Wikileaks reported earlier today that they are under a massive denial of service attack just hours before they were planning to release thousands of sensitive US security information.

But don’t worry…
The New York Times, Le Monde, Spiegel, the Guardian and El Pais will publish the information tonight anyway.

  1. If they do and are not prosecuted for treason, I will lead a protest against Holder!

  2. I think wikileaks are very couragious to stand up to the murderous US!

  4. Yes, the NYT should face criminal charges if they publish these documents, period. And the albino should really start watching his back and hire a food taster.

Hey Brian? Spell check, you might want to turn it on you pogue. Oh, and blow me.

  5. It’s Spiegel, not Speigel. Literally translated it’s “The Mirror”.

Of course the Euro-peon “newspapers” jump on this.

That’ll be on page 2 though. Page 1 will be reserved for the “evil Swiss” who have, apparently decided, thanks to their direct democracy, that criminal foreigners shall be henceforth… DEPORTED.

52.9% of the people said “YES”, 47.1% “NO”. Most interesting is the second group that got to vote, the so called “Stände” (I think those are the governments of the different provinces -cantons-, but I’m not sure, I’m not that familiar with the Swiss system) and there the result is DEVASTATING. 17.5 of those said “YES”, 5.5 “NO”.

Interesting is that all those cantons that said “NO” are in the west of Switzerland, close to France.

Either way, the Euro-peon media will have a field day tomorrow. Evil Americans and evil Swiss nazi racist babykillers will make up 99.999999999999999% of the headlines over here.

  6. Note: the counter of the deportation initiative was a “soft solution”, smacked together within short notice by the, left wing dominated, Swiss parliament. That’s why there were 47% against the deportation initiative. Without the attempt by the parliament the deportation initiative would have easily broken 60% support.

  7. Brian Routh,

That “murderous US” sure saved your sorry UK ass in WWII. And continues to spend its treasure protecting you, you ungrateful POS.

If not for the US you would be goosestepping and speaking German.

    Go to Hell!

  8. If they do I hope they’re all prosecuted for HIGH TREASON and shot!!! The freedom of information act does not mean putting our troops and government officials in Jeopardy!

  9. Brian – Go back to your government-supplied hovel and dream of world socialism while someone else acts on your behalf, you self-delusional twit.

  10. Let me translate comment #3 from Chile:

Honestly I do not see the purpose to release secret diplomatic documents. If the life of thousands of agents are in danger…what is the point? The international relations are in deep problems. This is simply a robbery of confidential information. If this it is permitted…will any hacker be allowed to put on line all my
private information? This type is a delinquent and he should be judged by putting deliberately the- life of others in danger. He will pass to the history as the but large tattler. Or as we say in Chile, he will be the but large conchadesumadre.
    ****************************************************************

As I understand it…this informtion will be very embarrasing to the Obama Administration,by exposing their true thoughts and words about other world leaders and governments.

So,I’m not bothered too much about what this will expose.

If it exposes Obama for the phony that he truly is…so be it.

  11. Brian, you are such a useful idiot. Nutlicker.

  12. Brian thinks Al Queda are the good guys.

Anyway, how is leaking documents “standing up” to the USA? It is the biggest act of cowardice there is. But I guess that is what you cowards think being tough is.

  13. Try releasing Russian documents. Putin would put Assange on ice…Hussein will just play another round of golf.

  14. # 10

    Amen

  15. I hate to go against the tide here and I certainly do not agree with the New York Slimes on virtually any question. That said, let me point out the First Amendment to you -

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

We either have freedom of the press or we do not have freedom of the press. There can be no exceptions. What few restrictions that exist do so on the grounds of defamation. It is not the New York Times that needs to be prosecuted here.

Certainly, however, the individual(s) responsible for accessing all of this information and transmitting it to Wikileaks should be prosecuted for treason and I would not be adverse to seeing a few heads roll over the gross insecurity of our government-run computer operations.

