecuted in accordance with sharia law. Which is why islamist groups actually have widespread support on the “arab street” and thoroughout the “muslim world”.

Their current leaders, while tyrants, are RELATIVELY moderate tyrants who rule over an often deranged, islamist citizernary.

There’s only 2 real options in most arab muslim countries: islamonazis and leftist communist fascists. Pick your poison.

If these protests are successful and the arab regimes overthrown, expect these countries to basically be governed by an al qaeda mindset.

  13. This is Iran toppling all the weak western puppet dictatorships of the middle east . Obama and Hillary are both letting the 3 am phone call ring and ring and ring…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yr7odFUARg

  14. Hmmmm……anybody else remember the tepid rebuke Hussein Dolt gave the Mullahs when their militas were killing people in the streets?

There’s an election scheduled for later on this year in Egypt. Most times under the Mubarak regime, opposing parties are outlawed and left on the ballot (altho’ sometimes the candidates will run as ‘independents’). Even if the Mubarak regime is able to ride this out, I suspect there will be increasing reigonal and international pressure (not just from us) to allow the previously outlawed parties- including the Muslim Brothernood- onto the ballot between now and then.

While a dictator in every sense of the word, keep in mind how Mubarak came to power. His predecessor- Sadat- was slain by Egyptian Army officers loyal to an Islamic group during a parade. Sadat also signed a peace treaty with the Israelis, which led to his demise at the hands of his own military….

  15. Notice how muslims don’t seem to like their dictators in Iran or Egypt.

I’m glad the brave man went back to rescue the person shot in the street – I hope he survived.

Who can forget one of the conspirators implicated in Sadat’s assasination :
    Ayman AlZawahiri….yeah that one !!
Now that ElBeradai guy from IAEA wants to kick out Mubarek …wonder where his loyalties were when he was heading that agency ??

  17. Of course Der Fuhrer is moving to shut down the Internet right here in the U.S.

  18. This is the end of Mubarak. Mohammed El Baradei has landed in Egypt and is already talking like Al Haig ” I am in charge here ” . Israel will now have to deal with a new Egypt ruled by an anti semitic islamo fascist with the highest skills in nuclear science. …and the world takes a giant step towards the apocalypse …. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TwgBTclc7Y&feature=related

Spot-on truth. I couldn’t have put it better myself.

Given time, any majority-Islamist nation will overthrow any tyranny, and replace it with their own.

I wonder do the Christians who are protesting even realize this? They think they have it bad now (and they DO!) Just wait until the next government is a mirror-clone of Al-Qaida.

  21. When the people figure out how bad the frauds and banksters have bent America over, look for stuff like this to happen close to home.

Why do they want your guns so badly? You have but to look at this situation.

Did the first kenyan state he wanted 7 dollars a gallon gas? Looks like he will get it…

  22. @ Taqiyyotomist

Now its gets downright spooky …remember this ?
It was an anti-Mubarek drama, orchestrated by Hussain’s political daddy

    Hmmmmm

  23. 1. American protests like the Tea Party will be infiltrated by so-called anarchists who are merely thugs, and fire bombs, full blown riots, etc. will be in large evidence.
    2. Barry calls it a major public safety issue caused by right wing extremists (read: Tea Party)
    3. Agents Provocateur will shoot a few folks and instigate more fire bombings
    4. certain areas will be brought under military control

What a bright and happy future my granddaughters will live in.

  24. Amazing. No, MrGoodWench, I hadn’t seen that before.

Seems like Obama would welcome a “regime change” in Egypt, if his devotion to his mentor’s ideology is real — which I have absolutely no reason to believe it’s not.

Islamic dictatorial theocracy, comin’ right up!

Again, I wonder, do the Christians who are protesting realize what kind of “Change™®” they’re going to get, if they oust Mubarak?

  25. #24

Introduce them to Christ and their future will be bright indeed.

    Isa. 41:10 AV1611

“10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Come what may, and probably will, those who are in Christ alone have hope.

  26. Chuck, I can offer no greater hope — but only because there is no greater hope than that offered by God through his Son. This world will pass. Hope to see you and your g’daughters in the next.

  27. Now lets play connecty-dotty :

    1. Elberadai = made Iran nuclear by lying to the world, wants Mubarek’s job

    2. Ayers+ Dohrn+Evans = started riots in Egypt to provoke Mubarek ,
    and when he reacted
Hussain’s peeps didn’t like it one bit

    3. Muslim brotherhood = hates Mubarek , wants him gone to form a sharia state

    4. Hillary = lifts ban and gives visas to muslim brotherhood …

Mubarek = wants to live in peace with Israel

Remember why Anwar Sadat was killed ? He wanted to live in peace with Israel too.
    Only unanswered question :
How will al Zawahiri contribute , since he has done this before

  28. Barack Obama’s response to the situation today was pathetically weak.
    The CS Monitor reported:

That depends on whose side he is on. This is another WTF moment.

  29. Sad thing is, considering the alternatives, Mubarak is still an angel.
