An Iraq War veteran and his wife were beaten outside a movie theater by a mob of teens after they told them to quiet down during the movie.
Iraq war veteran Federico Freire and wife, Kalyn, pictured above were attacked Saturday outside a movie theater in Bradenton, Fla., by a group of unruly teenagers. (FoxNews.com).
It was their first date out since his return home from the Iraq War.
FOX News reported:
He was an Iraq war veteran home on leave in time for Christmas. She was looking forward to a night out with her husband after so much time apart.
But a group of teenagers had other plans for Federico and Kalyn Freire, who were assaulted outside a Florida movie theater after asking the teens to be quiet during a movie on Christmas Day.
Federico Freire, a 28-year-old Marine, and Kalyn Freire were attacked after the couple attended a showing of “Little Fockers” on Saturday in Bradenton, Fla.
“The saddest part about it was that this was our first date night together in a long time,” Freire’s wife, Kalyn, said in an interview Wednesday with FoxNews.com. “We were just looking to spend some time together.”
Freire, a Florida native stationed at Camp Pendelton in California, said he and his wife asked a group of “obnoxiously loud” teenagers talking on cell phones to “be quiet” during the 8:20 p.m. movie.
Freire said that when the disturbance escalated and the group began cursing, his wife called the manager, who asked several of the teenagers to leave the theater.
The couple said they thought the fracas was over until they walked out of the theater and were assaulted by a mob of menacing teenagers.
“On our way out of the movie theater, my wife gets surrounded with about 10 to 15 girls that were about to attack her,” Freire told FoxNews.com. “As soon as I saw this I immediately ran and got her out of harm’s way.”
Freire said he was kicked and punched as he and his wife tried to run from the group.
When they were asked to be quiet, some of teens began cussing. Later outside the theater, Freire looked over at his wife and saw a young male with his shirt off punch her in the face, knocking her out.

UPDATE: According to a police report, three others — 16-year-old Ishmael D., 17-year-old Reginald G. and 20-year-old Destiny McNeil — were arrested and charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer and trespassing.

Those above who questioned why the manager did nothing are on the right path, I suspect and HOPE Freires file charges as well as sue (and I generally dislike trigger-happy lawyers). I was in similar situation 2 years ago when no one else in the theater had the balls to speak up, I finally had enough and walked over to the group of teens and told them to shut the f**k up or I’ll deal with them. They did, although were throwing glances in our direction all movie long. When the movie ended I was more apprehensive of my wife’s safety than anything else (used to walk into Coney Island at 2AM and don’t give a crap about the “new entitled”, aka blacks) so I can understand Freires’ situation when he could not react properly to protect his wife with so many people around them. Everyone should carry a knife, legally visible, wherever you can’t carry a gun, that’s what we are down to these days. Backing down is not an option, either, it only strengthens the bad behavior.

This is the fault of movie theatre owners and operators nationwide. They have let people carry on in the theatre in a manner that intrudes upon the enjoyment of the movie by anyone else.
It is true that this is a part of black culture, that of talking during the movie and cutting up, and in particular talking AT the movie and laughing about it in the group. Hotspur, I was bemoaning the sad, sorry state of YouTube comments up above as well. It seems that the most lost, mindless people on the earth all comment on Youtube vids exclusively sometimes.
It doesn’t help that YouTube, like so many media sites, has changed their comments section so that it makes no sense, no matter what scripts you have allowed. The threads are near-impossible to follow, since they changed the format a year or two back….and I think they, and the news-sites, did it on purpose. Make it confusing, and nobody can have a discussion, and then no truth can be reasoned out.
IMO, nothing beats this format right here. No nested-threads, just straight-line first-to-last comments. Best, IMO, for discussion, on a site with not too many commenters. Youtube has a million commenters, though, with some vids having upwards of ten thousand comments. And the thread is impossible to untangle at that point, and follow.
True though that the folks who comment there are some of the dumbest, most racist, insane people online. I said earlier that they make Kos and Huffpo look like bastions of superintelligence, and I meant it. And Kos and Huffpo are, compared to this and Flopping Aces and many, many more, well — not even comparable. Like a zoo compared to a public library. Which puts youtube WAY down on the list.

It would get removed. For instance, a few days ago I read a commenter here who said Obama is the new Hitler. No one called this person out on that, whereas in contrast I know that on RWN the moderators would pull that crap off the boards quick. Unless someone proves to me that Obama is hauling people into concentration camps and slaughtering them, this comparison is obscene and gross. I do agree that the comments here need WAY the F more moderation, especially regarding outright racist comments, I don’t agree that the example you gave is one that should be moderated. It does not call for death, it does not use racial slurs, and it actually comports with reality.
Hitler didn’t start his career killing Jews, Catholics, intellectuals, and opposition voices.
He did it like Obama is doing. In many, many ways. And maybe not Obama himself, but this SYSTEM OF THINGS we have going here very strongly resembles the system of things in Germany prior to the Shoah. Scarily so, even.
I do agree, very much so, that these comments do get beyond the pale sometimes. That’s just not a good example, IMO. Calling for genocide of Muslims, or any other group, should be grounds for deletion. Racist statements, “That’s just how those n*****s are” need to be deleted RIGHT NOW. Same with Jewish blood-libel statements.
Comparing this socialist administration to another, albeit more deadly one (later in it’s lifespan) is quite on target, IMO.
Would you wish to delete comparisons of this system to, say, Stalin’s or Mao Tse Tung’s? They killed even more, even though most of the nation has no idea, since “Hitler” has become the be-all and end-all of evil dictators in the popular mind. The end result of the sysyem we see now is never different. We are merely at an early stage in this cancer’s development. Not very early, either. Just prior, IMO. The Jew-hate in America is almost palpable.

