The TSA is now strip searching little boys.
Is there anyone else in America outraged by this?
From the video:
Lets get the facts straight first. Before the video started the boy went through a metal detector and didn’t set it off but was selected for a pat down. The boy was shy so the TSA couldn’t complete the full pat on the young boy. The father tried several times to just hold the boys arms out for the TSA agent but i guess it didn’t end up being enough for the guy. I was about 30 ft away so i couldn’t hear their conversation if there was any. The enraged father pulled his son shirt off and gave it to the TSA agent to search, thats when this video begins.
Just last week TSA administrator John Pistole told a Senate committee that the Transportation Security Administration that children under 12 would not be subject to enhanced pat downs.
Yahoo reported:
Pistole announced there would be some method of screening in place that allows air crews to move quickly through checkpoints. Children under age 12 are not subject to enhanced pat downs.
But he didn’t say anything about strip searching children.

Not long after 9/11, Al Gore took a flight and put on this big show going through an extended search and patdown in some attempt to how ‘necessary’ random screenings of passengers were, as opposed to something effective like profiling.
Al and Barry may be threats to the nation, but they’re certainly not a threat to an airborne plane. It was pure theater then, just as it is now.

Well, the most damning in all this is that it really does no good. Any self-respecting terrorist is gonna give themselves a C4 suppository and no pat down will detect that. Since their argument this is all necessary to protect us and yet is utterly ineffective, the next logical step would be full body cavity searches.
A normal x-ray machine that shows bones and any solid objects would give less radiation (since it is spread over the whole body) and detect any “butt” or “breast” bombs. No patdowns required and no porn-scanners.
It is so damned easy.
P.S., Where the hell is the CLU in all this? If Bush were POTUS they would be marching in the streets.

Not entirely so easy Bill Mitchell. State and Federal laws require that you be trained (takes a minimum of two years), certified and licensed in order to operate an X-ray machine. TSA has escaped this only because there is no law covering the full body scanners and they have not yet been classified as a medical device.

The TSA is being somewhat disingenuous when they claim that the pat-down (grope) is an alternative to the scanner. That’s not true. If you go through the scanner and it goes off, you get the grope. That’s what happened to my 14 year old son, yesterday. He was wearing a belt that made the scanner go off. So, a TSA agent took off my son’s belt and proceeded to give him a feel around his waist and groin.

I’ve commented on this from a constitutional/police power perspective several times before on my site. I’m actually pretty familiar with the whole issue of detainment/reasonable suspicion etc since I plied my trade as a detective for nearly twenty years.
Here’s a few points to remember.
1- They can search you at the airport and it is NOT a fourth amendment violation (at least not now). That is settled law with a long, long record of supporting case laws.
2- That said, common sense HAS to prevail as the TSA agents do their thing. Bombs or threats do not come in the form of three year old children. They don’t, and they never will.
3-The TSA was doomed from the outset because it was cobbled together with parts from special interest groups, affirmative action, unions, liberals, political correctness, etc. It will never work. As I told a buddy, it would be like asking from someone to build you a car and they design and build a boat- because THEY wanted a boat. Now, you could put wheels on the boat, but it is still a boat and will always be one. Simple. To get proper security in place, the feds would have to gut the whole thing out.
4. The TSA was never about real security. If it were, it would have been designed by the Israelis. It is about making busy work for the feds so you think you are safe. That way you’ll give up more of your freedoms willingly and more of your tax money- willingly or not.
5. Any good cop stationed at the airport has to be very careful not to get caught up in the madness infecting the TSA. What we are seeing is a power play- them vs us. Good cops know when to get scarce and this would be a good time. As I say in my latest posts, detaining a citizen based on the fact they changed their mind and decided not to fly is dangerously close to a lawsuit and the loss of your job. And here is a good point to remember. The TSA agent that orders you to violate a person’s civil rights will NOT get fired or sued, but you will. If I were stationed there (obviously after I suffered a severe blow to my brain and was brain damaged) and the TSA agent called me over to detain someone, I’d ask this one question- “What did they do?” If the answer was anything less than a crime, I would wave them on and apologize. “You have a nice day and drive safely.”