  16. UK’s Daily Telegraph has published the highlights taken from Der Spiegel and no wonder Obama is worried:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/8166248/Wikileaks-US-referred-to-Mahmoud-Ahmadinejad-as-Hitler.html

“Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is referred to as “Hitler” while President Nicolas Sarkozy of France is called a “naked emperor” in US documents released by Wikilieaks on Sunday.
    …”

  17. The DHS is busily confiscating IP addresses to satisfy Hollywood, but wouldn’t even contemplate doing so to save the lives of our key informants all over the world.

  18. if our government had the will they could make this guy disappear. perhaps we should capture him and send him to skidmore, mo. 1

  19. There was a time when people had the character and internal fortitude not to publish these kinds of documents, because they loved their country enough not to put the lives of their countrymen and those who have aided them in danger. Those days are gone, so hand the treasonous high until the buzzards have their fill.

  20. Granny, that is like saying that because the press gets hold of your medical records, they somehow can utilize the freedom of the press or speech to reveal your records to the world – that is an abuse.

  22. Sorry, not hand, but hang the treasonous high…..

  23. I highly DOUBT that there are ANY Top Secrets that this Nation has (had) that has not been sold to the highest bidder OR released into the public domain to seriously damage the overall peace and security of this once great Nation.

Who ever thought that the highest office on the planet would be populated by the squatter in-chief and his communist minions bent on total destruction of the US as we’ve known and loved her? These folks are not even operating in the dark as they did generations ago. If you listen to CNN or MSNBC or CBS or NPR, the campaign is on to remake America into a Soviet-style existence with little forethought of the consequences.

I will not go down without a fight BUT it is apparent to me that the best days of America are behind us. I fear for the future of my children and grandchildren who will mature into a Country thoroughly gutted and unrecognizable as the once great Nation that she was.

How soon will the mooslims be gathering in our US National Cemeteries and kicking down the rows upon rows of headstones in the name of political correctness? Far-fetched? Think again.

  24. Spiegel is not sugar coating their release of the information that thus far is very damaging to Obama and Hillary. They are updating their links here:
    http://www.spiegel.de/international/topic/wikileaks/

  25. Has anybody ever mentioned to Assange that the CIA kills people for a living?

  26. Oh my, what they are leaking is despicable. I despise this administration as much as anyone, but, this is treasonous.

  27. First Amendment does not apply. The information the press and wikileaks is printing is stolen information. It is owned by the government. In fact, case law strictly protects secret government information.

The First Amendment is supposed to restrain government from preventing you from distributing YOUR information. Government information is thiers to control.

  28. Remember your world “Apology tour” in April 2009 where you said, “there have been times where America’s shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.”

Hey Obama…your chickens are coming home to roost…bok, bok, bok

    Back atcha!

  29. Like having Lord Haha as your uncle.

  31. Massive DDOS?!? Where do I sign up? The Wiki-leakers need a massive Denial of Oxygen attack (aka waterboarding) until they confess who ELSE is leaking this stuff. I find it beyond believable that some ultra-low-level player in the US military would’ve had access to (and ability to make off with) upward of 500K electronic docs from not just the military, but State Dept.

The point is, Assange & Co. are releasing this to harm the US. They are enemies, plain and simple. There’s only one proper way to deal w/ enemies.

Joanne, exactly that thing has happened more than once – and that would come under “defamation”.

Mike, there is no such thing as “government information that is theirs to control.” WE are the government – whether they like it or not. If such was the case, then the government could stamp “classified” on virtually everything, something that they cannot do, and would never once have to even acknowledge the existence of the FOIA.

I do not agree with what the New York Times is doing, but they are doing nothing different than has happened on dozens of occasions before. Think Bay of Pigs or the Watergate breakins. Virtually every news story worth the name is acquired on the back of “private” information. What the NYT is doing is not treason, merely irresponsible to the nth degree.

It is the leaker/leakers that are the traitors.

  33. Could it be that we will hear of the Brown, Obama, Hillary deal to release al Megrahi??? Or, will we just hear of sophemoric insults of world leaders…Whatever the case, Assange has already damaged the US Military mission in Iraq and Afghanistan by his previous leaks of classified military informatikon. For this alone, he should be arrested for endangering our brave combatants.

