The California Nurses Union was behind the last minute attack on Meg Whitman. The radical union pushed illegal alien Nicky Diaz in her accusations against Republican Meg Whitman.

Illegal alien Nicky Diaz lashed out at Whitman for not buying her baby a present.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported:
One of the most tantalizing mysteries in California’s 2010 gubernatorial election involved the connection between one of the state’s poorest women and one of its wealthiest.
How did an undocumented, Mexican-born housekeeper, Nicandra Diaz Santillan, end up in the national spotlight, boldly confronting her former boss, billionaire GOP gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman?
The short answer: with the help of a union.
The longer answer is that at the height of the gubernatorial race, as campaign ads blared on Spanish-language television, the aggrieved housekeeper was determined to tell Californians her story of being abruptly fired by Whitman after nearly a decade on the job.
In early September, Diaz turned to a friend who knew a member of the powerful, Oakland-based California Nurses Association, The Chronicle has learned.
The union called in two lawyers for Diaz: Marc Van Der Hout, a longtime immigration attorney in San Francisco, and celebrity feminist attorney Gloria Allred, a fierce workplace rights litigator who arranged for Diaz to tell her story in a live-webcast news conference.Asked to confirm her organization’s role in Diaz’s case, Rose Ann DeMoro, the nurses union executive director, said Monday, “I won’t deny it, but I prefer not to comment directly on the case.

so when’s the deportation hearings for that illegal alien again?
gastorgrab commented:
If Rose Ann DeMoro had followed the law herself, none of what she alleges would have been allowed to happen.
Somewhere, a legal immigrant was denied a good-paying job AND a legal settlement.
DEPORT HER NOW! (Deduct the plane fare from her settlement.)

Well after all, the unions were given their marching orders by Jerry Brown back in the spring and summer. What exactly should we expect?
The next two years should be fun here in Cali.
valerie commented:
There is very little wrong with California. They need to pass two laws:
1. A right-to-work law, and
2. A budget that is designed to be less volatile than the current system.
A right-to-work law would not eliminate unions: it would make the unions accountable to their membership. The current budget is of the soak-the-rich variety: it skims off the very top of the yearly income brackets. This is the most volatile part of the spectrum. While it is politically satisfying to play class warfare against the “rich,” this state spends enormous amounts of time (i.e., money) every budget year because nobody knows what is going to be funded.
The schools don’t know how many teachers they will have until after the first month, each and every year.
A less greedy, more stable state budget would free up the time and effort of employees from top to bottom, and still yield abundant results.

Unions interfering in elections by creating a scandal? I’m shocked – shocked!
No not really, I was being sarcastic.

I never will understand how anyone bought her story. Oh well. Enjoy the new governor. We got rid of Kathleen Sebelius. Sorry she had to stay in this country though.
Don Rodrigo commented:
Barbara Boxer and her allies have usually relied on smear tactics whenever she had a close election. You can bet serious money it wasn’t even the Nurses’ union who took the initiative, but rather, it was “Senator Ma’m's” people who initiated it, using the union as a proxy.
Bet on it.
Don Rodrigo commented:
An addendum: I know Whitman was running for governor against Brown, but Boxer’s notorious for these stunts, and is certainly behind it. Jerry Brown owes her.
jb commented:
If Californians are dumb enough to elect Jerry Brown they deserve whatever they get. Too bad it effects the rest of the country and world.
noislamocommie commented:
Deport the illegal alien whiner & tool then deport the other 29,999,000 right behind her. Overrun the borders with all those illegals coming home to FIX THEIR OWN FRIGGING GOVERNMENT. Then teach Californians how to get a real conservative in the primary process. They picked two anti-gunner amnesty-supporting RINOS to high-profile leadership positions. No wonder the R’s stayed home!

No bailouts for these Blue states.

Hey, we just elected one of the most virulent anti-police, pro illegal alien, pro sanctuary city, criminal loving district attorneys to be California’s Attorney General. Kamala Harris will make outgoing AG Jerry Brown look like Joseph McCarthy.

Anyone want to bet it was the union paying Allred for her services?

Ms. Santillan should be deported immediately after completing her prison sentence for a host of Federal crimes that she has admitted to have committed.
Mike commented:
Everyone reading this blog should file an attorney complaint with the CA bar against Van Der Hout and Allred for putting their client at risk. If, indeed, Neeekee does not get deported, then we’ll know the whole thing was fixed well in advance. If she is deported then the aforementioned sleaszeball lawyers should have their tickets pulled.
Margaret commented:
They are already being bailed out. They are borrowing money at high rates and the federal government pays a large portion of the interest on that money. They have no incentive to cut spending.
BurmaShave commented:
So who cares for Nicky Diaz. First of all, her complaint was patently phony. She was treated extremely well by the Whitmans; many would be covetous of her working relationship. She lied to obtain that relationship. When the lie was revealed she was let go without prejudice. There is nothing in her story that evokes my sympathy.
She then chose, probably for several pieces of silver, to betray to herself and the Whitmans. It may have suited her at the time to do what she did, but my bet is by this time next year she will not be very happy with herself. She may also rue allowing lawyers Marc Van Der Hout and Gloria Allred, to use her like a piece of meat for their scumbag ends; but hey, that is what she chose, and she allowed it to happen.
Surely the California Nurses Union and their scumbag lawyers regard Nicky Diaz as a sucker and a used-up Kleenix tissue. Nobody trusts a traitor, not even other traitors

Nurses Union had picketed outside Meg Whitman’s home in Atherton, much before the illegal maid story came out.
There is even a video of union thugs physically attacking some non-union person, outside her home.
In fact the nurse goonions used to follow Whitman where ever she went during the campaign and would start a campaign for the Moonbeam whenever they got a chance, by yelling obscenities at her and catching someone from the lamestream media to go on TV and accuse her of being rich .

She will not be deported because ( like all illegals) she has 3 anchor babies. And no one knows who / where their fathers / her husband is. She will continue to be a parasite, she has birthed 3 meal-tickets. Her life is goooood.

Let’s see, she settled for $5000. Or about 6 weeks of pay at a 23$ / hour job. Not taking into account any other perks she may have lost. Do you think the liberals that used her will take care of her now????

Yes, but we cant include any specifics because that would be ‘racial profiling’.

If Californians really wanted to they could force the state government to allow off-shore drilling for the wealth that lies untouched less than twenty miles off the coast in realitively shallow water.
You have the refineries in Long Beach and elsewhere to turn yourselves into another (only slightly richer) Alaska, where every citizen of the state receives a royalty check from the state/oil companies every month. Think I’m lying? Look it up yourselves.
You could toss every liberal creep in the state right into the disposal and support the rest of us for a change. Think it’s gonna happen? Nah… I don’t either. No guts.
