OBAMA POLICE STATE UPDATE: Administration to Target Malls & Hotels

Any passenger who refuse the new TSA gropings may face $11,000 fines and possible arrest.
Next up… The Obama Administration is going to begin using their police state security techniques at malls and hotels.

The United States is stepping up security at “soft targets” like hotels and shopping malls, as well as trains and ports, as it counters the evolving Al-Qaeda threat, a top official said Sunday.
A year after a foiled plot to bomb a US-bound passenger plane, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told CNN’s “State of the Union” program that other places and modes of transportation must now be scrutinized.
“We look at so-called soft targets — the hotels, shopping malls, for example — all of which we have reached out to in the past year and have done a fair amount of training for their own employees,” Napolitano said.
Since an attempted bombing on a packed Saturday night in Times Square in May, New York, for example, has installed hundreds of security cameras as part of a plan to triple the number of cameras to 3,000.
In September, the city activated some 500 new surveillance cameras at its three busiest subway stations — Times Square, Penn Station and Grand Central.
“The overall message is everything is objectively better than it was a year ago, particularly in the aviation environment. But we’re also looking at addressing other areas,” Napolitano said.
As extremists struggle to circumvent tighter security at airports and search for new avenues, she said US officials were looking to step up broader measures.
“What we have to do is say, well, what other ways are they thinking to commit an act, because our job is not only to react, but to be thinking always ahead, what could be happening,” Napolitano said.
“And so we have enhanced measures going on at surface transportation, not because we have a specific or credible threat there, but because we know, looking at Madrid and London, that’s been another source of targets for terrorists.”

I’m a rather simple person when it comes to things of this nature.
It’s deliberate.
It’s to increase the ‘herd mentality’, an attempt to restrict movement without actually and officially doing so……. But more than that, it’s attempting to reinforce to the masses that the government – this government – will protect you…… that you don’t have to…… so they’ll soon be able to do away with all self-defense laws and ways for a person to defend themselves.

The Metro in Washington, D.C. is now doing random searches. I took it every day to school and work for 14 years; I can’t imagine having to fit the security gauntlet into my commuting time. Thank goodness I’m no longer using public transportation.
They won’t profile terrorists. Incompentano and her clows labor under the politically correct notion that 1) terrorism is an equal opportunity crime and 2) tea partiers or Catholic nuns are equal or greater threats than a young Muslim man or a youngish burqa-covered woman. I now believe that that is the very point, which many people have been saying for some time now: hurt businesses by p*ssing customers off and making them stay away. Result: increasingly weaker economy = government intervention to “fix” the economy = increased government control of more and more aspects of our lives.
I’ve run through all the scenarios. No matter how it plays out, it’s a win/win for the statists and a loss for businesses and the individual.

If the TSA program is a sham (“Security? We’ll show you security. Bend over!”), intended not to improve security, but to convince Americans how seriously this administration is conducting the war on terrorism (Too dangerous to conduct the war abroad, where the real enemy lives; easier and cheaper to pretend to conduct it at home, on well-mannered, law-abiding citizens.