  34. Interesting times, these.

  35. Der Spiegel also quoteed the State Department as saying that President Barack Obama “prefers to look East rather than West,” and “has no feelings for Europe”.

Now this is a real eye opener!

Well, I’ve been saying for a while now that you Americans should get the heck out of Europe. Focus on the Far East. China, Korea, India, Japan, etc. That’s the future.

Europe is going to tear itself to pieces. You want to be far away once that begins.

But looking at some of the “leaks”, I have to say… uhm… It doesn’t take leaks and stuff to figure out some of them.

    1) Suspicions of corruption in the Afghan government
No, really? That was so obvious right from the start.

    2) Bargaining to empty the Guantánamo Bay prison
I didn’t know the actual numbers, but it doesn’t surprise me at all. I expected something like that.

That said, will anyone ever leak how much freeing those two journalists in North Korea cost?

    3) Gaming out an eventual collapse of North Korea: American and South Korean officials have discussed the prospects for a unified Korea
Again, this doesn’t take a genius to figure out. North Korea will eventually fall. You gotta discuss what to do because Korea doesn’t want to copy Germany.

    4) Iran has obtained a cache of advanced missiles, based on a Russian design
Everybody and his grandmother have known this for a while

    5) A dangerous standoff with Pakistan over nuclear fuel
Okay, has anyone ever believed that Pakistan will never cause problems?

    6) A global computer hacking effort: China’s Politburo directed the intrusion into Google’s computer systems
That was my first guess when it happened.

    7) Saudi donors remain the chief financiers of Sunni militant groups like Al Qaeda
    Again, no surprise there.

Honestly, so far I don’t see anything that could be considered a “surprise”.

  37. Where’s Stuxnet when you need it? Wikileaks would be the perfect next target….

    Go to Hell!

If you knew the first thing about the history you reference, you’d realise that tens of thousands of British civilians were killed and over a million homes destroyed in a successful British repulsion of German airwar while America dawdled, and American political leaders either sought accommodation with the Nazis (“Democracy is finished in Britain”) or sold them the armaments they were using to slaughter Britons.

    That’s a big if.

  39. Mirv,

So, in order to rewrite history you ignore a few facts.

The “murderous US” was responsible for 46% of ALL allied aircraft during the battle of Britain.

36% of all pilots for the allies during the Battle of Britain had been Americans.

No the US airforce was not present, they were volunteers who wanted to help England and fight against the Germans.

People can talk all they like about how America was not officially in the war by then, but they can never forget the amount of supply given to our allies to help them fight this war. Not to mention the brave Americans who left their post on America to go and fight for a friend. The first aircraft to be in combat against the germans during the battle of britain was an american aircraft. So the answer here is No America did not directly save britain, but take America entirely out of the battle it might have been a different story. 46% of all aircraft and 36% of all the pilots is a large chunk of their defense.

    Via Answerbag

    =====================================================

Would it kill you to even acknowledge the sacrifices that were made by Americans to secure peace and rebuild Europe and contribute to its defense even today?

    “Murderous US” my ass!

  40. “The “murderous US” was responsible for 46% of ALL allied aircraft during the battle of Britain.”

No. Fighter Command used British Hurricanes and Spitfires, and Bomber Command used British bombers.

“36% of all pilots for the allies during the Battle of Britain had been Americans.”

No. Of the 2927 airmen on the RAF Roll of Honour just over 500 were not British, mostly Poles and British subjects such as Kiwis and Canadians. There are 7 Americans on that list, one quarter the number supplied by Belgium.

    “the sacrifices that were made”

I’m not discounting the losses incurred and service performed by the US and its forces, just suggesting you correct your perspective. The Nazi invasion of Britain was rebuffed before the US felt the need to enter the war against fascism – in fact, the US didn’t declare war against Germany at all.

