Talk show queen and Obama supporter Oprah Winfrey wouldn’t answer Barbara Walters’ question about Sarah Palin, “Is Sarah Palin qualified for president?”
Walters correctly told her that by not answering she was answering.
Obviously, Sarah Palin does not have the years of experience teaching Alinsky tactics to ACORN activists that is needed for success in the Oval Office.

I’ve got to hand it to Oprah, She answered the question better than many Republicans have with their faint praise and dismissive remarks or gestures. Sarah as we know is not Oprah’s choice so not saying anything derogatory is a big plus.
Although she is not one of my favorite people, Oprah surprised me with what I call a classy answer.

I think Oprah got caught between a rock and a hard place with that question and that’s why she didn’t answer it. If she said yes Palin is qualified to be President the left would have been all over her like a bad rash and she would have had some explaining to do to her liberal friends. Conversely if she had said no Palin isn’t qualified to be President she would have run the very real risk of angering a solid portion of the female audience that watches her show and supports Palin. After what happened last time she did something that angered that group it appears she decided that discretion is the better part of valour when it comes to Sarah Palin.

We have gone from requiring qualification for office to “does _______” have the “correct” credentials for office. Seems, according to the talking heads, you must have an education from the correct schools, read the correct reading list and so on. I don’t think this was what our Founding Fathers intended.