I am a frequent flier (1,000,000 plus miles since 9/11) and I’ve been increasingly frustrated and then infuriated by airport security–both the private and then the Thousands Standing Around.
I had occasion last year to argue with a group of TSAs who ‘randomly’ selected me for extra screening and as a result of my arguing they were going page-by-page through my papers, making me turn on my iPad and my laptop and, of course, doing a detailed search of my person. It got heated and I was saying how ridiculous and wasteful it was searching a 48 year old American, former Marine, father of 8 from Utah and one of the TSAs said “you think you could do better? You think you can pick a terrorist out of group?” Of course I said that I could absolutely do better than them because I would not waste time searching little old ladies, 5 year old children and 48 year old American, former Marine, fathers of 8 from Utah. The TSA agent screeched (really there is no other way to describe it) “WHAT PROFILING? YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT PROFILING AND THAT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL!” I was stunned by the statement but responded that she obviously hadn’t read the Constitution if she thought that.
As we kept arguing we attracted a crowd including the police and it was getting more and more heated. It was one of those times when I wished I could just shut my mouth, but I couldn’t. All of a sudden this little old guy, about 80, stepped up behind me and said “if you just wore a robe and turban they’d let you right through.” Talk about screeching, there were repeated screeches from the TSAs of “that’s NOT TRUE.” but it served to break the ice and I was able to shut my mouth, gather my stuff and make my escape. Interestingly enough, I’ve now been ‘randomly’ selected for search 8 of the last 9 times vie flown.

At which point you would have been arrested for resisting a Federal Officer and your child removed from your custody, likely to be turned over to Social Services – the usual MO in this kind of case. Worse, if you actually hit the SOB molesting your child, the penalty is EIGHT YEARS IN JAIL.

@CrackerMike- You’re stretching it a little bit there I think. To equate the TSA screeners to the Nazi SS is a bit much. I have a very close friend in Oregon who is a TSA agent and he tells me that they are as disgusted by what is going on as anyone but they can either do what they are mandated to do by policy or lose their jobs. And especially in Oregon, losing a decent paying job like that would not be a good thing. Oregon has ~12% unemployment, close to 20% in some counties.

Dave #51 I stopped flying when that’s exactly what TSA did to me. 4 muslim men were yelling, speaking in a foreign language, acting drunk and they were allowed to walk on the plane. I was right behind them scared and TSA pulled me out of line for a search. I opened my mouth too saying, ” You’ve got to be kidding! You pull me out of line and you don’t stop them???” She snotted back to me, ” WE don’t profile!!” Our plane was delayed because they could’nt get those men to calm down on the plane…..flight attendants & the pilots all come over and talked to the 4 men…..and TSA pulled me out of line to pat down… idiots! So I stopped flying.

Notice the bit about a gentleman stripping off his pants and shirt and them insisting he put his clothes back on so that they could grope him, even though in his skivvies it was perfectly obvious that there was nothing to feel. This is about HUMILIATION and POWER. Nothing whatever to do with SAFETY.

@CrackerMike- You’re stretching it a little bit there I think. To equate the TSA screeners to the Nazi SS is a bit much. I have a very close friend in Oregon who is a TSA agent and he tells me that they are as disgusted by what is going on as anyone but they can either do what they are mandated to do by policy or lose their jobs. And especially in Oregon, losing a decent paying job like that would not be a good thing. Oregon has ~12% unemployment, close to 20% in some counties.

Bull! It is NOT a joke. Violating a child like that completely undermines all other efforts we make to keep children safe from sexual assault. And for some children – like the little screaming girl – that is a memory that will mark that child for life.
Do we REALLY want to be teaching our children that somebody in blue gloves can walk up to them anytime and physically search them without a warrant? Because if you think it is going to stop at the airports you are an utter fool. Next thing you know our children will be being run through scanners and/or physically searched when they enter the schoolhouse doors each day!

As noted earlier by #21 watch the video and count the number of officers who wander into the area, they know people are getting tired of this b/s and flood the area to protect their own, the fear and anguish the child is suffering is of no concern here.
Also agree Obama could stop this overnight. His children are off limits to the press, but ours must be terrorized any time they travel. I have written all my representatives, 10 days is the normal turn around on replies. If this nonsense is not turn around soon we must assumed this government is no longer responsive to the electorate and is in fact compromised by Socialist infiltrators.
We have seen our Manchurian Candidate, I’m at the point where a 7 Day’s in May option seems more tolerable. I’m inclined to spend my next vacation in the US. Let my beard grow out, run around in a robe and a turban, fly a few times, speak with a heavy foreign accent and greet the TSA people with “as-salāmu ʿalaikum” and watch if they pull me out.

Have decided NOT to visit the USA, tough on my son who lives in LA and was looking forward to seeing us! I am not prepared to put up with that humiliation, if tourism is down blame the TSA methods where common sense does not prevail.