  41. No Mirv, you correct your perspective. I notice you like to twist facts. You may wish to google “Eagle Squadrons” for a few facts. I also noticed that you omitted to mention the US Lend-Lease Program. You know, that program that supplied a total of $50.1 billion (equivalent to $759 billion at 2008 prices) worth of supplies beginning in 1941. $31.4 billion went to Britain. Gee, how much would that be in today’s dollars?

Without that support one wonders how well you would have fared?

I weary of you sneering socialist America haters. Buzz off!

  42. The Eagle Squadrons weren’t operational until well after the Battle of Britain, and neither was Lend-Lease.

Lend-Lease, or to give it its full title “An Act Further to Promote the Defense of the United States”, was a loan programme that the US insisted was paid in full. The first condition was to empty Britain’s gold reserves and sell all her US assets. Lend-Lease wasn’t fully repaid until 2006.

There’s a reason the US regards the post-war period as a Golden Age, whereas in Britain and most other participant nations it was an age of austerity. Most other nations made more severe sacrifices in terms of civilian and infrastructural losses, and consequently are more circumspect about the prospect of war and less inclined to boast of their involvement in WW2.

  43. And the sneering socialist America hater is wrong again!

The first Eagle Squadron (No. 71) was formed in September 1940, and became operational for defensive duties on 5 February 1941. The three Eagle Squadrons were numbered 71, 121, and 133. Of the thousands that volunteered, 244 Americans served with the three Eagle Squadrons; 16 Britons also served as Squadron and Flight commanders.

The first three members of the Eagle Squadron obtained their transfers to No. 71 Squadron RAF in September 1940. They were:

    * Vernon Charles “Shorty” Keough
    * Andrew B. Mamedoff
    * Eugene Quimby “Red” Tobin

All three men were Battle of Britain veterans, having served together in No. 609 Squadron RAF, at RAF Middle Wallop.
They had joined the RAF Volunteer Reserve (RAFVR) together (receiving consecutive service numbers), having been posted to 609 Squadron together, having fought the Battle of Britain together, and having transferred to 71 together. The trio had also all been killed by the time of the transfer of the Eagle Squadrons to the USAAC in 1942:

    * 81620 Pilot Officer Vernon C. Keough was killed in February, 1941. Age 29.cwgc
    * 81622 Flying Officer Eugene Q. Tobin was killed in September, 1941. Age 24.cwgc
    * 81621 Flight Lieutenant Andrew B. Mamedoff was killed in October 1941, by then transferred, with a promotion to be a Flight Commander in another Eagle Sqn., No. 133 Squadron RAF.cwgc

Another Battle of Britain veteran was Phillip Howard Leckrone. He had served in another squadron with an Auxiliary Air Force heritage: No. 616 Squadron RAF. He was another who was killed early:

    * 84653 P/O. Phillip H. Leckrone was killed in January, 1941. Age 28.

We were suffering economic hardship when we instituted Lend-Lease. Without this aid our allies would never have withstood the Germans and later the Russians.

You continue to sneer at the sacrifices of Americans then and now. It’s easy to sneer at capitalism while you continue to benefit from its largesse.

Who’s boasting? These are facts! Calling the US “murderous” is beyond hubris!

Most other nations made more severe sacrifices in terms of civilian and infrastructural losses, and consequently are more circumspect about the prospect of war and less inclined to boast of their involvement in WW2.

You can’t have it both ways you hypocrite. First you complain that the US never declared war on Germany. You neglected to mention that Germany and Italy declared war on the US first. But America is just a bunch of murdering war mongers, right? Even though Churchill begged us to join the war. But we weren’t “circumspect” about war, right?

I’m not comparing America’s sacrifice versus other nations. You are. I’m simply pointing out that we brought plenty to the table and deserve recognition for it.

I’m not letting you or anyone else belittle our contributions nor call us murderers, etc.

  44. Oh, and by the way, how’s that socialism working out for you?

    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/11/eurpes_debt_problem_has_gone_f.html

    Keep sneering.

  45. American leaders have a big problem now, though I’m sure each country’s embassy in the world do just the same with their cables.
I’m also sure their people should be just as amazed as the rest of the world is.

Hope we don’t read too many s**t about Chile -beside the miners soap opera.
