Change!… Communists Honor State AFL-CIO Leader at Public High School Awards Ceremony

Not that long ago Americans openly rejected socialism and communism.
Now the communists are holding awards ceremonies and concerts in public high schools and openly honoring state labor leaders.
The Voices for Jobs, Equality & Peace – People’s World Amistad Awards Concert was held recently at the James Hillhouse High School auditorium in Connecticut.
Is this the change we’ve been looking for?

On Sunday, December 5th, 2010, the Communist Party USA(CPUSA) News, People’s World, held the People’s World Amistad Awards Concert in James Hillhouse High Auditorium.
According to an Article in People’s World, one of the recipients of the CPUSA award was the Connecticut Chapter President of the AFL-CIO, John Olsen.
John Olsen has a long History with not only Unions, but the Democratic Party as well, which his AFL-CIO Bio will attest:
“Mr. Olsen has more than thirty years of political activism and volunteerism. He was a member of the Democratic State Central Committee from 1982 to 1995, served as Chair from 2001 to 2002 and was Co-Chair of the State Central Platform Committee. He has been on the Democratic National Committee since 1996. Mr. Olsen, a native of Greenwich, served on the Greenwich Democratic Town Committee from 1978 – 1993 with one term as Chair and one as Treasurer. He is involved in his hometown Democratic Town Committee in Clinton since 1996.”
John Olsen was also a Super Delegate in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention where he voiced his support for Hillary. He later threw his support behind Barack Obama.
…While accepting the CPUSA People’s World Amistad Award, Mr. Olsen expressed different feelings….. his appreciation for the Communist Party:
“Anyone who stands with me for workers’ rights, I stand with them,” said John Olsen to loud applause as he acknowledged the Communist Party and took a strong stand against fear mongering and baiting, including the anti-socialist baiting of President Barack Obama.”

Gee, how did I know that James Hillhouse High School was in New Haven, Connecticut, even before I Googled it to verify my suspicions. I figured that it had to be either Hartford or New Haven, for reasons which I’m too, um, politically correct to mention.
