Disgusting. White House Says Bush Supported Death Panels Too — NOT True (Video)

This past weekend it was reported that Democrats inserted death panel language back into their unpopular health care bill. Democrats defended this move once they were caught by insisting that Bush supported death panels, too.
The Hill reported:
The Obama administration is trying to quiet talk about so-called “death panels” after The New York Times reported Sunday that a new Medicare regulation includes incentives for end-of-life-care planning…
However, an administration spokesman said the regulation, which is less specific than the reform law’s draft language, is actually a continuation of a policy enacted under former President George W. Bush.
“The only thing new here is a regulation allowing the discussions … to happen in the context of the new annual wellness visit created by [healthcare reform],” Obama spokesman Reid Cherlin told The Wall Street Journal.In 2003, Medicare added a consultation visit for seniors new to the program, according to the Journal. Another 2008 law, enacted under Bush, said the visit can include “end-of-life” planning discussions.
Not true.
Republican analyst Matt Schlapp corrected this latest lie by the Obama Administration.
Bush vetoed the end of life provision that went into law in 2008.

What The Hill’s Jason Millman forgot to mention in his article was that President Bush VETOED the 2008 bill and the Democrats, along with some “good-willed” Republicans OVERRODE Bush’s veto forcing him to sign the legislation into law. The bill dealt with doctors’ reimbursements and more, but the Democrats slipped in the end-of-life planning by opening up the Social Security Act, which I have stated many times is dangerous, because once changed, it is difficult to amend again and allows for tinkering with the Medicare fee schedule and covered services definitions and requirements.
The fact that the Obama Administration claimed that the Bush Administration supported the end of life provision is a complete lie.
And, they know it.

There are and never were “death panels”. All they are talking about is durable powers of attorney and the right to CHOOSE full resuscitation versus not-WHICH HAVE BEEN REQUIRED OF HOSPITALS TO DOCUMENT FOR OVER A DECADE. It started in the 1980′s became a standard of GOOD hospital practice and has been an inspection point for the Joint Commission for at least ten years. Neither GW Bush OR Obama started it. when you hospital asks you what you want-they have been ordered to do so-AND if you say you don’t want to talk about it-all they have to do is write that down and they are off the hook.
Quit scaring people with nonsense.
As far as with-holding care-the private insurance companies have that down to a fine art. And those that DON’T have insurance-almost half the population, have that choice made for them by not having insurance, virtually guaranteeing the minimal will be done.

2. Obama’s Grannicidal law creates a new mandate for medicare patients to have an annual evaluation by the ” doctor”
3. The ” doctor” will grant extension of life , in one year increments to medicare patients
4. The ” doctor” will be regulated
( by representatives of Obama / Ezekial Emmanual / Holdren / Cloward n Piven / etc)
5. The regulated doctor will determine if the patient is worth granting life extension for one more year, and for this, the doctor will be paid by medicare.
6. The doctor will be responsible for implementing the culling his regulators order him to do
7. It will be the doctor’s job to convery the news to the patients if their application for one more year of life has been denied , as well as force patients into agreeing to leave this world.
8. For these services, the doctor will be paid separately.
9. The more he works, the more the doctor earns.
10. Just because its an annual evaluation doesn’t mean that the regulators can’t decide to make it a semi-annual or quarterly evaluation

[The number of uninsured isn't as simple as 47 million. Many of those people aren't Americans, or can afford health insurance and simply opt-out, etc. This number is VERY debatable. It might even be as low as 8 - 9 million Americans.]