I fail to see how this horribly disturbing story has anything to do with Obama. This type of stuff happens all too often, doesn’t have to do with who is in the White House. White on black crime happened during the Bush years, that certainly doesn’t mean jack squat about Bush.
The theatre has some explaining to do as to why they didn’t address a large group of teenagers assembling themselves outside after being kicked out.

And, I do live in an area where I can find theaters that are primarily visited by black people. I sometimes go, but I follow their rules. Its a more interactive experience. They talk, they yell at the screen. Its a cultural thing that I’ve grown to appreciate for certain types of movies. If I’m unhappy with my experience, I get up & leave & have even asked for a refund & gotten it. My bad for picking the wrong movie, the wrong night, the wrong place, etc.

It did not build anything that would fight a war. Currently the Marines and Navy reject criminal records, drunk behavior and other actions as inconsistant with military service. And Rightly So. The Current rewards for successful military service include paid tuition, books and living stipend for 5 years at a state university of choice to 5 year Veterans. Today’s Military enlisted men are more goal focused then before, and it is because they are goal focused BEFORE they come in. Don’t place the burden on the Military to turn Junior into a citizen. The victim posted the video AFTER the attack. And I never said she deserved it. She DID NOT DESERVE IT. What was done to the woman was vile and racist. But I look on the YouTube video and saw the comment calling the attackers “n*ggers” and the poster of the video, the victim, agreed with it. No matter what was done, that’s the kind of thing that I believe is wrong too, unless you don’t mind calling black people “n*ggers”.

I just went back and read this story, followed all the links, and looked a few more accounts that aren’t present here or linked to here. I’ve got to say… I saw an account of black teenagers angry over being bounced from a theater for being noisy retaliating against the hispanic couple who’d made the complaint that got them tossed. In that teenagers, especially when in the ‘pack’ mode, can and have done far worse for far less. And they are 100% wrong to do it, of course. But, in all the reading I did, I saw nothing racist in their motivations or actions beyond the fact that the victims were of a different race than the perpetrators. I came away thinking, “unruly, unchaperoned teens get violent”, not “black teens assault hispanic couple in targeted racist attack”. The black girl whose mug shot appears above didn’t assault the hispanic couple at all – she interfered with an arrest and got herself arrested for that.
No where in the accounts are there any references to the use of racial epithets or other typical elements of racial violence and the only racial aspect seems to be that the vics are black and the perps are hispanic, a detail that could very easily be pure coincidence, that the attack may well have occurred no matter what the victims’ race was, including black.
My only wish is that the Marine hadn’t had his wife with him to worry about and alter his defense plan. Then there wouldn’t have been any need to call the police. They’d have been calling the coroner.

The fact that anyone would use such language is an indication that they’re looking for a reaction rather than a debate. If you think scolding someone in a blog comment section is somehow going to change what they think, or how they behave, you’re sadly mistaken.
Hosting a blog of your own with the title, “I don’t like racial slurs”, may be lucrative for someone that holds their convictions so dear. NAMBLA has a website. I object to their POV, but I choose not to visit their website. It’s really quite easy to ignore those that you disagree with on the internet—try it.
How do you know that the comment wasn’t written to make the host look like he condones racism? If you were here prior to the 2008 election, there were plenty of people sock puppeting regular commenters just for that purpose. Someone used my moniker to write some vicious racial remarks. What should my response have been? Please, let’s hear it.

Look, I have no problem with different POVs. That’s not the problem. But I like this site and I visit other sites as well. And I’ll call them out on stupidity when I see it, be it racism, “all Muslims must die” and other nonsense. And I am not talking about the trolls and sock puppets. I’m talking about commenters I’ve seen for awhile here.
Frankly, I’m surprised no one has implemented a login system to prevent the sock-puppetry.
On the other topic of ignoring them, would that apply to the Tea Partiers infiltrators who come in with provocative signs? Are we to ignore them? The reason I don’t ignore the people on this site and others is because I have tried getting the conservative message out to people who are convinced, unfortunately, that conservatives are just bigots. When they see those signs and those comments and don’t see any of us fighting against them, their POV is validated. Are we supposed to get out our message but not give a crap about who the messenger is? Just take a look at the John Birch Society. Had it not been for WFB casting them out, who knows what could have happened. I thought the whole point of the movement to restore the Constitution was to attract a large following who would persuade others to fight for restoring the Constitution, not simply be a handful of zealots.

Oh yeah, how’s the effort going regarding the “Tea Partiers are racists” thing going for you? I heard it again on MSNBC this past week with regard to the DREAM Act. They’re going to say it over and over again. If you’re for border security, you’re a racist. If you disagree with the President’s policy, you’re a racist. I hear it every day, and I read it in the comment section in a Yahoo article. I just change the channel, or click on another website.
BTW, the John Birch Society wasn’t anonymous like commenters on a blog. Buckley had actual people with faces and names to call out. For all you know, the commenter at youtube was probably some 13 year old kid trying to get someone to flame a response.
Being politically active is admirable, trying to chastise an individual in a blog comment section is futile. Outrage has its place, I’m not going to waste it on people whose intent is to purposely antagonize others.
