Jimmy Carter: North Korean Regime Deserves Our Respect

The North Korean regime attacked South Korea killing 2 Korean Marines and 2 civilians.
Thank goodness Jimmy Carter was there to defend them.

No one can completely understand the motivations of the North Koreans, but it is entirely possible that their recent revelation of their uranium enrichment centrifuges and Pyongyang’s shelling of a South Korean island Tuesday are designed to remind the world that they deserve respect in negotiations that will shape their future.

…sorry to say we will probably leave the response up to the South Koreans, where there’s more than enough confusion on the proper direction to take…A taking out of the artillery that shelled the South seems appropriate…I’m also of the opinion, and especially if the attack/shelling from the North continues, is an enormous missile attack on where we think the leadership is.

Notice that jimmy carter never endorses north korea’s actions or condones them. He merely is speculating at the intention of the actions. That is the quote. Unfortunately oftentimes people take titles as the truth and don’t read the story to see if the conclussions that were drawn are in fact correct. In this case the quote itself discounts the conclusion. He doesn’t endorse the North’s action nor grant them respect. He says they are demanding respect they have always demanded hence the “reminding” he says, “No one can completely understand the motivations of the North Koreans,” that sounds like the statement that follows is speculation on the North’s intentions not a statement of fact or even of Jimmy Carter’s state of mind but his presumptions of what the North wants.

This is EXACTLY the kind of foolish thinking that led Jimmy Carter into the Iranian hostage crisis when he was President. What is hard to fathom, is that Carter still cannot understand the depth of his own failed policies. Carter’s approach FAILED in the 70′s, and his advice would fail if anyone tries to apply it today.

I am not sticking up for north Korea but u have to deal with them special unfortunately. And the ignorant people that call Carter names as if he is some backwoods illeterate r ignorant. Carter graduated in naval academy in top 8%. He was on nuclear program and his dad died and he got out.to help his mother. He is actually a very smart man.he just had bad cabinet at bad time.I wish I had his background at that age in 1950.

Every time Peanut Brain opens his mouth he shows us just dumb his. He seems to forget that it was the North Korea that invaded the South in 1950. It was the North that captured the USS Pueblo and shot down a US Air Force electronic recon plane. Or that in the mid 70s they found tunnels dug under the DMZ. Doesn’t Peanut Brain know that the North Koreans tried to kill the South Korean President at his official resident in Seoul in the 60s or they blew up the South Korean cabinet in Burma during the 80s. Lucky they missed the South Korean President. The North Korea doesn’t deserve any respect from us. We didn’t invade North Korea until they invaded the South. Peanut Brain just shows they American people wasted their dollars educating him at the Naval Academy.

Read the quote again, HE IS CLEARLY SPECULATING ON NORTH KOREA’S INTENTIONS people (hence the quote beginning with the phrase “No one can completely understand the motivations of the North Koreans, but it is entirely possible…”).
