TIME Magazine Joins Junk Scientists: Global Warming Caused Northeast Blizzard

TIME is the latest far left media outlet to insist that the record-setting blizzard in the northeast is a sign of global warming climate change.
It’s become as much a winter tradition as eggnog at Christmas and champagne on New Year’s Eve — the first major snowstorm of the year bringing out the climate-change skeptics. And the bona fide blizzard that has frozen much of the Northeast just a few days after winter officially began definitely qualifies as major. But while piles of snow blocking your driveway hardly conjure images of a dangerously warming world, it doesn’t mean that climate change is a myth. The World Meteorological Organization recently reported that 2010 is almost certainly going to be one of the three warmest years on record, while 2001 to 2010 is already the hottest decade in recorded history. Indeed, according to some scientists, all of these events may actually be connected.
One theory is that a warmer Arctic may actually lead to colder and snowier winters in the northern mid-latitudes. Even as countries like Britain — suffering through the coldest December on record — deal with low temperatures and unusual snow, the Arctic has kept on warming, with Greenland and Arctic Canada experiencing the hottest year on record…
…As the authors of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s recent “Arctic Report Card” put it, “There is evidence that the effect of higher air temperatures in the lower Arctic atmosphere in fall is contributing to changes in the atmospheric circulation in both the Arctic and northern mid-latitudes. Winter 2009-2010 showed a new connectivity between mid-latitude extreme cold and snowy weather events and changes in the wind patterns of the Arctic; the so-called Warm Arctic–Cold Continents pattern.
And, they wonder why their magazine can’t sell?
Who wants to read that nonsense when they have 20 inches of snow on the ground?
The founder of the Weather Channel called global warming “the greatest scam in history” and accused the global media of colluding with ‘environmental extremists’ to alarm the public.

Did anyone ever notice they never mention the Antarctic which has several times the ice mass as the Arctic. And while the ice mass has decreased in the Arctic, it has increased in the Antarctic resulting in a net ice mass gain world-wide. Selective reporting…as usual.

ergo, the argument that “climate change” alarmists always predicted this would happen is a LIE.
ALSO:
the hottest year on record – according to the alarmists – was 2005. 2006-2010 were NOT AS WARM.
since “man-made” greenhouse gases have gone up steadily since then, this alone disproves the connection.
AND ANOTHER THING:
BY THEIR OWN MODELS, not a single regime suggested by the alarmists would significantly change the amount of man-made CO2 put into the atmosphere.
therefore, the only thing they would accomplish is making the world – especially the first world – less prosperous, and less able to deal with NATURAL climate change.

Solutions?
1. Stop all energy development based on coal, nuclear energy and petrochemicals, which arguably is well under way. What happens then? Do we pave the planet with solar panels? Windmills?
2. We must pay penance. Redistribute 20% of our GNP to “poorer” countries, which will accomplish what? Will China and India, the two biggest polluters on the planet, EVER agree to participate in this? No.
3. And all these enormous sums of money will come from where, exactly? The Treasury? Congress? Al Gore? The “Rich”? No, it’s always somebody else’s money. Yours. We’re expected to gut what little life we have in our economy to give it to places like Rwanda because we’ve been bad? Because they can spend our wealth more wisely than we can? How does a global economic depression help the world economy, exactly?
And when this is all done, and Henny Penny wakes up, what does she see? Has the evil poison Carbon Dioxide been reduced at all? No. Let’s call it what it is: reparations to the third world. Destroy the world’s economy based on dubious, manipulated scientific claims of “manmade climate damage”, to remake the world with no provable results in mind. That’s not merely stupid. It’s insanity.

I’m not sure the “Climate Change is causing the deep cold spells and massive snow storms so we must artificially raise the cost of energy” is a good slogan. But the globalWarmaCons should be out protesting this massive use of energy to remove this snow. Left in place it would reflect solar energy back into space providing a reprieve to the doomed planet. Piled over buildings and homes, it would provide insulation reducing energy used for heating.

The media and the people it purports to educate have confused consensus with confirmation, and the leftists who have coopted GW as a horse they can ride to achieve their destruction of capitalism and restructuring of the West in socialistic terms are all too glad to take advantage of this confusion between consensus and confirmation.
Science follows where the evidence leads, and at times, in any scientific endeavor, that direction may seem unilateral. However, unless and until an irrefutable body of evidence so great that it would unreasonable not to accept it emerges, any consensus is ripe for refutation.

The sun spot prognosticators predict a mini Ice Age. Greenland was warm enough to have self-supporting farming villages a thousand years ago (remember, when the Vikings terrorized Europe with those monster SUVs?). Somehow, I have some reservations about the veracity of these global warming claims. In fact, I ‘trust’ the AGW crowd so much, I’m going to piss off PETA also & invest in some nice warm furs.

Let me add to Iconoclast (if I may be so bold) and run the risk of eternal damnation from this, my favorite blog. Climate change can cause more severe winters and storms such as we have seen. A melting ice cap in the north, as we have seen, can release fresh water into the salt water eco system and cause a whole variety of changes. Here’s where the alarmists share a shred of truth with reality which gives them, at least in their mind, some credibility. But, as far as man causing these changes, that’s where they let their socialist agenda take over reality. Remember the global warming folks talking about the warming spell that took place in Europe which led to many explorations across the oceans by the spanish, the Dutch and the Vikings? Do you remember them talking about grapes being grown in England creating wines that rivaled those in France during this same period? If you do, then you were dreaming because they conveniently neglected to mention any of these historical facts. Just as they negelect to mention (in any global warming piece I’ve read) the impact sun spots and the Maunder Minimum have had on temeprature changes here on earth.
Yes, climate change can cause a change in the earth’s climate. But, sorry Al, the earth doesn’t have a fever. And it certainly wasn’t created by CO2 the minute particle that all living green things need to survive and create oxygen. The only theing that will happen if we stop producing CO2 is that you and I will die from a lack of oxygen an inconvenient byproduct of my soon to be purchased SUV. You can thank me later for buying my SUV and saving the planet for you!

So When you hear of a Record Winter in south America this year its due to Increased CO2. When we have record winter in the north..thats due to Global warming..
Arcitc Ice is refreezing, Antarcit Ice is 10% above normal levels this past winter. But if you want the funding you only have to say..NO WE DIDN”T WARM THIS YEAR>.but We didn’t warm because of Global Warming.

In the 70s we were on our way to an ice age. In the 80s Global warming, In the 90s it was Global warming causes Global Cooling. In the 2000 it became Climate Change because we have no clue what the weather is doing..BUT THE DEBATE is over…lol…
