Chris Liu, the pilot who angered Big Sis last week by revealing potential loopholes in airport security, went public on Monday. The 50 year-old pilot told CNN that TSA sent an anti-terrorism task force to his home after he posted his video on YouTube.
McClatchy reported:
The pilot who posted a cell phone video on YouTube revealing potential loopholes in airport security identified himself Monday and said he is “pretty shocked” by the national uproar he has caused.
Chris Liu, a 50-year-old Colfax resident and 27-year veteran pilot, said in an interview with a Sacramento television station that he never imagined his “little video” of what he felt were lax procedures at San Francisco International Airport would get much attention.
The video, posted Nov. 30, has since been pulled from YouTube, and Liu has been stripped of his role in a federal anti-terrorism program that allowed him to carry a handgun while flying. His story has been covered by media across the country β including local outlets, CNN and Fox News.
“I never even thought about being an activist,” Liu told News 10 Monday night, “but it’s kind of turning into that direction.”
A website Liu set up to chronicle his story indicates a man on a mission.
“The Patriot Pilot: An American Hero,” describes what Liu views as a contrast between security measures faced by travelers and airline employees and those faced by ground crews. He also expresses his frustration with the Transportation Security Administration’s response to his security complaint.

Yup. So they take his gun away which he was carrying to protect us.
As dumb as cows may be, they can find their stalls in the barn. I can’t say that much for the people running this administration. Smartest people in the room? They’re not even the smartest creatures in the barnyard.

A hero. He deserves an award for his sacrafice. How about if we nominate him as head of security at U.S. airports?

How much more of this tyranny and oppression are we going to put up with? Barry and his goons are doing WTF they want and no one is doing anything about it.

Our government has become the NKVD or the STASI . Sending out the enforcers to silence the voices of dissenters. I have often used a tag line which says, THE FIRST IMPULSE OF EVERY UTOPIAN ,SOCIALIST,COMMUNIST ,STATIST IS TO MAKE THE PEOPLE OBEY THE GOVERNMENT.
I believe that line becomes more salient every day.

Ruth, you are so very correct. Replace that jackass Napolitano with this guy, who would do ten times the work and 100 times a better job. National security is no place for politics and cheap, meaningless slogans.

If they can deputize this man and then take away his firearm, then it seems to me he has every right to sue DHS under the Whistleblower Act for retaliation.

I would like to hear from one of our representatives or Senators on this issue. Can someone get this to Sarah for comment. The whole lot of them need firing badly.

Now that he’s gone public…….
The FAA will find ‘something wrong’ with his pilot’s license.
The IRS will – out of nowhere, of course – want to see his tax records for the past seven years.
The town/county he lives in will – again, out of nowhere – notice a few discrepancies on his property or home via permits and building codes.
The list goes on.
So does my shopping for ‘supplies’.
TSA will offer him the opportunity to experience a bit of ‘extra security checks’ each and every time he flies.

Joel, if that is true and you are afraid to voice your opinion, then the new nazis have won.
That being said I thought the left loved whistle blowers?
The logic behind the anti terror task force showing up at his door is simple, he gave information to the Muslim terrorists on our vulnerable points. The problem is our government does that every day, more so now with Muslim extremist appeasers in control of America.
On the bright side of it all, the real homeland security at airports are dogs, on airplanes are the people. After all wasn’t it the passengers that stopped most if not all the Muslim terrorist attempts so far on airplanes? Flight 93 showed us what needed to be done. The shoe bomber was brought down by passengers. We know it’s the passengers on the planes and Dogs at the airports that have stopped more attacks, time to get the government and political correctness out of the way and let the big dogs handle Muslim extremists. Yes I believe in profiling and it is time to get to it.

If Assange had released this…
If the NYT had released this…
And if there were a (R) in the White House….
They would have been hailed as heroes, lauded by top Dems, and feted by Hollywood.
Whisleblowers are sometimes good, for the Left. It all depends on who is in the White House, and who does the whistleblowing. Just like with leaks of classified info. Assange is damn near Man of the Year, and Scooter Libby goes to jail….and for nothing at all, literally, except as a “got one” for Fitz, Wilson, and Supersecret Agent Plame.
So much surreal hypocrisy it would even make Franz Kafka’s head spin.

Barry could start killing Americans and half the authorities in the country would look the other way and half would talk about how beautiful he wielded the knife or sword in his case.
Isn’t the pilot protected by the whistleblower law? Anyone home in Congress? I mean mentally home.
They’re going to Joe the plumber him! We will know everything about this pilot and still won’t know where Soetoro the stealth jihadist was born. I know where he was born, Kenya!

Zerobama IS killing Americans. The death toll from this security theatre, in terms of additional highway deaths caused by repelling people from flying, is higher than the death toll from terrorism. There is evidence to believe the death rate from backscatter X-Ray machines is greater than the death toll from terrorists.

The success of Security Theater is predicated on the univocal framing of systems of national defense: alternate views must be silenced, particularly from credible voices (airline pilots, security experts, former intelligence officials, etc.).
All kidding aside, expect further expansion of executive branch security directives specifying that only DHS officials and designated, authorized personnel may comment regarding the practice of homeland security. Criticisms without permission will invoke prosecution and significant sentences. When the left not only neglected, but fully embraced the extension of Bush’s State of Exception (from the surveillance of foreign communications to the inward shift into the Obama Panopticon), they ensured the accelerated expansion would coincide as the executive branch becomes increasingly threatened by political opponents to its progresso-Fascist power grab.

This is another example of Janet Napolitano acting like the reincarnation of Ernst Rohm , Nazi commander of the German SA. Homeland Security has proven to be a very dangerous organization that primarily functions as a secretive enforcer of fascism in America. They roll around the country in their black bullet proof escalades with tinted windows armed like storm troopers . Their missions are to intimidate local officials, government workers, businesses and private citizens who violate the socialist agenda. They do not function as a security force against foreign terror organizations.
arnonerik commented:
This heroic pilot pointed out holes in the security procedures. The problem is this is all for show. It’s just theater to make us think we are safer while the real purposes are to desensitize us to the loss of our rights as citizens so that we will obey our “protectors” without resistance or questions.
Ask yourself this question. How many terrorists have been caught by the TSA?
This is just the beginning, folks. It’s going to get worse because the silent majority is going along with just a whimper.

I worked as an Airport Operations Officer at Palm Springs Airport for 3 months (prior to 9/11) and the screeners flunked finding weapons over 66% of the time. We had federal background checks and had full run of the facility — but it was our job. In my opinion, pilots, flight crews and airport operations officers should have that freedom, but ground crews should be limited and should be searched.

Ruth (#3) …you beat me to it. My thoughts EXACTLY. How typical of this administration… They set up a national program to report things that could be a threat to national security, and when someone on THEIR SIDE actually reports something, they attack him. That ought to encourage more people to speak up ….NOT!
PJ commented:
Yes, McCloud, I did watch it. And Cuomo came out swinging and attacking. I’m sure Liu did not realize millions would watch his video–I wouldn’t think so either unless I was some geek kid.
