The Obama Administration recently handed out 111 Obamacare waivers to special US companies… And, they’re hiding this from the American public. It takes 6 clicks to find out this information on the government’s health care website.

Unfortunately, if you’re a small business or you don’t have the right connections you can’t get a waiver for your company.
That’s the new reality under the Obama-Pelosi regime.

Unbelievable.
The Cost of Freedom reported:

FOX News contributor Tracy Byrnes said it best:

“The bottom line here is that they gave out waivers is an admission of guilt. Basically they’re saying, “You’re right. We screwed up.” That’s the bottom line here. They did not create a law that benefits all of us.”

So who made the list so far?
The Service Employees Benefit Fund (#10 on list) with 1, 297 enrollees gained a health care waiver from the Obama Administration.

Lets’ see who else is on the list:

#12– UFCW Allied Trade Health & Welfare Trust
#14– IBEW No.915
#19– Asbestos Workers Local 53 Welfare Fund
#33– Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 123 Welfare Fund
#35– UFCW Local 227
#52– UFCW Maximus Local 455
#55– Local 25 SEIU
#60– UFCW Local 1262
#78– Local 802 Musicians Health Fund
#83– Local 17 Hospitality Benefit Fund
#89– International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT)
#91– Transport Workers
#92– UFT Welfare Fund (United Federation of Teachers)

So there you have it. The SEIU and 12 other union groups were given waivers.
How’s that for hope and change?

Michelle Malkin has more on the waiver frenzy.

  1. Time to outlaw unions. They serve no purpose in this modern age of gubbament regulations. Now they are better then the rest of the citizens of this country when it come to receiving quality health care. Don’t forget unions are taking over all the bureaucracies and over 51% of all union members hold gubbament jobs. See any problem with that?

  2. Idea #1: Republicans should introduce legislation that says if one business is exempt, all are exempt.

Idea #2: A small business should sue under grounds it’s unConstitutional to give preference of exemptions. This was the basis of Roe v. Wade and how abortion was legalized. Use it as the basis for how Obamacare should be banned.

  3. Welcome to reality!

My guess is that if the Republicans can shake down the SEIU for some financial support similar to what the Democrats receive, than this issue of the Health Care Bill will fade away into obscurity. Both parties are positioning themselves, it appears, to milk Obamacare for all it’s worth. The big issue for the Tea Party people is to watch the other hand of the administration.

Obama’s czar’s seem to show an almost insightful knack for creating a crisis and operating under the radar while people are arguing over the observable crisis. A great analogy would be the wild fires of California’s forests during the fire season – they get one fire under control, while 3 more mysteriously appear elsewhere, until they’re overcome with the number of emergencies. Homes destroyed, mudslides and destruction – while some little firebug is snickering and waiting for the next years fire conditions to arrive.

  4. Companies will opt out. By closing down. Simple as that.

  5. What I should have said is this: Companies will opt out by closing down, thus eliminating the need to fly.

  6. Let us not forget that the Congress and President were specifically exempted from Obamacare somewhere in the 3,000 page bill.

actually no they forgot this step, or did you miss that memo.
This law will be repealed, bad law from a socialist bad congress, senate and president.
Trifecta of socialist power that got too much done.
gonna take a decade or more to repeal. powder is dry

  8. Now these are the same unions (among others) who got major funding in both the StimUNot bills and the health care bill.

Wait for the ‘union’ tax cuts to be next.

  9. @gberdan : NAACP vs. Alabama 357 U.S. 449 (1958) recognized the constitutionality that freedom of association is a protected “privilege and Immunitty”, as defined by the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights, and protected by the Fourteenth; and solidified the legal protection of economic association. This includes trade unions. However, it may be argued that States can legitimately bar them from engaging in collective legal contracts or business as an incorporated entity– that individuals alone may engage in such action.
Given the recent historical nature of the Federal government to eschew respect for the Constitution, staying in its place a proclaimed obligation to make society ‘better’, that they could/would use their ‘inter-state commerce’ justification to outright ban worker’s unions claiming that they are intrinsically “economic entities engaging in interstate commerce”, and the Supreme Court wouldn’t blink.
To then justify their constitutionality as a non-commercial entity, one would have to claim their political nature as protection to their existence (because, it’s painfully obvious their partisan preferences and easily provable). That then would raise the issue compulsory membership in what is effectively a political entity and theviolation of one’s constitutional civil rights. Even more, the fact that Congress has laws that outlaw more than one union in certain industries nationally of whom their workers have gained high political power, is even more hypocritical of the application of the constitution in law today. It’s a shame that people aren’t as proactive in challenging the legality of certain statutes today, because if one could force judgement by the Supreme Court on an issue, without doubt the US would be a country of more expansive liberties than it is now.

  10. just last month we find that mc donalds and others will receive a 1 year exemption from obamacare. would that be a 1 year extension to keep the “troops” on board for the 2012
election? they need these people on board. stringing along the folks on empty promises. but i have to say a year reprieve ?? a fools bargain – when you make a deal with the devil…..

  11. Now, more than ever this fiasco needs to be repealed. Missouri also needs some heavy support. We need to get behind the “Right to Work” effort NOW!

  12. 0bama:

Let me be clear, I got out even before I got in. So, why shouldn’t I grant hundreds of corporations waivers from 0bamacare! It is a waste of money.

My limousine is belching fumes and I have a meeting with more corporations who what to get out. 0bamacare is for the stupid Tax Payers. It blows like Barney Frank. Good day.

  13. If you checkthe grid, the applications were filed and aproved in a day! When have you ever seen the US govt move that fast. This says to me that all these waivers were pe-determined and the application was a smokescreen.
Maybethat wouldbe the smoking gun viz denial of due process…

  14. Six clicks on a government web site is not “hiding” anything. dont be stupid.

What exactly is one of these waivers, anyway?? did you look into that? are you assuming that a “waiver” means “we don’t have to obey the law at all!” no, in this case it means that these groups already offer health plans to their members, but they have a unique business structure (like the mini-med plans) which makes them technically ineligable under obamacare but still provides a comparable level of coverage. So groups can say, hey, we think we already cover our people well and your definition of coverage doesn’t apply in our case, and they apply for a waiver so that they continue providing their existing insurance coverage even though it appears financially to be too high or too low for the range specified by the government. Thats why all those restaurants and other small businesses applied for waivers. and it makes sense

i totally agree the government is too d*mn big, but please stop freaking out over silly things like this because it makes you look like you dont care about understanding the whole situation before you complain

  15. If Bummer’s health insurance scam is sooo good for the great unwashed and businesses, why then the need for waivers? Would seem to me everyone would be jumping on board to participate.
